Can't believe this video is out there, I was at this show! Mike Patton was just cruising around the knitting factory before the show, and I'm telling my buddy Jake, "dude, that's Mike Patton right there with the slicked back hair and army T-shirt" unreal show, such a small club and Buckethead and Mike Patton right there. Thanks for posting this, gave life to a great memory
I was there too, also met Patton on the floor while Lucky Stars played (I had a college radio show named after a Bungle song at the time). Really great and unique show. At some point when Buckethead was putting on a new guitar the audience was quiet except for one guy who yelled "Strap it on, bitch." Everyone was laughing including Patton.
Too bad there was never an album. One supergroup that would be sick style wise would be: Mike Patton- Vocals/Electronics Les Claypool- Bass/vocals Buckethead- Guitar Brain-Drums Bernie-Keyboards
hollly shit I was at this show I never expected to see it on youtube. I got the pick buckethead used at that show (well one of the many he used). patton and buckethead are the gods of music.
When the fuck is Patton gonna join Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, thereby forming the greatest possible group of avant garde musicians alive today?!
DUDE, IF U GOT MORE PLEASE POST!!!!!!!!!!!! i've been looking for this ever since i started listen to mike patton or buckethead.... PLEASE post if u have more :D
I wonder if more video footage of this exists? I have the Mp3s and always wondered if there was vid. Patton has been my favorite singer since 89 and Buckethead my fav guitar player since 91 when I got Praxis Transmutation. Than had them special order the Japanese Import of Bucketheadland. Vai was my favorite until I discovered the Buckethead. It was about time these two got toghether and tore shit up. Patton was on the last Praxis aswell
MIKE PATTON is GOD. He's the most talented and diverse frontman in the history of music....PERIOD. There is nothing he that he can't do or won't do. And if he hasn't done it yet.....HE WILL. DISPROVE THAT. HAPPY 2016!!!!
Only on the surface, because when it comes to the most important gift a frontman must possess he doesn't truly excel, and that is charisma. The one thing that makes you an icon and a leader of the generation. Something Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and even Kurt Cobain possess...
the most important thing? Come on man lets be serious charisma is a small percentage of what makes a frontman great. The music will always be front and center. That's why I agree with you when you say, Hendrix, cause it was the music. Kurt was a moody man-child really. I'd go so far to say he was an asshole at times. Morrison I'd say was more of an artist in that he was a great wordsmith. Patton is an incredible talent who is not afraid to try something new. Similar to Serj who is another not afraid to try something new. That makes a great frontman. Pushing boundaries.
OH GOD!!!!.......WHAT' is this from???? Is it just me, OR is this a fucking DREAM COME TRUE!! I have never seen anything like this...with Patton/Buckethead...and I LOVE it! If anyone knows what DVD this is on, PLEASE "Reply."....THANKS!!!
Faith no more were a rarity because they managed to be very simple and pop a lot of the time yet retain a great individuality to there sound, which is actually more difficult than being different in this way and saying its more valid because its avant garde, fact is this music probably would never be mainstreem and you would hate it if it was, mike patton is probably one of the most well known experimental artists of recent years, so in this genre he IS relatively mainstreem
I just wish they'd try it again. The album they put out together wasn't too great quality. They need to harmonize their fucking whacked out experiments. Love em both to death.
YES. it's a black dunlop tortex and i believe it's a hard. his mike stand had a strip of tape down it with about 12 picks stuck to it so he could grab one off right away if he lost it.
it's just one concert as far as anyone knows. Supposedly there is an audio of it, full video is unknown. If anyone DOES have it, then it's hidden in some closet
So fuckin' crazy! I never understood how Patton could work with people like Buckethead and Maximum Bob and he never wound up doing anything with Claypool. Except maybe talking shit about him.
What does Patton says in this song? Sorry, my English is not the best, as you see, and i can't understand what Mike sings in this rare -but cool- song... Thanks Everybody
this was either 1982, 83 or 1986. time to ; for, how do, on some back ground. add effect and such later. fast foward, and whats..... aeni` Mika`eL Vixk de la Row -Ka Marcianou D'Anginou Phoenix River Johnny Depp
Really?? I mean.. really?? One of the best guitarists teams up with one of the best vocalists and THIS is what they come up with? Hoo haaa shackk shacckk hooo hep hep..
I don't think you should avoid music because its classed as mainstreem, you should be honest to yourself about what you enjoy, in someways this music is boring, in otherwords its not especially anthemic or exciting, its experimentation which is fine, I think there is room for more traditionally structured music aswell,
dude, faith no more put out some good music, but i checked out fatomas and tomahawk and that shit is hard to listen to. maybe its an aquired taste. as for patton, his muscial genius attitude gets a little old although i love his voice. no monkees or steppenwolf here. i'll stick with zeppelin, rush and tool!
Funny: Buckethead dropped his bucket near the end of vid .. could'v cost 'm his 'identity-mysterytrademark' that made him famous .. Better use glue or nailgun next gig to B sure 🤘
too far out there? Most musicians are idiots who are just slaves to a trend. They pump out 2 or 3 popular albums, the trend goes away and then...sweet silence and a break from mediocrity. Patton is above and beyond what most musicians are.
wtf.......patton disses wolfmother, and plays shit like this......yuck......if zepplin disses wolfmother i understand, but most of pattons music is too far out there and not really good music at all by most musicians standards......when patton gets in the rock and roll hall of fame (never) give me a call

Too bad there was never an album. One supergroup that would be sick style wise would be:
Mike Patton- Vocals/Electronics
Les Claypool- Bass/vocals
Buckethead- Guitar
Brain-Drums
Bernie-Keyboards
Bernie Sanders would be a sick keysmith.
If only I was made aware of this awesomeness when I was younger...thank the Lord for video recording
Dude! This was a historic show! I am proud to say I was in attendance.

Also, how does he not have charisma? Have you not seen the MTV sandwich interview? He's goddamn hilarious!
He cant sing traditional music. For example he cant sing turkish türkü (thats we called) or azeri muğam or persian tahrir or qawwali.
Mutlucan Şıhman
Obviously you've never heard him sing Italian Operatic. He literally sings everything.
Epic.
OH GOD!!!!.......WHAT' is this from????
Is it just me, OR is this a fucking DREAM COME TRUE!! I have never seen anything like this...with Patton/Buckethead...and I LOVE it!

What does Patton says in this song?
Sorry, my English is not the best, as you see, and i can't understand what Mike sings in this rare -but cool- song...
Thanks Everybody

Does Buckethead's guitar have price tags on it?

@ZappaHermeto .... uh.... Patton and Claypool? Where?
ya dude i have no idea lol
Two of my favorite artists come together to make pure dogshit noise.
Just the way I like it, noisy, rude and chaotic
Dogshit noise is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to move forward right now. I'm not kidding or being sarcastic. Fucking around will bring a new sound.
Maybe because of its high similarity with Fantomas? O_o
Brain? What about Herb. I thought it was pretty obvious Primus downgraded with the addition of Brain.
Hehe, I like Bucketheads W guitar.
I would'nt say that Claypool eats shit...but Trevor Dunn IS A FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!
who the hell is DJ flare?
this was either 1982, 83 or 1986. time to ; for, how do, on some back ground. add effect and such later. fast foward, and whats..... aeni` Mika`eL Vixk de la Row -Ka Marcianou D'Anginou Phoenix River Johnny Depp
Fiona Abigael Apple O0 this was in the late 90s
I don't find that Primus downgraded but its true that Herb was a better addition to the band!
It's Normal speed dude.
well then again he switched guitars
... dude...
@AntiChris1996 and you are a cute boy chris ;)
lol buckethead does NOT blow
Really?? I mean.. really?? One of the best guitarists teams up with one of the best vocalists and THIS is what they come up with? Hoo haaa shackk shacckk hooo hep hep..

Maarten Js his skill made him famous, the bucket is just an identity. don't hate on buckets genius
too far out there? Most musicians are idiots who are just slaves to a trend. They pump out 2 or 3 popular albums, the trend goes away and then...sweet silence and a break from mediocrity. Patton is above and beyond what most musicians are.
Horrible video
Stop this instant...that sounds like horse shit!
maybe you're a little more boring, a little more close minded, a little more main stream than you think you are
wtf.......patton disses wolfmother, and plays shit like this......yuck......if zepplin disses wolfmother i understand, but most of pattons music is too far out there and not really good music at all by most musicians standards......when patton gets in the rock and roll hall of fame (never) give me a call
