Christmas Nights. Hands-down winner for atmosphere and presents to collect and unlock options. That feature was missing from the XBLA and PSN versions of the re-releases. It wasn't even an option to choose. A glaring oversight. I realize its more of a demo, but well deserved to be on the list just because of the gba bonus nights level and Nights pinball from Sonic Adventure.
For the sake of nostalgia, I'd say the Saturn version. I got it for Christmas the year it came out, with the 3D controller bundled in, and it blew my mind as a 15-year-old whose previous 3D experiences only existed in (then) modern arcade games. That said, I was very impressed with how the PS3 version improved on the visuals without reinventing the game, and the inclusion of Christmas NiGHTS in that version was a very nice bonus.
2 things; 1)Nights seems to be the type of game in that the better and more refined it looks the less charm it has. It was a graphical and gameplay feat for the Saturn that anything after that seems to cheapen the wow factor 2)I never knew the Wii one existed and wow, it looks awesome!! Looks like the same gameplay with better camera angles and background.
I never had a Sega Saturn but remember the TV commercials. Plus I somehow ended up with the demo of this game for the Sega Saturn. The music was playable on a regular CD player. Which was some cool music to at least listen too. I thought this game was only made for the Sega Saturn. I think the Saturn version has the most charm. The graphics were amazing for that time. The other versions might have higher resolution. But the look of the Saturn's 3D is unique.
Just got the CD soundtrack for this game in the mail today at 1:40p.m. and it's the "NiGHTS into dreams... Perfect Album" CD and I'm listening to it while watching this! 11:26p.m. 2/5/2025
Nights appears very basic to start with but it's all about the replay - once you break the idea capture and activate the bonus mode you keep gathering orbs while the clock runs down while performing stunts to get that score up - returning to the idea palace just before the clock runs out - then learning how to speed kill the bosses to get X2 multiplier at the end. It becomes very addictive once you figure out all the scoring tricks. WR scores are astoundingly high.

I was thinking the Christmas mode was unlockable, just not the Sonic into Dreams mode.
@Adamwinters it is unlockable. Tye present matching game is not included so it's missing some things.

The Reala theme remix in the Wii version is incredible. Highly recommend giving it a listen.
You kinda contradict yourself. The Wii version is way too refined! The game has lost its charm.

I wish the wii one had more time put into! They left so many things out!
It’s one of the best games and I still remember seeing the game and playing it a long time ago

Hoping this come to the switch with some good graphics 🙏
When Nights goes into a ring, It makes the sound Kocos when they step around.
Fue mi primer juego de Saturn, es genial y hermoso... me hizo olvidar la tristeza de aquellos años cuando se canceló "Sonic X-Treme"...
Que juego tan hermoso...
What a beautiful game...
Gracias por el vídeo!
Can you make a "Block Out" comparison video? It's like a 3D Tetris game, kind of interesting.
Underrated gem
why is it underrated?
@@jasonlee7816 not so many ppl played it or even know it exists
Nights into Dreamland of Kirby Next development Nights&Kirby !!
Great art style.
This game at 30fps is a CRIME.
Looks like the original Saturn version is different from the "Saturn" version on the HD releases.

Not having analog Controlling ruins it for me. I do wish on a third or maybe at least Part one and two on the Switch (with analog).
It was analog on Saturn with the 3D pad.

Just too sugary for my taste. Otherwise too straight forward.
