Good comparison. Given you compare battery life between HD with 3 cells battery and 4k with 6 cells, I would have also mentioned that there is another considerable difference in that scenario, particularly for people who deal a lot with video footage and raw files. Installing the smaller battery allows for fitting in a secondary hard drive, alongside the M.2 SSD. This makes a huge difference in access speed and reliability compared to using an external hard drive.
Good idea. Actually, I would be curious to know if your board does have any connector for a secondary hard disk at all. I read that on models shipping with the larger battery, DELL removed the connector so even switching to a smaller battery in itself does not solve the problem. Some suggested that it is easy to add the connector but I am not quite sure if that is the case.
Aldo Tanca i think its always better more battery for content creation, i mean content creator always travel and its easier to pay the extra memory on you main drive than less battery, i mean there are 2gbs ssd out there and you have extra battery at the same time, 2 drives make it no sense since you can have only one with bigger memory and that 3 extra hours of battery :)

www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/5otmir/an_approximation_of_the_difference_between_x2_x4/ I will get a eGPU in soon enough I hope and thank you for watching
The thunderbolt will only allow you to use 20gbps and the egpu needs 40gbps. The thunderbolt splits the 40gbps in two...something like that I read. Also, egpus that use thunderbolt are throttled due to the thunderbolt so the gpu is not used to full potential...like 40% less fps. Look up the "razer core egpu enclosure" for more information before making that purchase.
I've had the 9560 4K version for about 2 weeks. Absolutely zero regrets. I bought the 8GB/256GB model and upgraded the RAM/SSD myself to 32GB/1TB. I love my XPS 15!

Yes, of course. Everyone should already know the difference between 4K and HD. ;-) After I got the Dell XPS 15 home it didn't take me long to realize that I had quite definitely made the right choice! A lot of what I do is photo editing with Photoshop/Lightroom CC and video editing with DaVinci Resolve. I love this computer and the 4K screen has to be seen to appreciate how good it is.

Again... You're the only one who keeps answering everyone's questions! Boom! You rock
Thanks for the video! I've been wondering about the differences between the two screen options for a while, and you made up my mind for sure. Subscribed!
Thanks a lot for this comparison. Im a high end retoucher and photographer, if anyone is in a similar position could you chime in, is it better to have the 4K or the FHD. Obviously this video shows the 4K is beautiful, but i read from few reviewers that supposedly FHD has better color accuracy and 4K is oversaturated. Im moving away from my iMac and need a portable workstation and this XPS lools like it. Thank you!
Western Gents United 😂 Yes, well lets not waste time on their politics today and pricing but this is what happens when you become too greedy of a company and the PC market really caught up in the esthetics department with the obviously more powerful hardware for way less. Thanks again for great videoss especially on XPS which you made so many and answered all my questions. Great channel ✌️
I really wish I could describe it better, but I definitely prefer the Matte. I very seriously want to convert all of my laptops to matte. I know it's less crystal clear, but there's a "softness" liquidity to the colors, and I really love it and think it enhances the viewing experiences. When these glossy screens we're all using now starting getting big, I kinda didn't realize what was bugging me about my newer laptops. Then it hit me...oh, the screen is shiny. It's not even a thing of the reflections, I can actually live with that. I just love/miss the colors on matte. I just set up my old Inspiron D630 from 2008 and I prefer its matte look to my 2017 Inspiron 15 3567!
I may need to replace the panel on a 9560 I have bought for real cheap, and both LCD panels are similarly priced right now. I have experienced the 4k, and I love the blacks and flush bezels. I think I will get that if I need to change the panel. Thanks for the very helpful video!
Thank you so much for your videos! It would be really nice if you can do a video about how one should set up a new xps 15 9560! I am getting a new xps 15 and I don't see many videos about how to set up a xps (like what are the optimal settings and how to clean up the crapware) on RUclips just yet. Just thought some people might also be interested in seeing this kind of video. Anyways, keep up the good work!!!
I originally bought the full HD 9560, but had issues with blue screens, so I returned it. I debated trying another one, but found that there really isn't anything out there in this form factor, so I opted to buy the 4k version and I am glad I did. It is fantastic!
i m photographer and i m testing the 4k version for 2 days OMG it s insanely good. colors and sharpness are unbelievable. i m rediscovering my pictures
Very useful video. I am so glad I came across this. Don't know if you'll see this, as old as this video is, but if you do, maybe you can share some updated thoughts regarding the choice I am facing here in 2023. I am going to get the Dell XPS 17 9730 with the Intel gen 13 i7 chip (maybe the i5), the 4050 or 4060 graphics card (leaning towards 4060 though don't know if I need that), 16GB RAM and 512GB SSDI (both upgradeable), and Windows 11 home. Am torn between the FHD+ or the 4k UHD+ display (leaning towards the 4k HUD+). I would like the better battery life of the FHD+, but everything else suggests the 4k UHD+. I noticed in your comparison the clarity of the 4k was much greater, no little lines seen as with the FHD+ in the close up shots. And I'm thinking there might be an even bigger difference in the 17" displays. I do not do gaming or video or music edition, just a lot of normal stuff online, streaming stock quotes and charts, streaming movies, many chrome tabs open, youtube while other things stream in the background that I click back and forth between often, and long hours 7 days a week on the laptop. I could save a lot of money getting the gen 13 i5, the 4050 and the FHD+, but the sweet spots seems to be the gen 13 i7, either the 4050 or 4060, and the 4k UHD+ display. Help. I'd welcome your or anyone's thoughts on any of this. I'm pretty set on the i7, but the 4050 (with 6 cores) and the 4060 (with 8 cores) is my biggest question mark. I wonder for instance if the 4060 is even necessary for my use cases and that maybe the 4050 might run cooler and get better battery life, with almost similar or similar performance for my use cases. Any thoughts on the 4050 vs 4060 choice, and the FHD+ vs 4k UHD+, when it comes to the larger 17" display size?
@@--9199 I actually haven't bought yet. Something came up. Expect to do so within the next month or two. I have slightly altered my plan though. The above stays the same except that I am now thinking I'll increase the RAM and get 32 GB RAM instead of just 16 GB RAM. And I am leaning more firmly towards the 4k UHD+ and the 3060 graphics.
awesome man! Can you compare between the 9570 versions? I think they changed it to make them brighter, less reflectivev, and less ghosting. It'd be great if you could go over that! Thanks!
Just a suggestion 5:10 ish, when talking about one of the models you should keep the footage on the relevant model. It gets kind of confusing when your talking about the matte full hd viewing angles when your showing the angles on the 4k
That is a really good review, thanks! May i just find out from you for the 4k version, will the screen ghost or images turn blurry when watching movies or youtube videos that has fast motions?
Thanks for the comparison. It ws very helpful. I'm currently shopping for the 9500 and I'm interested in whether the text on icons, system, and some apps is smaller with the UHD screen (60 and need reading glasses for some things). I am aware that they are adustable, but would love a comparison for text (icons, MS Word, Excel) etc.
Hi, I wanted your opinion. I want to buy an ultrabook 2 in 1 (around 1000usd). I need it for productivity. Can you please suggest the best ultrabook? Amd ryzen 7 4800u /5800 u 16gb ram, 512gb ssd 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits, 100% srgb
well done. really useful comparison. was worried about the glare but seems not critical. Graphics cards are a bit disappointing on these. Is it possible to upgrade on your own?
Can you do a video talking about all the driver problems and how to fix and make the laptop run as fast/best as possible. I got my new xps 15 9560 4K only a week ago and when just browsing the Internet it often stops responding, and often freezes for a few seconds when doing minimal tasks. Thanks, keep up the good vids WGU
had the same problem while browsing on chrome. It was a problem with nvidia driver 378.66 which was bugged with the gtx 1050. You can fix it disabling gpu acceleration on chrome or just doing a fresh install of windows and installing nvidia driver up to 378.44 and not .66
Thanks for sharing. I always use Chrome and don't plan to change that actually. I'm thinking of buying this laptop and doing some research. Also not very savvy with laptops, but did change my HDD to SSD and added extra RAM myself. So my question is, is it difficult to do this for a not very savvy person?
great video, OMG, having recently purchased a 2018 dell 15 9570, recently I was not made aware of a swelling battery issue. I am curious as to know if you have hade to replace the battery at all and how long are the batteries rated to last? Was there any error and or alert that the Windows OS gave you in your discovery of the battery problem, that is did you perform a diagnostic which informed you prior? This really sucks, to where I may now consider returning the laptop for this reason. Thanks
Edge bowser is optimize for touchscreen and smooth scrolling. I've notice this on my surface pro 3 when using Edge browser over chrome browser however, there is add-on SmoothScroll which does help to some extend.
Gunn get the 4 k model and run an external monitor off it permanently. I'm done with big bulky towers. That way I have a desktop and laptop that will slam video and photos editing and pretty much anything I throw at it. Thanks for this review.
Thanks for the video mate. Would you say the 4k would be better for watchinf Netflix on, or would it not make much difference? I'm buying onsnof these versions in a few days and this would make a difference to me. Thanks
I've been leaning towards a Dell XPS 15 and wondered about the screen comparison. This really helps. Although I'd like to have the 4k I can't really afford the nearly $400. I'm sure the HD screen will be a huge improvement since I've been working on a 1300x760 for the past 5 years. lol. Thanks a lot!
it's pretty simple: Download ThrottleStop -> Click FIVR -> Click Unlock Adjustable Voltage -> set Offset Voltage to -100mv, do the same for CPU cache, done.
Why not, it improves battery life and temperatures, worst case scenario you may get a BSOD. As far i know the hardware cannot be damaged by undervolting
fttx so what u mean bsod its not bad? You could short the motherboard actually and that would not be good at all. Trust me i did that with my toshiba qosmio and i did it like -80mv i think. But also remember the screen on this laptop draws some power so i would suggest to just stick to stock it has a good battery life
Thanks for answer! So I should go with 4K? I've asked people on the forums, and the reaction are 50/50. Right now I'm in a dilemma =) I don't need it for photo or video editing, just office stuff, browsing, movies and light gaming (StarCraft II and CS Go)
Hey mate. that's a really nice review. Just wondering if you can give your input about the XPS 15 vs the HP Zbook equivalent (i'd ay the 15u G4) Cna you tell me if Dell edges over the HP? ALso with the XPS 13 are there RAM upgrades that you can do?
I see that you've also used MacBook Pro which are glossy screens. How do you feel the 9560 4K compares to the MacBook Pro screen in terms of reflections? I've never noticed MBP reflections, but, I heard one person saying the 9560 reflections are very noticeable. What do you think?
+Cody Konior I would say if anything the Mac is marginally better. I have not had a issue with either in terms of reflections. The reality is if any glossy screen is at a dark scene and the light is bright enough at the right angle you will see reflections. In normal indoor lighting conditions with a normal bright screen, you won't notice it.
I bought a dell xps 15” with the highest specs three months ago. And I had so many troubles it’s unbelievable. The laptop worked very well in the beginning except for a few flaw in the screen (light bleed). Anyways, three months later it crashed intermittently every 10 minutes until the hard drive was completely unreachable. And Dell, there the slowest company to get things fixed. It’s been a month now and they haven’t fixed it yet.
Montreal, Canada. I called both their french and english customer services. Same result: I have to be patient. I think they don't take home users seriously because they're not the biggest part of their sales in Canada.
Hi! I noticed that in the 4k version the Windos menu appears to be smaller in size. I'm buying a Dell notebook with a 4k screen this weekend. I ask you for advice: is it true that all window and menu writing will be very small in size? A friend of mine told me that if I try to enlarge it the writing will be blurred and there is no alternative but to have everything small. Sorry for my English. Thanks for the reply 😊
Ayo, jus for a heads up for any new comer. The blur app is due to scaling. Just like a normal small icon, if you scale it big, it will become blurry, however, 70% of these problems are solvable by windows itself. These problems happen because the developer didn't account for the 4k resolution screen, thus, the problem. And no the small icon and everything can still be enlarge to a normal FHD screen no problem.
Wish one you recommend for playing some games? What screen has the better refresh rates? And I didn't catch the ssd thing, wish one is faster, Toshiba or Samsung?
Oh my gosh.!!! Ive been struggling for day because of this. 😭😭😭 im torn between the xps 17 16gb ram 512 gb ssd 4k uhd touch screen or xps 32gb ram 1tb ssd fhd non touch. I guess ill go for the uhd toucg.
Greetings from Vietnam Tally Ho, I love your straight forward reviews. Is there any chance you could compare HP Omen 15 with Lenovo Legion 15. I’m trying to find a moderately priced laptop that will run MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIM 2020 and general home use, e.g. web browsing, and emails, I’m living in small town Vietnam (don’t speak the lingo) so I have no chance to compare for myself. It will be mail order. Thank you.
Hi! Nice video mate. Two questions here: 1. Which screen is brighter both on paper and in real life? 2. Does the 4K look good compared to the FHD when set to 1080p? Can you spot any difference for better or worse even slightly? Thanks and keep up the good work!
+TRiBaL81 The FHD is supposed to be brighter but in real world can't tell much difference. FHD content looks good on the 4K display as long as it's good content to start with crappy 1080p video will still look crappy.
Hi mate, great job on the video. I've heard you saying in the video some Dell XPS 15 units ship with a slower Toshiba SSD rather than a faster Samsung SSD. Thus I'm wondering - how can I identify the manufacturer of my SSD without downloading 3rd party software? Are there any solutions built in to Windows 10? Instructions concerning the identification process of my XPS 15's SSD would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Could you please make a vídeo suggesting the most adequate dock stations for this model? Dell TB 16 is out there ... but still not many reviews though ... I'm mostly interested in the ethernet por and having more USBs available
Is the 4K screen comparable to Macbook pro? I am looking for a new laptop with a better display to read/work directly on the laptop. I usually work via connected monitors and can't stand the screen of my existing Dell 5500 series.
Any opinions on the functionality of the touchscreen? I've been considering fhd vs 4k for quite some time and I can't for the life of me figure what I'd use the touchscreen for. Battery life is more important to me so fhd is appealing but that 4K screen is a beauty. Basically I need you to soft sell me on the touchscreen lol. I'm willing to pay more but I'd like to feel justified in owning a touchscreen laptop.
+Intelligentleman For mine the 4k is the way to go. The FHD is good but your not going to be blown away like when you see the 4k. Touch on a 15", I never use it and I turn it off. You get 7+ hours with the 4k and with optimisations you can get even more battery life. I switched to 1080 res and got over 8 hours battery. I guess it's up to in the end. Let us know which way you go.
Western Gents United Thanks for the quick response! Really helpful. I'm actually in store right now staring at the 4k. You're right, it's too good to pass up. As a follow up question, do you have any opinion/knowledge on Microsoft's signature feature? Does it really get rid of all the bloatware or should I just do a clean install? Thanks a lot. 95% sure I'm gonna go with the 16 gb ram 512 gb storage setup but I want to sleep on it one more night.
Thats funny I am doing a video on making you PC a signature version. Which your right if you do a fresh install will basically make your PC a signature version.
Have you noticed one side of your UHD display is slightly warmer/cooler in color temp than the other? I can only make it out with a white background and only if I really look. Not sure if I'm crazy.
Wondering how you got the background colors to match on both screens? Due to the UHD, doesnt it have a different interpretation of the sRGB spectrum. My UHD screen is far more saturated in color with the exception of color managed programs. Thoughts?
Yeh I guess the colour look tuned the same but the UHD has more contrast , sharper, deeper colours and more vivid like you say. I guess the camera and RUclips compression.
It's beautiful as hell "I get it" but for that price tag I could have a fully decked out gaming rig with 10x the power & still have some money left over.
Showing a video of a 4k and 1080p laptop side to side will never be a good way of showing how things actually look. It's just not possible to see the actual differences as they look pretty much identical, but in real life there's a huge difference.
@@TallyHoTech Thank you for this comparison video. It's exactly what I was looking for except that I'm more interested in the 2018 version. Do you know yet whether the Full HD version of the 2018 XPS 15 has a lip/bezel around the display like what you described on the 2017 Full HD XPS 15? I like how the 4k version doesn't have this lip/bezel.
I find the 4k laptop s colors way more pleasing to the eye. Feels like there's a wider range of colors. Is that just me of is it due to the higher resolution? I appreciate rich and vivid colors way more than resolution/refresh rate. For example, should I get the alienware m15 with the 4k 60hz panel or 144hz 1080p? the 1080p has 72% color gamut while the 4k has 100% color gamut. I dont want to spend a huge amount of money on a laptop and then regret it.

Thank you!
You will love it and bad Apple for making you leave
Western Gents United 😂 Yes, well lets not waste time on their politics today and pricing but this is what happens when you become too greedy of a company and the PC market really caught up in the esthetics department with the obviously more powerful hardware for way less. Thanks again for great videoss especially on XPS which you made so many and answered all my questions. Great channel ✌️
So you got the 4k or fhd?
@wickedINI what did you decide to get and how did it work out?
Go for the 4k one, people. Its mesmerizing!
+Alex Kalis Agree there :)
Alex Kalis how is the battery life of 4k?
about 6 hours on my 5510 4K with the new 97Whr battery
What about the ghosting?
My xps is 4k multitouch and I cant even watch online or offline 4k video.. money spent on this is a waste.
Yer good points
I switch even my touch screen for matte and dont regretted, now I could be on my computer all day and I feel more productive.
Happy to hear that. Just got the matte one but keep wondering whether it was the right choice.
Goddamn, your comparison videos are a godsend for those who are looking for every pro / con of the two displays. thanks for this
I may need to replace the panel on a 9560 I have bought for real cheap, and both LCD panels are similarly priced right now. I have experienced the 4k, and I love the blacks and flush bezels. I think I will get that if I need to change the panel. Thanks for the very helpful video!
great screen review and comparison. exactly what i was looking for
Sweet
Thank you so much for your videos! It would be really nice if you can do a video about how one should set up a new xps 15 9560! I am getting a new xps 15 and I don't see many videos about how to set up a xps (like what are the optimal settings and how to clean up the crapware) on RUclips just yet. Just thought some people might also be interested in seeing this kind of video. Anyways, keep up the good work!!!
+Hongchang Zhu Cheers mate and I am just working on that video.
Excellent review well thought through bravo bravo.
saved up for this computer for half a year! Its finally arrived and its pretty damn awesome! :D
+Fluffy Domo Awesome. Don't forget to share your experience
comparison starts at 1:35
I originally bought the full HD 9560, but had issues with blue screens, so I returned it. I debated trying another one, but found that there really isn't anything out there in this form factor, so I opted to buy the 4k version and I am glad I did. It is fantastic!
+Cole Regal Sweet. You're right nothing beats it at this moment. Thanks for sharing.
Im thinking about doing this too, I am returning the Full HD model but i might wanna get the 4K model. Do you have any gaming experience?
I have none on this laptop...
Женя Дедов explain your comment.
why?
i m photographer and i m testing the 4k version for 2 days OMG it s insanely good. colors and sharpness are unbelievable. i m rediscovering my pictures
Yes it is insane right :)
What about the glossy display? I'm uncertain about that because every photographers told me the Matte panel of the fullHD is better.. Help me please
Andrea Serra that's what I was wondering too! But on the other hand; all the macs has glossy screens too
Rick Leeman yep you're right.. So I'll buy the 4k one
Thanks WGU for the XPS reviews!
Thumbs up for using Navagio Beach as a comparison wallpaper ; )
+Symeon Dionysis Cheers mate. Is that where it is. All I know is its a awesome image.
One of the most beautiful places in Greece.Indeed, the image is ideal!
Just got my 4k XPS 15. By far the best computer I've ever owned.
Awesome, thanks for sharing
I'd be interested in seeing a XPS15 vs HP Spectre X360 15 comparison between the 4k screens. Another great video, Gent.
+HustleHabit I hope to do that soon
Western Gents United Tally. Ho.
Some apps still works bad with 4K displays on Win 10. Thanx for the comparison thou! )
I hardly ever see it these days but there will be some older ones
veeeeeeeeeery helpful! thanks a lot
Welcome
I wish they would sell the i9 with FHD and the smaller battery in germany.... would love the the extra disk... great review as always
cool review!
Getting FHD soon , don't forget with 4k you'll have lots of problems with many apps and size of photos/videos.
nice
Also, i think FHD came with 1TB and the 4K with 512GB, So I will go for the FHD
And what did you choose?
Cheers mate taken aboard
Nice review. I like the color lighting under the table :) How did you set that up? Can you share what it is.
+in2mindstation Just a Ikea Led strip behind the cabinet 👍
That is a really good review, thanks! May i just find out from you for the 4k version, will the screen ghost or images turn blurry when watching movies or youtube videos that has fast motions?
+Panyu Not for me, movies look great even with action
Thanks for the comparison. It ws very helpful. I'm currently shopping for the 9500 and I'm interested in whether the text on icons, system, and some apps is smaller with the UHD screen (60 and need reading glasses for some things). I am aware that they are adustable, but would love a comparison for text (icons, MS Word, Excel) etc.
Hi, I wanted your opinion. I want to buy an ultrabook 2 in 1 (around 1000usd). I need it for productivity. Can you please suggest the best ultrabook?
Amd ryzen 7 4800u /5800 u
16gb ram, 512gb ssd
16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits, 100% srgb
well done. really useful comparison. was worried about the glare but seems not critical. Graphics cards are a bit disappointing on these. Is it possible to upgrade on your own?
+Tim Ogletree Cheers mate. You can't update the graphics only solution is a eGPU.
You can fix it disabling gpu acceleration on chrome or just doing a fresh install of windows and installing nvidia driver up to 378.44 and not .66
Try using edge, chromes GPU rendering is playing up
Thanks for sharing. I always use Chrome and don't plan to change that actually. I'm thinking of buying this laptop and doing some research. Also not very savvy with laptops, but did change my HDD to SSD and added extra RAM myself. So my question is, is it difficult to do this for a not very savvy person?
pinguloide use firefox. Text looks so much better anyway.
Yeah new firefox and yes edge blow away chrome GPU rendering but hopefully chrome catches up
great video, OMG, having recently purchased a 2018 dell 15 9570, recently I was not made aware of a swelling battery issue. Thanks
Nice reviews of the new XPS line. Do you plan to review new Dell Inspiron 7000 laptops?
Stay tuned, definitely looking at that.
Great job!
TB3 test? eGPU maybe? My XPS15 is on the way and should arrive next week.
I wonder about that thing.
Here you go www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/5otmir/an_approximation_of_the_difference_between_x2_x4/
I will do a video when I get one
Edge bowser is optimize for touchscreen and smooth scrolling. I've notice this on my surface pro 3 when using Edge browser over chrome browser however, there is add-on SmoothScroll which does help to some extend.
Why has he only got 32k subs? he should be at 100k by now
Thanks, your video was really helpful
Cheers 🥂
for any ghosting issues simply turn off panel refresh!
hehhe
Gunn get the 4 k model and run an external monitor off it permanently. I'm done with big bulky towers. That way I have a desktop and laptop that will slam video and photos editing and pretty much anything I throw at it. Thanks for this review.
+Dominic McMahon Yet nice way to go :) let us know how it goes
Thanks for the video mate. Would you say the 4k would be better for watchinf Netflix on, or would it not make much difference? I'm buying onsnof these versions in a few days and this would make a difference to me. Thanks
I've been leaning towards a Dell XPS 15 and wondered about the screen comparison. This really helps. Although I'd like to have the 4k I can't really afford the nearly $400. I'm sure the HD screen will be a huge improvement since I've been working on a 1300x760 for the past 5 years. lol. Thanks a lot!
hello ! Great video! But still not sure, how both are matt or glossy? Meaning to bring it outside for picture ' s work
Great video! What is the pink laptop holder?
+Sarah Perrin From IKEA
To get more battery life i've undervolted my 9550, is it possible to do that on 9560?
I cant see why not but I have not tried it. It has good battery life anyway :)
it's pretty simple: Download ThrottleStop -> Click FIVR -> Click Unlock Adjustable Voltage -> set Offset Voltage to -100mv, do the same for CPU cache, done.
should i do that with my xps 13 for better battery life? I use it for school work and content consumption.
But also remember the screen on this laptop draws some power so i would suggest to just stick to stock it has a good battery life
Thanks..this has helped. I need the Adobe RGB gamut here
Very nice comparison 👍
Thanks for video! Still, which one do you recommend for gaming (StarCraft II, CS Go)? How about scaling? People say that there can be problems with 4K
+Vyacheslav Moshin Jr 4k is the way ;) scaling is a issue that hardly comes up now but there may be some obscure apps that are not updated.
Thanks for answer! So I should go with 4K? I've asked people on the forums, and the reaction are 50/50. Right now I'm in a dilemma =) I don't need it for photo or video editing, just office stuff, browsing, movies and light gaming (StarCraft II and CS Go)
+Vyacheslav Moshin Jr trust me the 4k is next level. I explained as much as I could in the video. I guess it's up to you now ;)
Hey mate. that's a really nice review. Just wondering if you can give your input about the XPS 15 vs the HP Zbook equivalent (i'd ay the 15u G4) Cna you tell me if Dell edges over the HP?
ALso with the XPS 13 are there RAM upgrades that you can do?
+psidhu1979 OK you can't upgrade the XPS 13's ram the XPS 15 you can and I would definitely get the XPS 15 over the Z book it's just sexier
Sounds good to me mate cheers
+Youmna Badawy Ahh that unfortunate. Where are you from? That’s unusual for Dell in my experience.
Great informative video, thanks!
+Joe M Welcome, thanks for watching
Any news about the new Asus Zenbook Pro 4K with 1060 GPU?
+Derek Louster Asus day they are getting some stuff to look at soon, fingers crossed
Good one mate, your accent seems like Greek-Australian. Is it right?
+mpgrewal00 Yes Apo, spot on
Wish one you recommend for playing some games? What screen has the better refresh rates? And I didn't catch the ssd thing, wish one is faster, Toshiba or Samsung?
Samsung is faster, very little in it to choose which is better for gaming, I generally recommend the 4k XPS 15
is the gaming review between the 9550 and 9560 coming up?
sidharth sunilkumar that would be a nice video
^^
??? THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME SLOW RESPONSE PANEL.. CS GO NOPE!
external panel if your really serious.
shame though 2017 laptops suckkkkk
Oh my gosh.!!! Ive been struggling for day because of this. 😭😭😭 im torn between the xps 17 16gb ram 512 gb ssd 4k uhd touch screen or xps 32gb ram 1tb ssd fhd non touch. I guess ill go for the uhd toucg.
Greetings from Vietnam Tally Ho, I love your straight forward reviews.
Is there any chance you could compare HP Omen 15 with Lenovo Legion 15.
I’m trying to find a moderately priced laptop that will run MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIM 2020 and general home use, e.g. web browsing, and emails,
I’m living in small town Vietnam (don’t speak the lingo) so I have no chance to compare for myself. It will be mail order.
Thank you.
Good review 👍
Thanks! 👍
Is their a difference in the colour accuracy???
RGB
Hi! Nice video mate. Two questions here:
FHD content looks good on the 4K display as long as it's good content to start with crappy 1080p video will still look crappy.
what about windows content? icons, fonts etc. i red somewhere that it looks a bit soft on the 4k when set to 1080. cheers
+TRiBaL81 Windows 10 scales well. Every no and then you will get a legacy app that does not scale well
Hi mate, great job on the video.
How can I identify the manufacturer of my SSD without prying open the laptop (and preferably without using 3rd party software), I should add
Just go to device manager if it does not say Samsung PM961 it will be a Toshiba or LiteOn
Western Gents United where exactly should it say Samsung PM961 in the Device Manager, in the Storage subcategory in the menu? Thanks a lot, mate.
Could you please make a vídeo suggesting the most adequate dock stations for this model? Dell TB 16 is out there ... but still not many reviews though ... I'm mostly interested in the ethernet por and having more USBs available
I'm looking into that atm the official Dell one is one I recommend
Hey mate, please comment on speakers of Lenovo 7i and XPS 17 - which one is better to your opinion? thnak you!!!
I edit photos and mainly video, do you recommend to buy the 2019 model with the 4K OLED or it is OK the 4K IPS of 2020 model?
How do you think the Dell 7590 compares to the new Gen 2 X1 Extreme? I like the Extreme because it has 2 NVME SSD slots and it's lighter.
If you put the 4k screen on 200% scaling will that only effect the size of the icons? or will it also effect videos you watch on youtube and stuff?
+Job de Leeuw Just the icon ect. Video will still be 4k
Is the 4K screen comparable to Macbook pro? I am looking for a new laptop with a better display to read/work directly on the laptop. I usually work via connected monitors and can't stand the screen of my existing Dell 5500 series.
Yes the new one would be better, sharper
Should I get this or the Lenovo Yoga 720? Can't decide!!!
+UnitedWeStand4EVR Na, Lenovo is a dual core right .
Western Gents United nooo Quad Core
brilliant video!
+Squidlings Cheers mate
Great! It really makes a difference not having all that junk imo. Can't wait to bring this beast home. Thanks again! Subbed and liked.
Nice video. I can't get your Windows 10 pro link to work, is the website down? :(
They are working on the site they told me
4k is worth every penny. Had 4k on dell's since they launched it and never looked back.
Is the 4k worth it? For the extra 400 dollars, I think It would be better to buy a separate 4k monitor..
For me YES! Next level
Have you noticed one side of your UHD display is slightly warmer/cooler in color temp than the other? I can only make it out with a white background and only if I really look. Not sure if I'm crazy.
+MASCULINE MCGAINS Very similar. I calibrated both and there was no notable difference
Western Gents United tally ho there chap: you mean the color is very similar? or your display has a similar lighting issue as mine?
+MASCULINE MCGAINS Oh I have not noticed two different colour temperatures on the 4k screen. That's the first I have heard of that
Thanks. I have the 4k but have ordered an FHD that I think I'll keep instead. :)
Do you think buying the extended insurance is necessary? I bought two years accidental and premium, but feel I should just get the 4K screen instead.
Usually if something goes wrong its in the first year so I guess its up to you. 12 months warranty is fine for me.
actually the matt display is impact to the contrast of the image too
True that
Is the 4K model from 2017 still a competent performer in 2020? Is $700 a good price for a 16GB i7 500GB?
It's beautiful as hell "I get it" but for that price tag I could have a fully decked out gaming rig with 10x the power & still have some money left over.
Yes but your desktop won't fit on your lap
Western Gents United who said anything about a DESKTOP?
I only game on Gaming Laptops 😃.
Showing a video of a 4k and 1080p laptop side to side will never be a good way of showing how things actually look. It's just not possible to see the actual differences as they look pretty much identical, but in real life there's a huge difference.
How about the 9570? Does Full HD screen has the same bezel as in 9560 or is at all under the glass as on the 4K version?
I don't know yet?
@@TallyHoTech Thank you for this comparison video. It's exactly what I was looking for except that I'm more interested in the 2018 version. Do you know yet whether the Full HD version of the 2018 XPS 15 has a lip/bezel around the display like what you described on the 2017 Full HD XPS 15? I like how the 4k version doesn't have this lip/bezel.
Already checked. It's the same situation. I've got the 9570 with 4K panel and it's great :)
The wider gamut 4K screens are better dues to res and gamut
hey mate, could you tell which speakers are best of these: xps 17, razer blade studio or Lenovo 7i???????????
Please !
