  • Game-Changer: THIS is WHY I Bought a Fishing JET SKI!!
I think this video epitomizes everything I love about this awesome pastime. The very early starts, the beautiful sunrises, the adrenaline rush, the camaraderie and friendships, and of course, the challenges and victories of solo offshore fishing.
Join me and four friends as we head wide off Southeast Queensland, Australia, in search of some quality fish- and a heap of adventure! Definitely another memorable day on the water. This sport is highly addictive!
Thanks very much to my fishing buddies on this day: Steve, Mark, Shayne, and Wade. 3 Fish Pro skis and one FXHO!
    Yamaha Fishing Jetski:
    - Yamaha Waverunner FXHO 2023 : the perfect ski for my needs
    - Shoreline "Tubbies " fishing pods: They offer safety + storage + live bait tank
    - Shimano and Daiwa fishing reels, variety of lures jigs.
    - Garmin GPSMap 953 sounder. You'd be blind out there without a quality unit like this.
The Rusler Bait Mate I tested in this video is a new invention from Russell Rothwell, owner of Rusler Fishing products. I am fortunate to be on the beta testing list so gave this a whirl on this trip out. I have a few things to iron out for the best way for me to use it, but I can see this is going to be very popular with the live bait and the game fishermen! I hope to have these for sale early in 2024 on the Jetcast website.
Other accessories mandatory for any serious jetski fisho:
    - Jetcast Reel Covers save your reels -and servicing costs!
    - Rusler Sounder Cover: don't leave shore without protecting your valuable electronics from saltwater and sun. Proven in the most extreme conditions on over 700 fishing boats and PWCs!
    - Jetcast Handlebar bags: stores my sunglasses, and sunscreen and leaves them within reach
    - Jetcast Seat covers: awesome protection and comfort for all-day fishing; cool AND dry!
    - Gaffs, Tethers, and many more items you need can be found on: www.jetcast.au
Special thanks to Shoreline Jetskis for the best fishing ski fit-outs in the country, if not the world! www.shorelinejetskis.com
Shoreline sell both Yamaha and Sea-doo fishing PWCs.
Feel free to comment, like and subscribe of course! :) Or reach out to me directly: info@jetcast.au

    Hey Paul.
We here in the southern half of WA have so many restrictions comapred to where you are.
One rule that has been lifted is the PWC size to distance from main land, PWC under 2.84 (i think) wasn't allowed past the 5 nautical mile ofshore but now those restrictions have been lifted and any size can go beyond that limit only if the skipper is conferdent and has the appropriate safety gear.
But sill can't ride befor sunrise or after dusk, so basicly no dark time riding even if you have the lighting system on your PWC like you have.
Then there is the fishing ban here:
Catching demersal scalefish from a boat will be prohibited from: 1 February to 31 March (inclusive); 1 August to the beginning of the September/October school holidays; and. end of the September/October school holidays to 15 December (inclusive).
WA sucks in this respect, so cant take your kids out to fish for the likes of snapper.
    Nice catch on the snapper.
    Love the new ride :)

One of the things we jetski fishos need to do is have recognition that we use a new class of vehicle that should have the same rules as a (fishing) boat. We don’t generally do the things that have restricted rec Jetski’s from so many waterways plus added so many restrictions. The fishing rules seem very strict in WA. Is the science accurate and stocks have been diminishing?

I have a question for you. What are those high side panels or or compartments you have on your JetSki is that for extra fuel or what is that that is quite unusual looking and I’m just curious.

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  7 месяцев назад

Hi Eric. The side pods are callled "Tubbies" and are a storage unit designed for fishing. They add a lot of storage for fishing gear,. You can put a fish bag with ice inside keeping the rear deck of the ski completely free of obstruction. ,They also include a live bait tank on the rear (yellow bottles) with water fed from the ski's jet pump.. You also get cutting boards, and small "dashboards" where you can place your fishing tools like pliers and lipgrips, plus of course cupholder! The added width and buoyancy makes the ski far safer overall. See the complete ski fitout and explanation on this video : ruclips.net/video/tsWCxvq0vIY/видео.html

I was expecting your next video to include new mods such as a sail or wind-surf sail considering fuel costs these days 😳😅
Great snapper haul, gotta love that. Quality of footage and editing is fantastic, great effort 👌

Yes with the ks we do, a sail would be a good idea! Thanks for the positive vibes on the video. I’ve always been a photographer and videographer so combing passions (fishing, video, editing, audio) keeps my life interesting and mentally fulfilling.

I forgot about the big tides predicted. Wind against the tide on the Bay was pretty rotten for that last 20 minutes or so! If we’d timed it 30 minutes earlier might have been much smoother!

Hi there. The Tubbies are made in Durban, South Africa by Racetech Yamaha. In Australia, Shoreline Jetskis import them by the container and sell them to the local enthusiasts. Thanks for watching.

Enjoyed watching this. Why are the Bonita (Mac tuna) not worth keeping?

    • @Jetcast
      @Jetcast  11 месяцев назад

Just not regarded as a good table fish locally James. Some people like them but the Mac Tuna are more of a pest here! Especially when there’s so many other tasty fish to be had! At times they’re thick here too so not much of a challenge to catch. Most people let them go -or use them as bait!
