- This week with the Secret Starting Class series: Its no secret that Nepheli Loux is a powerful character in Elden Ring, but could she be an even better replacement for the Tarnished? Probably, but lets find out! Check out this build using the Hero starting armor set, the Stormhawk Axe, Stormhawk Deenh, and the Thunderstorm Skill to storm through the Lands Between taking out any and all challengers in our way... even Malenia.

the stormhawk axes really seem like they should’ve been a single paired weapon, like the ornamental straight swords or radahn’s swords.

It'd definitely give them a much more interesting niche! Absolutely agree. Hell, you could go full Ornamental and change their moveset post-Thunderstorm buff.
Honestly elden ring moving away from that for the most part kinda hurts a lot of potential for different movesets. It gets boring mashing l1 for every power stanced build
We needed more of this in Elden Ring tbh. Huffing on hopium for more weapons styled like this in the DLC 😂
Sure nepheli has one of the best quests in the game and has carried plenty of new people in the fight against Godfrey, but cans she carry her self over the swag jump to safely first try?

The Stormhawk Axes should have been a single weapon that you powerstance by two-handing, like the fist weapons or the twin swords.
Deenh is a very underrated Spirit Ash, I feel. An aggressive but evasive pet hawk that buffs your attack? Sign me up! Easily one of my top 5 favorite Spirit Ashes.

If you don´t want/need a big tanky meat shield, this is the way to go !
My first playthrough I loved that bird, fighting the invisible black knife was so hype with my birb knowing where the assassin was
Nepheli is one of the few characters in Souls history that can have a good ending.
That alone makes her one of the best characters in the franchise.

I'm not sure the axes are meant to be powerstanced. Without killing Nepheli, you can get one as early as the fortified Manor, but the other is as far as Castle Sol.
Yeah that’s what I do. You can wrong warp from the Divine Bridge like 10 mins into the game and then just sprint through Leyndell or do the drop down and you can get it 15 mins into a new run w/out killing Nepheli. I think it’s better just using one - Thunderstorm weapon skill & 2h charged heavies is all you need.

Ranni quest feels better on a melee spell build because Adula's moonblade is A BEAST of a reward up on the alter.
If you want a fun (themed) powerstance build that is good without being bleed: Judge Gabranth (FFXII) twin magic curved swords with wing of astel for the weapon art and blade beams in the main hand. heavy armor and BLENDER damage on the curved swords plus nebula for lingering hitbox. very fun highly recommend.
Call me crazy, but I don’t remember hearing the only proper song to use in a build with storm as the name of the AoW: Bury the Light

This has been a really good one so far, you considered doing a carian knight starting class?
That would be fun (and look pretty). Probably best incorporating all the Carian sword sorceries for some variety.

To get both buffed switch to two handing your offhand weapon and use the ash of war then go back to power stancing and use the ash of war again as you normally would. That will leave both buffed.
Ive been doing this as a run. Its so much fun.

Hey Tulok your probably not even gonna see this, but for AOW that buff weapons, you can always two hand your left weapon, do the buff, then powersance both to get the buff on the right weapon. I did a run with two helphen’s steeples and thats what i did. Not like this tip matters i dont think there are any other weapons you could power stance like this without being in ng++
I am actively trying to not play elden Ring until Shadow of the Erdtree comes out and every time you post a video I'm very tempted to start a new run.

I’d love to see your take on Ike from Fire Emblem 9/10 I feel like a big sword that shoots a blade beam would be fitting and I remember his Smash Bros. Description specifically mentioning he’s strong enough to wield 2 handed weapons with one hand so that may be a an interesting twist that makes the build more unique than some other big sword builds! Great content as always!

As someone who has done a ton of public speaking training l can confirm the meaning of those words related to “places to speak from.” Dias and podium are basically equivalent (raised area in a room where to speak from - like a stage). Lecturn is the name of the standing desk from which to speak. Pulpit is the same thing but in a church. HTH and congrats on using the word correctly!

Really nice making Npc's secret classes, in the same principle you could do a Dungeater Secret Starting Class (You might hate the few first hours off the run but not as much as the Cruscible Knight run)

I thought you might like Deenh. Both the Hawks offer a pretty nice Spirit Ash balance for a more aggressive melee player, doing just enough to feel like a nice help, especially with Deenh's buff. They're not gonna carry, but they do a nice job of providing a helpful lift.

Can't you do the seppuku trick to get the lightning on both axes? 2hand the left axe, use ash of war, then duel wield and ash of war again and have lightning on both... or does that not work anymore?

yes these axe is a hella strong especialy for how easy and early you can get it and how easily it scale, you can put it fast to +5 at least, take the jar shard early on to get a nice boost, the lightning talisman and flask for more and you already got a shitload of boost and pretty much your full build and can destroy stuff up to end game.
You just have to make it +10 or 9 at least along the road, those weapon are sick because they scale easily without necessary stats, another weapon that is crazy strong and part of my actual build is the zamor curved sword, it scale only from boost and weapon level, so its actualy cool because you can level up only the requirement stats to wield it and then build whatever you want.

as someone who've used the SHA i highly recomend it, and i was able to beat the game in 4h27min with using this weapon.
