What I love about bands like joes .no fancy clothes .no fancy sets .no electronics making you sound better than you are .just pure bloody talent..seen joe a few times what a great guy ..
I am sure the Late Great Jimmie Rodgers would approve of this. Joe did it parallel to Jimmie, who I may add is the greatest singer of that music ever, never to be equaled never mind overtaken.
Had the honour to play in a 55 personUkulele 'orchestra' organised by Joe's daughter Sam in Western Australia this year (2109); Sam was a riot just like her Dad. Strum-on Joe !
This was recorded by the late great Jimmy Rogers!! The Granddaddy of Country Music: recorded this in the 1930’s. I’m 75 now and living in the Midlands and my dear daddy brought me up on American Country Music. It was his song. His image was a hobo jumping the moving trains! I thought it was worth a mention. It was great hearing the wonderful, no frills, Joe Brown singing it! Wonderful! 👌👍🥰🤗xxx TCB ⚡️
Love Joe, ever since i was a little lad, always comes across as a really grounded guy, funny, talented, and an all round funny guy. He should be knighted, a proper music loving guy.Keep going Joe.
Just love everything he does a treasure to say the least I play his version of I'll see you in my dreams often and think of my friend I lost to cancer three years ago
Best live act of it's kind anywhere & the most underrated musician / entertainer for years. Long may he stay above ground & give joy to old codgers like me & co. Pedro.
I remember meeting Joe in a put out in the sticks down south, I think it was his local. I was only a young lad, about 19 I think, and Joe was absolutely sound to me, chatted to me like a friend would and I'd never met him before. Really humble and down to earth and that encounter has always stayed with me. Top bloke.
He was born at a small village SWABY near Sleaford, was told this by a next door neighbour while collecting potatoes back in the sixties, It does not matter where, HE IS ONE OF THE BEST Laid back and most loveable entertainers around, He ENTERTAINS how many of so called TV Entertainers could hold an audience LIVE like he can still today, keep going JOE.
Great ! I like Blind Blake for a solo version. My little sister was born in the same ward as Joe's daughter in (Howard's Road) East London: I remember my mum saying " That Joe Brown has got a lovely smile."-very well liked man. In the 'Iron Bridge Tavern' one night and Steve Marriott was good -naturedly moaning he wanted Joe there to help with the performance. Back then you felt part of something and there were so many good acts about-hardly any pubs open when I go back-all changed.
Read all your comments and can only conclude that the nicest people go to see the nicest live performers. And believe me I'm not taking the pis. Wished I'd been there for the good feeling.
How can anyone find a reason to give the thumbs down to this song? 16 are showing. All these guys are superb musicians along with great singing. OK if its not your style of music just move on but don't be stupid enough to thumb down talent
