  • I started dancing when I was just 23 years old. And while I wish I had started sooner, now that I am 24 years into the game, I'm just glad that I started at all!
    Bellydance is one of those wonderful dance styles that can be done for life. I am absolutely inspired by the teachers I have studied with in the past who had decades more experience under their belt, and also by my amazing students and members who come to this dance with excitement and vigor in their 50s, 60s and beyond!
    My body has changed a lot in the last two decades, and so has my dancing. I remember a time in the early days when I practically scoffed at the idea of a warm up, and would dive right into my dance practices and performances without doing a thing to prepare my body.
    Those days are definitely over.
    I am now a huge fan of my warm up… And an even bigger fan of the stretching that I do every day to get my body prepared for the day and to cool down after dancing. And while I'm still pretty stingy with my time, and refuse to spend too many minutes on these ideas, I absolutely love the moment of focus and meditation it adds to my day.
    So in this video I am going to show you the exact warm up that I use for my practice and my students practice every day in the studio. This warmup is quick and effective and a fantastic way to prep your body for an amazing belly dance practice session, no matter your age, shape or belly dance experience level.

    This warmup is beautiful and energetic!! Still having a hard time to practice (even if I am not a belly dancer but as a dance student) but some slight more improvements were made recently 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you Sahira, happy new year 2024 and happy zilling and dancing 🔥
