or a man in his 30s.
zh84 I have this and I’m 13 but instead of spaghetti I have tomato ketchup
Or Findus crispy pancakes, chips and peas/beans 😋
90s kids too lol
Brendan Walker YEEES! !! curry or beef flavour😋😋
Basil's meowing is just him demanding for more screen time in this video.
We're all meowing for more Basil time. He's the one we really tune in for.
Plenty of tins of veg on the smartprice list from what I'm seeing.
35p for corn, 21p for peas (15p for mushy), 20p for carrots.
Get that greenery in you!
You could totally have some peas/sweetcorn/carrots etc with chicken nuggets... right?
Cosmo Kate that's what I'd have done
Anyone else slightly disappointed that this week is going so well?
I think this is so entertaining
Honestly, I'm not _overly_ surprised in this case. He said this was owned by Walmart, right? Walmart's store brand States side is pretty good, although not the best I've had (a couple purely grocery store store brands have outdone it). Mind you, Walmart's prices beat those, so there is that.
acting
@@LydiaTarine12 Also worth noting Asda Smart Price is a psychological thing. The reason everything is all white is because it looks cheap, which is perfectly intentional. It's to make people feel shame for buying such items and mark themselves up to a better brand, even if the food is pretty much the same (sometimes is exactly the same). Nobody wants to look cheap and if you can afford not to, most don't.
Asda does do Smart Price fresh fruit and veg! They just rebranded it as Farm Stores (which is what Smart Price was originally called back in the 90's), they also do some value fresh meat under the same label.
Yep,,,
Stephen Thompson he still won’t eat them
Stephen Thompson this is true on the home shop scanner some farm stores products still flag as smart price
Yeah stay away from meat from asda its horrible quality
Jade Teague Nope, is fine.
Week on poundland food.
j jarry not much point as it's just branded stuff but smaller for the £1 price point.
@@Matt19matt19 yh but it would be interesting to see if he can scrape together a full weeks of groceries from poundland.
And with it being smaller portions it might even come out more expensive...
ISureDoLikeCats
Ooh, that's an interesting take, a week on but with a hard, tight budget instead of bothering with the weigh-in and calories and such. If you don't mind me sounding a bit culturally tone-deaf, kind of a 'week on food stamps' kind of thing to show how hard it might really be.
He’d die
You do realise that almost every Poundland has closed down
"A British person on a diet" is my current favorite genre of video.
Jim Ballard they should all be on diets
@@elliottdodson50 you yanks should be on a diet not us brits
Mike your videos brighten up my day, I've been waiting for this!! I wonder if you'll ever do anything with Aldi or Lidl??
I just love these videos and I dont know why haha
I shouldn't p at Aldi and Lidl all the time because of the good value fresh fruit and veg and the high quality meats. There would be nothing interesting about watching someone eat normally fir a week.
Aldi is horrible
Do an Aldi week 😺😺
Basil, improving Mikes videos since forever :)
You need to do a week on April 1945 war time rationing. You can have as much fruit and veg as you like. But it has to be in season and locally grown. No imported produce that wouldn't have been available at the time. :D
He also has to do air raid drills in every video.
@@Adrastia And arrest a Luftwaffe pilot who bailed out into his yard.
Lmao !! Nourishment from a white bread roll butter and processed meat spread !! Week on fruit n veg Mike save yaself !! .. 💙
You could mix veg into the canned pasta. Bulks it up, and makes it a tad better for you. I recommend frozen spinach, if asda carries it. Spinach always goes well with pasta.
Nuggets and belly rubs. Today was a good day.
Honestly Mike being so positive is the best advertisement you could think of for one of these stores
How do you do it?
Fries without salt, pepper, or ketchup.
Nuggets without any kind of sauce.
I mean wat.
Your actually helping people out with these videos as your helping us save money.
Its so cute you call them nuggies and chippies
Do you ever buy more of the products you eat on a week on as a result of a week on?
Love your videos, you gotta try the £1 a day challenge
You can’t beat a kiddie tea! If you’re tired after work and can’t be bothered to cook, kiddie teas save the day! Also that afternoon tea looked delightful 🤣
“Potted meat” really made me laugh
Reminds me of school packed lunches as mum would give me the chicken spread with lettuce.
Can you do morrisons for a week
@B J B who are you ?
Morrison's is the cheapest and best supermarket in England!
@B J B um tf
@@stevenhawkins2099 I like shopping in morrisons
Steven Hawkins no aldi
A week on a bodybuilder diet. Do it. :)
CNVN Canavan
That would be amazing, especially if he did the bodybuilding he'd need to to justify it.
@@danielgehring7437 But that would hardly be a Mike Jeavons vid would it? He needs to find some way to balls it up. Bodybuilder diet with no exercise! Or a month of weight lifting with 0 attention to diet.
He wouldn't work out so he'd just gain 40lbs lol
S H
Wait, you think Mike plus Heavy Weight Equipment doesn't write itself like it's a dang Itchy and Scratchy cartoon!? ^-^
Love these videos! I'd love to see a week on Lidl/Aldi! Xx
how about sharing a menu plan in advance so people can join you in your week on.
But that ruins the surprise
Not if he linked it in the description. Click at your own risk.
Don't click on the link or it will spoil your dinner!
Good idea
"This has got tomato in it, veggies!"
*screams internally*
Just want to say that as a Scotish teen moving to England for uni, these series have been realy useful as a bit of a guide of cheep food
your wife is not ruining the video... she's the bomb!

What's wrong, Mike-kun? Could it be you're craving my Smart Price Nuggies
I don't know why I decided to reference that old meme.
I can’t believe Mike was in the Twilight universe at 0:33
I had chicken nuggets and spaghetti hoops today and I'm 14 😂
@ron donnis it's people like you that make the internet a shit place 😂 just stfu
I’m 35 and i think I’ll make it for dinner (which is lunch Oop North, where Mike’s originally from). Just need to make sure I have chicken nuggets, oven chips and spaghetti hoops in first, otherwise it’s a short hop to the supermarket for me!
When I used to be totally skint years ago I would buy the smart price pasta, bacon and cheese sauce. Cut the bacon into bits to fry then put them in the pasta mixed into the cheese sauce... yum !
Cooking bacon 57p
Cheese sauce mix 35p
Pasta shapes 32p.
Big filling meal for 2 people only £1.24 😀
I’ve been getting quite a few vibes there might be a little Jeavons on the way? 😜
*This is a nice meal*
You and my husband could be soulmates.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just ate those exact chicken nuggets, I bloody love them
What do you do around RUclips videos? You mentioned editing a book, are you an author?
why dont you add the strawberry jam to the corn flakes? (banana & raisins would also be good with it if you have it)
I'm from Norfolk. To me, dinner = the main meal of the day, whether it be at lunch time or tea time. The smaller meal is then just lunch or tea, depending on the time of day, of course.
Do they still sell the Smart Price breaded fish steaks? They used to be brill only 1.80 ish for pack 6 I think (circa 2008 was when I had them)
That last dinner looked actually nice? I am deffo going to get them products for my weekly shop!
Also let's all take a moment to thank Mike for the Sunday upload, especially on a holiday weekend (for those to which it applies). I deeply appreciate it, it's either watching this or news broadcasts that make me sad.
Hoops have tomatoes in them,,
CHIPS WHAT ARE CHIPS MADE OF POTATOES AND WHAT ARE POTATOES WELL THEY ARE VEG!!! 😂
13p for the spaghetti hoops is insanely cheap. In USD, that is just 16 cents. You can't find ANYTHING that cheap here in the states. That same tin in WalMart is 52p
You should have done the 6pm ASDA run for your veg, its when they reduce all the fresh fruit and veg close to sell by date to 5p/10p then at like half 6 they reduce the milk and meat products to stupidly cheap too
ASDA Smart Price fruit and veg is ASDA Farm Stores.
I would have been interested in the calorie intake for the day (just as a not for the next week on) it would be interesting to see if the cheaper ranges are more calorific than the branded items. Also would love a Waitrose essential - you could get quite a few wild things.
so are those prices for the whole Bag/Box/Can (whatever) or only for waht you ate?
Asda smartprice cornflakes are the worst. But their next price up are lovely.
You should check out Cooking on a Boot Strap for some ideas one how to use budget range food.
asda smart price mixed vegetables 1Kg 99p
is that real? that would be great :O

@@TheCooperman666 he's got some in his freezer.
I worked on wheatley hall road in donny for ages and live not far away. What made you leave?
Hello, I live in Northampton but your not missing anything. Loving the week on videos.
Potato are veg they come from the ground HAHAHAHAHA
i think you're saving my relationship with these videos. Are you really from northampton?! we live here now!
Rosalina Roberts I live here too!
I remember those little jars from nusery. They're still really nice I think.
Do the caveman's diet!!! :D (oh and I like these series, they de-diabolise the whole "first/smart prizes" foods. Like "hey, this is good despite the uninspiring packaging!")
You can have vegetables with nuggets and chips like peas carrots or even just a bit of lettuce your either fussy or just couldn't be bothered buying any and you can buy tinned vegetables
I doubt Basil would like the chicken paste. Cats aren't allowed onion. Plus it has high salt content. Cats also shouldn't have garlic/
You can buy frozen mixed veg asda smart price. You boil it for 3 to 5mins.
a week of cooking everything from scratch!
I'm from Doncaster whoop now live further north in Hull!
I live near Doncaster, but in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺😊 I enjoy your vlogs, even if I'm watching ones from last year 😂
My only neggie is that wallsocket... why brown tape?
Is the price displayed per portion or per pack?
Basil LOVES you if he is asking for belly rubs!
The last meal guy will be doing his nut you stole his spaghetti-o's.
A week on the scavenger diet, please! {Where the majority of your meals comes from what you can find simply growing for free in your locality.) I did my own week on a few months ago and was amazed at how easy it was, and it made me rethink the whole mentality of how we approach getting our meals. I am desperately curious if it'll be the same for you.
What part of Donny are you originally from mikeyboy?
That is a legitimately alarming cost for food for one day.
I"m from Doncaster and i would of never of guessed you were from here 🤣
I add veg to whatever i eat pretty much, even pizza and nuggets. Xx
This reminds me of the days when we had two kids to feed, and were on the bones of our arses. We spent less, and still had fruit and veg. You can get things like tinned tomatoes, chickpeas, carrots etc etc for the same or less than a bag of oven chips and nuggets. I'm enjoying watching this, but it is possible to eat cheap and healthy. It's a pain in the arse, and you have to plan carefully, but it is possible.
You should try and incorporate more fruit and veg into your diet :) they often do a cheap range of frozen veg or fruit in supermarkets
I’m from Doncaster too love your week on videos
Your Corn Flakes remind me of Special K cereal in Canada. The flakes are smaller, but are tasty.
5:53 "Dont mention no veg though...Its got tomatos in it...veg..." I hope you know that tomato is a fruit 😂😂😂😂
Potatoes are vegetables. It’s practically health food. 😝
Need to do Sainsbury's Basic range
That would taste awful.
Nice to see a RUclipsr from Donny! Loving the videos pal
How long could you keep this up without getting scurvy?
Nothing wrong with childrens meals! I sometimes have fish fingers, chips and beans ☺
No veg. Tomato in the spaghetti hoops isn't enough. More veg.
Hi there mike please do a week on food purchased from marks and spencer and Waitrose and other expensive places and see what thats like..!
You need to get the the parcel tape off that socket and get it fixed mate
Tomato is actually a fruit.
Law W
..and yet I've never seen people eat one with ice cream.
Daniel Gehring 😂
It has seeds, it's a fruit.
@@danielgehring7437 watch Binging with Babish make Tomate Saltambique. You could eat that with ice cream.
@@danielgehring7437 I don't think "can eat it with ice cream" is what qualifies something as a fruit
I look forward to seeing these videos everyday haha, keep it up x
Been watching you for a while and wouldn't have guessed you were from Donny, mate 😂 I'm from between Barnsley & Doncaster & ya don't even sound it. What's gone on haha
Classic child’s dinner after school in 1970s 👍
Where in Doncaster you from I am from there too?
Donny!!!!!!! What area are you from?
You should do the complete opposite and do a week on essential Waitrose or something in the more expensive range like that, then you could see if you think the price difference is worth it
Aren't chips technically made from a vegetable?
A week on liquids - protein shakes, smoothies, soup
Do a week on morrisons and sainsburys basic range for a week as well
Wonder do they do smart price frozen veg
I also watch Slope's Game Room, I love him and Larry Bundy Jr
13p...that is like 30 cents CAD at most. That is like finding knock off Alpghaghetty for 30 cents. The dollar store sells it fkr 1 25. The store brand is 99cents. Why do we suck?
You can have peas and sweetcorn with chicken nuggets and chips
