This is more of a mechanic adventure if anything. Lets be real they had more fun than sitting at home, just a hot cup of tea in the morning in those mountains is worth the trip.
Reminds of that time the Hoffmans went of to South America or something and also thought diamonds were a great idea. They didn't find any gold or diamonds that season.
Yeah, you guys need to fully prime your pump. I used to use a special float valve that was welded into the head of the pump, I would attach a long hose from my Chevy trucks vacuum from its brek system. It would suck up ground water all the way to the head, then I would engage PTO and water would run instantly.
Legit question. I've only used older pumps etc that you HAD to prime them. Aren't new machines just push button start without prime needed? Wasnt sure. Thanks if you reply!
@@amylee3531 it's not really a question of age, it's more design & installation. If for example you are pumping out of a tank, ideally you want the pump located below the outlet of the tank so gravity will self prime & keep the pump fed with water. If you can't have gravity prime it, you need to calculate the suction required for the pump inlet to suck water up. There are pumps made for this, you gotta match the specs to the requirement.
where the pickup hose end is where the water enter's the hose you need a one way flapper valve and it needs to sit in a bucket where it cant suck up the river bed and always try to setp the pump as close to the river as possible . You guys need a accouple 3 inch high bankers would of worked great .
What they need is an engineer.. Connect the smaller site pump to the end of the hose and fill it full of water up to the pump start the pump and a presto everything works..
@@GaryLX870D The real issue is that those motors they have driving the pumps just won't cut it. I can scarcely believe they paid actual money for that junk. My guess is for the location they would get no joy from any engine with smaller than 1 litre displacement or ~30-40 Kw. These clowns are/were working with motors that could produce about 2 Kw max. But then, you already knew that. :)
Diamonds are one of the most common gems on the planet, They are only worth heaps at the retail end of the chain because the demand is larger then the supply and that is by design to keep the value of diamonds high. If the supply was raised by selling all the diamonds already mined the price would then be so low it would not be worth even mining for them.
Im laughing while watching this.. I own a 3" Keene dredge for gold and can move what they are moving with it and one man can carry it all😂 they also dont have a blaster hose to loosen the tough materials.

American TV show that wants to show how difficult and expensive diamond mining is.... they forget to mention that it is millions of South African rand not dollars or euro.
Can't b*tch and moan about being at a complete stand still if you don't bother trying to use something else to fix. So they wanted all that time because they stopped looking for Riv Gun. You can always tell city boys from country boys. In the very least, while buddy is driving 5 hours to get what he needs, country fix the machine with a washer and bolt. They aren't running boulders like gold mining. Too many guys trying to be the captain...as many of these mining crews. Too much testosterone 😆

Destroying nature? You mean the river cutting through the ground, the erosion from water? Or did you mean the volcano that covered everything with molten rock? Perhaps it's the plants leaching the nutrients out of the soil? We really never destroy nature, we rearrange things, piles here, piles there. But until we started shipping resources off from the planet we didn't truly destroy anything. The Sahara is said to have once been a forest. Most of the US was a shallow sea. Giant sloths existed in a shallow swampy place now called Michigan. What you really mean is that man transforms things, good or bad is really relative. I've watched lakes go from great fishing spots to bush covered marshes that you can't get a boat on. That's nature, things change constantly. Wealth is nothing but resources with labor added. Everything you have from the device that you wrote the message on to the house you live in, the clothes on your back and the food that you eat. They all come from the ground and all require labor to gather, modify, ship, sell etc. Your very existence is destroying nature by your standards. Truth is it all goes back including you unless of course we send it to space. Why do you think we spend so much on space exploration? It's to find new resources, new places we can inhabit and "destroy". Like a virus always looking to spread and grow. But really if you think it through, 4.5 billion years ago the earth was an infant, unfit for supporting life. One day it will no longer support life but in the short time we are here we will live. From petroleum that makes plastics, rare minerals that make circuits, batteries, etc, you sure seem worried about things that you are a cause of. Let me know when you are living self sufficiently without destroying nature. Don't be killing animals or cutting down plants. No clearing for farming or grazing. No mining for metals etc. It's really a perspective isn't it? Focus too closely on just one aspect and it's easy not to see the reality. Just some thoughts

Their the Todd Hoffmans of diamond mining.

underrated comment
No this team know value of 1 dimond so ....and dimond mining is depending on 99% of luck
They don't spend nearly enough time standing around looking baffled to compare to Todd 😁
@@apaijmans they found the diamonds but they were only worth $500 lol
parker schnabell would have had that pump running in 20 minutes with a paperclip and a piece of duct tape

'HE' didnt factor in the altitude problem the same way 'THEY' didnt factor in the altitude problem.
pump up the jam pump it up a little more get the party started hahaha cowboys
These guys get along way too good for a TV show, it’s good the machines aren’t working right otherwise there wouldn’t be enough drama!
I would be going after the pump salesman he messed up badly.

My dad, God bless him, taught me you have to prime a water pump WHEN I WAS 5 years old.
Love it, handful of successful business owners and a pump manufacturer and they still can’t figure out how to prime a line.
Clearly the problem is the air is to thin, so you need more air to water ratio
The moving of the top dirt. Saves time
The secret of learning to operate equipment... jump in it and go.

Can’t find it either

Apparently priming a pump is rocket science to these guys.
Or just get a check valve..

Cracking show guys
The whole pump issue could be solved with a y pipe and a high flow non gravel pump. Use the venturi effect to prime the main pump and hose.
Im laughing while watching this.. I own a 3" Keene dredge for gold and can move what they are moving with it and one man can carry it all😂 they also dont have a blaster hose to loosen the tough materials.
Using smaller pumps to full water tanks on higher ground, could this not create a gravity fed water supply to the hopper ?

Fill water from top to prime. A bad dive man. No dimond. If not on bed rock no dimond move the dirt first to the gravel on the bed rock
That moaner sitting on the rock. Sheesh
Use a submersible pump, then you won't have problems with suction pressure...
The subtitles though 🤣
Go home and practice boys and think before you startnext adventure.
