I've seen many bands over the years from Sabbath to Slade to Maiden to Skynyrd and Joe's show last year in St Albans just before lockdown was one of the best I ever had the privilege of seeing. It's because of him I took up the uke! Give the man a knighthood he's earned it more than most who get one!
no he is not a sir
Very true, well deserving of a Knighthood.
Fantastic!
Chas n Dave are national treasures
@@jimbanda I agree👍
What a fabulous song. All hail Chas and Dave. Legends.
I’m a Scottish person, sorry. Just got to say I love this guy. Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, London. We are all one.
thomas brady you are so right mate one love
🙏💜❣️
Never apologise for being Scottish Thomas. WE are ALL British and proud to be so.
Terry McKenna. Couldn’t agree more pal. The apology was more a jokey kinda thing. All together pal.
Met Joe twice, invited me and husband into dressing room. Most friendly and down to earth guy in show business. This man has so much talent and musical ability, in all he is a true national treasure.
I'm Italian so I didn't know him Till I got interested in the music by George Harrison and I discovered this guy always next to George Who was a very good ukulele player. But when I watched the concert for George held in London in 2002 to celebrate George's life and music it was Joe Brown to play and sing Here Comes the Sun but Adobe all it was he who closed the concert singing " I'll see you in my dream"and playing a superb ukulele making the audience cry. Absolutely amazing! I fell in love with him.
Very underrated performer. Should definitely be a Sir.
I don't know if you have ever seen Joe \live - but he is a superb performer
no sir
Thankfully he is highly respected by his peers, including Beatles and the Stones, and he has had a 60 year career and by all accounts has a heart of gold. I love him and really hope to see him one more time.
This guy was a legend before I was even born. I’m now 53 years of age, half grey and half bald, and Joe hasn’t aged a day, with a head of hair I said goodbye to 20 years ago. Loved this rendition, thanks for uploading.
Blessed musically and folically 😃
He is just magic
Was with you in the same time love joe xx
I agree Robert 😂
I'm 70 and was brought up with his songs ❤
absolutely beautiful song, Original & cover
I agree, Joe Brown has made an amazing contribution to the performing arts world wide, while still holding his humanity. He deserves a medal. Thanks, Joe.
He got one!
I am 71 and have listened to him for over 60 years. The guy is a true legend I the entertainment world. He deserves a knighthood.
Saw Joe many years ago in Working man's club in Birmingham. After putting on a really great show he then spent a long time talking to people and signing pictures and autographs. Nothing was too much trouble from what I saw as a really nice man. You were great Joe and thank you for a memorable evening
Unbelievable talent - I am 70 years old and heard him do stuff when I was very young - he did a song ‘ I’m Henry the eight I am’ His personality came over and he is a smoker - the most certain sign of wisdom is a continued cheerfulness. That is Joe. Oh , by the way - he is so talented. He play many instruments and his voice is kind of soothing and is like home cooking. Joe I watched you many times over the years. And I saw you sell your Morgan car on the telly. It made me laugh when you said you had to sell it because you couldn’t get out of it. You could!! But I had a sports car and took the same route and sold it. I have a warm feeling when I hear you play. Thanks buddy😀
Joe's a national treasure.
I did not know of Joe when I was 🇺🇸 younger, but absolutely love him now. I play this video once every day. Along with "I'll see you in my dreams." What a talent.
should be Sir Joe brown for the gift he has given to so many in his singing and talent.
Like you, I am amazed he's never been knighted. Remembered him from when I was a nipper back in the 60s.
Terry Ross No chance, have to be a pouf for that to happen 💨🥺
@@jimlepeu577 Right like that jonboy and ‘is loi-dee!
hes no sir
One word for this man!!!!!LEGEND 😊
When I was a kid back in the sixties he was the guy every muso respected ( and he still is) and as a cockney kid myself he was a source of inspiration to practice guitar. I feel like I owe him a lot for all the good times I've had over the years playing music. Cheers Joe you're a real star.
Totally agree Bernie. Learning guitar in the sixties he was an idol
It's about time Joe brown got his well deserved knighthood!
Arise Sir Joe brown for services to popular music .
JOEBROWN GREAT ACT.WONDERFUL..SONGS.CANT BEAT.GOLDEN OLDIES .WELL DONE ..LOVE IT ❤XX
Love his talent he has it all wrapped up just fabulous
Not only a fantastic musician and performer but a natural comedian as well. I love him.
What a beautiful man Joe is, besides being a fantastic musician.
Terrific - I’ve seen Joe twice recently, and both shows were absolutely superb! This guy pre-dates them all, The Beatles, The Stones, Zeppelin, and he’s still putting on a great show. A true British music legend!
Exactly, a legend and still no knighhood.
What a great version. Such an underrated performer
Wonderful sound, great mix for a live performance. I only discovered Joe on RUclips a couple years ago, then discovered Chas & Dave.
And he's right about how underrated Chaz and Dave were. The fact that the late Lonnie Donegan didn't look out of place performing with them speaks for itself.
Were going to see joe and the band again in Canterbury this month can’t wait recommend joe to anyone 3 hours of pure magic ....
Outstanding version by a true British legend. When I was a youngster in the 1960's I remember watching Joe on our old black and white telly. He still has that same spiky hairstyle and still sounds as great 50 years on.
Still rocking Joe after all these years.First saw you in the sixties, brilliant then, and still the same after all those years.Still got the same hair ..like a brush...From the first couple of minutes on stage has the audience in the palm of his hand, funny, good storyteller, and wonderful musician, all round entertainer.Thank you Joe for all the pleasure you have given to audiences for all those years. We love you, God bless.🌹❤
Couldn't agree more, totally underrated. So much feeling put into the music, brings tears.
What a performer! He always seems to have been there and is the same good honest guy he always was! Live long and prosper, Joe Brown!
I have had the pleasure of meeting and performing with Joe in Vegas and he is not only a comedian but a super gifted musician...
Joe is first and foremost a musician. The comedy comes naturally.
Beautifully melancholic song, beautifully performed. 💕
Joe makes me proud of my London roots, East End Forever !!!
Don't phink so Mate...Good on ya..!!!
The travingleswillbres
This guy is such a legend, been strummin and pluckin for years
I only recently discovered Joe and I certainly missed a lot of superb entertainment through the years. His rendition of this song is done no better by anyone else.
Rediscovered Joe Brown after all these years due to my fascination with the uke.... What a true legend...
Back to a time when musicians could play at least one instrument.
Yes, I do agree, a true Leg End! No, seriously, just a bit of fun. Like Chaz and Dave an underrated musician and performer.
When you look at so called music today theres no justice .
Joe brown is a briiiant musician, but oh my god his son Pete.
Its the first time ive seen him he surely can play Joe should be proud of him.
A beautiful tune that never got the credit it deserved , chas and dave did it fantastic Joe has done them proud with this version

Took my dad and uncle to see Joe in Brierley Hill, thought I'd just be chaperoning them, no way lol, what a guy, what a show..... In fact I now play/sing 'picture of you', if you not been to one of his shows gerra long, talented and funny, thanx Joe for giving us 3 a great night 😉
Played by a great in respect to two fellow greats.Beautifully done Joe!!
Loved Joe brown as a kid ..brilliant xx love you mate
Saw Joe Brown, Guildford, 1962. I was 16, my first concert! Gene Pitney, Johnny Kidd & the Pirates, Heinz, Mark Winter. What a night! Im 70 next week, always remember that night! First long trip on my Ariel Leader, Iconic Motorbike. Aiming to catch Joe, on his current tour.
Chris Sawyer pPA
Wow wish I'd been there same age
Those 60s package tours were great. I went to loads.
Chris Sawyer Aries Leader that takes me back 2 stroke were they not?
Chris Sawyer I’m 70 also and remember him with the Bruvvers. Always wanted an Ariel Leader motorbike but my parents wouldn’t allow me to have one. 😢
Joe always comes across as a decent and genuine man.
Possibly one of the toughest jazz pieces I ever learned- no sheet music or tab just a flawless ear and imagination.
A railway "bruvver" as Joe stared his career as a steam loco fireman.
Bloody hell. I love Chas and Dave but I love you too.
Absolutely fantastic keep going my son you are a national treasure 😂
Used to listen to Joe years ago. Thanks to U.Tube for us being reintroduced. Still a brilliant Performer.
Brilliant guy and been around for ever it seems.
Gr8 song.. Love Joe Brown. ❤️🎶🎶
I've seen Joe play live a couple of times, he's a really good musician and this video is a good example of how great he is with a live audience. All I can say is go and see him if you get the chance, as well as being gifted musically he's a great story teller !

Live music at its best!! Good harmonies and instrumentalists...all beautifully mixed ...no gimmicks!!
Love Joe Brown, a natural storyteller, funny, fabulous musician and all round entertainer, who has an audience in the palm of his hand from the first couple of minutes.First saw him live in the sixties and he is the same down to earth londoner as he was then.Remarkably he still has the hair...like a brush, ... only joking Joe.We love you, thank you for all the years of pleasure you have given to audiences everywhere.God bless you.🌹❤
What a great pleasure to listen to this gentleman and his music. Why haven`t we heard him on US radio?
Met Joe when I was about 10 years old, Granada Brixton and our back garden backed onto the theatre, one night Joe Brown used our garden as an escape from the fan,He was so tall and a lovely man ... brilliant memory
Brilliant.
Great performance by Joe.
All great performers, Chas and Dave, and Joe!
With the news today of the passing of Chas Hodges i dont think there could be a better epitaph than this...............

Fantastic love Joe , great tribute to Chas n Dave . Great mandolin !
I love Joe and his music. He definitely should be Sir Joe Brown ☺️
A classic singer with a classic song. Rock on Joe 😎🐸👍.
Great guitarist. Pobably made the best English country record in his #1hit 'A Picture Of You.' Always liked him and my respect and estimation for him went up when I read Marty Robbins was his favourite country singer.
Me and my band seemed to follow Chas and Dave around the clubs in London!!!! ALWAYS, they were on the week BEFORE ME!!!!!
This looked like a great show with an appreciative Liverpudlian crowd, I'll See You In My Dreams was magic too Rock On Joe Cheers Jim, Surrey X
Lovely rendition of a great song
Saw him when he backed Status Quo, he sang his three songs from the George Harrison Memorial Concert, and being a big fan I was delighted I had a few tears in my eyes.
It is hard to fathom that there is anyone who would give these songs he does, a thumbs down. I guess we all appreciate different types of music. I don't really get it though.
Been watching Joe preform since the early 60's. He'll be back in my neck of the woods in May can't wait.
Quality! Thanks Joe for the lovely words about two top gents, God Bless Chas, RIP mate
