A week on budget vs. premium. For example have one day on Sainsbury's Basics, then repeat the day on Sainsbury's Taste the Difference.
Would be interesting to see the difference in spend and if the premium is worth it.
Really like this idea. Please try this Mike it would be great to see if there's much difference between the two besides packaging and price.
Good idea💡
agreed, that would be really interesting.
Agreed
It happened with Tesco Finest you predicted the future
I regularly buy the smart price "cheese" and tomato pizza. I buy them and eat it as tomato bread because the tomato sauce on it is actually quite nice. If you want cheese on it you have to pay extra for the DLC.
Downloadable cheese?
DLC 😂
What is DLC?
But he already has Smart Price grated cheese (see Day 2), he could have used that.
Edit: Oh, wait. He did. Should really watch these in full before commenting 😂
Correct Anthony. Mike purchased the DLC add-on for the pizza.
Suggestions...
01. A week on KFC
02. A week on Burger King
03. A week on Greggs
04. A week on Subway
05. A week on Dominoes
06. A week on Pizza Hut
07. A week on Kebab Shops
08. A week on Fish and Chip Shops
09. A week on Chinese Take-away
10. A week on Mexican
11. A week on Curry House / Take-away
12. A week in the Hospital (x 6) at the end of that lot...!
He’s already done a week on Dominos.
Richard
just reading "a week on greggs" made me want to die 😂
A week on any of them would lead to disastrous diarrhoea.
12. A week on Hospital Food
You've literaly just added 'a week on' Infront of chain restaurants/food
Oh no, what a disASDA
👐👏
👐👏
👐👏
You the real MVP!
🙌 praise you for that 😂😂😂😂
👏🏿
You win.
👏
How about a series of "week ons" titled mike goes back in time and try a week on 1920s food and a week on 1930s food, 1940s, 1950, 1960s food and so on up to the present day?
Interesting Idea :-)
Fabulous idea! This would be soo cool
I don't think Asda do ready meals from the 1920s....
Badum-Tish!!
I will quietly walk away now...
There was a BBC series where a whole family "traveled back in time" and ate like people in previous decades which was so popular Australia and Canada made their own version of this type of series
Let's hope mike sees this and gives it a go!
I was unemployed years ago and ate a lot of Asda smart price, and the sausage and mash and cheese pizza were probably 2 of the lousiest products. Enjoying the week on and memories.
i still eat the pizza's i just put extra cheese and some pepperoni
A week on M&s fooood
Eddy Alderton He’d have to remortgage his house for that!!
Would lead to bankrupcy
A week on the Waitrose Essential range (imagine how he will suffer, having to get by on just cheap-skate meals of pheasant and caviar!)
the most wonderful tasty food. you get what you pay for
not being funny but i do my main shopping at M&S and Waitrose!
The little meows of Basil 💕💞💕
Love these videos. Possible idea for a future series: In the 1950s there was a book titled "the Can-Opener Cookbook" recipes from that would be epic - though they may take a bit more preparation.
Next time you should do a week on cocaine.
Jordan Caws 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That would be interesting and I'm sure very entertaining.
At least he'd lose weight, if that was his goal.
You mean Sainsburys taste the difference Cocaine..
That could even be healthier than today xD
You should do a week on your normal diet. It would be interesting to know how it differs from your week on series
Starting uni next month so these videos are very useful. Keep up the good work
ive started this week and i already have no money ahah
Black cats tend to be sweethearts. Basil seems to be no exception.
A week on Harrods Food Hall food next please Mike
8:12, closed my eyes and it's Ashens.
Uncanny
Do do, do do, do do ... HELLO
Lmao
Imagine a week on Ashens Poundland Specials??
A week on food regurgitated from the mouths of mother birds.
You took this down a very dark alley, but yes, kill them by biting off their heads and eat them like a Froob yoghurt.
Or dismantle their face before biting off their heads by eating their eyes, then their nose, then their beak, then their ears (do birds have ears) and then put them out of their misery.
Sorry, now I am the one who took it down a dark alley.
Well, people eat live seafood, so eating live birds cant be all that bad - I bet Basil the cat eats live birds 24/7 and nobody criticizes him for it - and when I told that to policeman, he walked off back to the station.
And I went with him.
I did a week on shoplifting last week, ate like a king, did not cost me a penny.
They use glue/paste instead of milk for packaging and TV adverts, brown & black shoe polish for juicy grill marked burgers and hairspray to make fruit shiny and fresh looking...good old edible lies.
Yh as the Cereal or "Bisk" will absorb the milk and get soaked. Thats why the Bisk is still crispy.
Maybe in some nations.
Here, they have to use exactly what's in the box, though they can put as much effort into the presentation as they wish.
You should do a week on Aldi Everyday Essentials
Yes!
They don`t seem to have a lot in that range where i shop every week. They do have the fresh meat and some cheap cheese pizzas and bacon, but i can`t think of much else.
Even on the website only 5 products come up. Would be interesting to see what i can find next time i`m there in the week.
MonkeyHunch1 Aldi’s website is useless, only a fraction of their products actually show up on there. Don’t take it as a representation of what they have, shop there in person and you’ll be able to find much more than five items (albeit not as much as Tesco value or ASDA Smart Price).
+Charles Teague Oh i`m in Aldi weekly and last night i bought some of the essentials baked beans for a change and they where actually pretty good for 23p a can and i`m a big Heinz beans fan.
Week on cat food please Mike
You could've plated up the sausage, mash and veg. And put asda butter in the mash...
Pour salt on the eggs to stop them spreading out whilst cleaning them up 👍
A week on reduced price food.
A week on all of the things you hated from all the previous week on episodes.
This.
I've bought cheap pizzas and just sprinkled extra cheese and put a bit of sandwich ham on. Works surprisingly well.
A week on food you find in bins next please.
Cocogomez yes! Freeganism
He's doing that already
@@ted712 😂😂
Is it weird that , those gelatin mostly salt sausages , are something i absolutely love.
Those cheese and tomatoes pizza's , drop a right few jalapenos and do it crispy in the oven and it's actually amazing. Not to mention super low in calories considering the amount. No extra cheese even needed.
When he brought out the mash and gravy I thought it still hadn't been cooked 😂
Love your videos Mike keep them going weekly !! Something to look forward to before bed.
Do a week on simply m&s which is their cheapest range although you’ll still probably have declare bankruptcy by the end of the week
Just an idea if I hav any asda sugar add it to corn flakes or wheat bisks
New sub good vid showing the different basics food range. Like the way you are having ago at each company lol
That lunch clearly wasn't heated up properly.
I wonder if he was supposed to cook the food with the liner on (punctured) so it can cook with its own moisture.
SELFISH ENIGMA There wasn't the slightest hint of steam coming of any of it. So no, it's not supposed to look like that because it wasn't heated up properly.
Oh my God. Gravy is mostly water. Water steams. It's basic science and common sense.
No, that's light and dirt on the lens. You can tell, because when the camera moves down, so does the "steam".
The fact is it's not hot enough, and if you think that's that's the way it should be then fine, you go ahead and eat half reheated food. But the fact is plenty more people have agreed with me than with you, and you've resorted to insults which shows you really don't have an argument.
Going to mute this post now because you're wasting my time, and to be honest, you're not worth my time.
Really? So not only are you going to insult me because you've run out of logical arguments, but now you're going to troll my channel? Pathetic. Grow up.
Week on Greggs 👌🏼 (you can get Greggs from Iceland so you don’t need to go to a Greggs three times a day)
you never done a week on KFC i'd like to see that
Even for the more expensive oven pizzas I buy extra cheese. There's NEVER enough of it.
For less than a pound you can get a bowl of boiled pasta, fry some garlic, dollop of olive oil and good squeeze of tomato puree, a little balsamic vinegar if you have it, and seasoning...Mix it all in together...voila. Much better for you.
Indeed, but it would need to be a separate video as those things probably aren't in the ASDA smart price range. I mean when he does a week on 'cheap food without a range but still nice week', I'm sure he'll fit it in somewhere.
We 💙 you even more now Grace let him clean his own mess up !! .....
Love that I sit thru a everquest mmo ad. Advertising that might have been effective in 1998 lol
I was told by a pizzeria employee that the cheese is usually the most expensive element of a given pizza (unless you're putting caviar or black truffles on it or something), so for 60p you aren't going to get much; Even the "premium" frozen pizzas here in the US, like DiGiorno ($6 or so), aren't that generous with the ol' fromage.
Cheers for the link dude, no wonder why I’ve had loads of new subscribers today 👍🏻👍🏻, mmmmmm cheap sausage and mash
Ive gone and watched every one of the week ons just because its fun to see what you eat. Dont stop now, dont die, and dont be in misery forever Mike!
When I was growing up both my dad and step mum worked all day, so we would usually have oven pizza for tea.
For a long time, the smell of oven pizza made me feel physically sick when I was a teenager because of that. I don't think I could stomach the cheapest of the cheap oven pizzas
fun fact..the bisks look like they hover above the milk because they use PVC glue instead of milk when photographing cereal. same thing in cereal adverts.
I love your channel, really helpful tips on cheap food 🤓
Asda... sounds like an organisation against processed foods lol.
Ẅow the picture on the pizzabox, I nearly thought the cuttingboard was a crust serving suggestion.
week on food you can get for free only! could be using olio, foraging, free samples, allotments of friends/family, supermarket bins.
You do realise you’re supposed to mix the mash
Ya know !! On plate extra butter salt n pepper !! Sure it wld ov tasted much better !!
Mike doing something wrong in a video? Nothing new there.
KamatsuKyoto People bitching and complaining on Mikes videos? Nothing new there.
Nice profile pic bring me the horizon:)
Savannah Simpson KamatsuKyoto I’ve been watching him for years and I’ve never criticised anything. But it’s just letting him know incase he didn’t know. Nowadays I guess explaining the correct way to do something means bitching 🤷🏻♀️
i really do love these series'
I added this because you made me laugh as you sound like Peep show's Mark Corrigan. BTW, I am ASDA's night staff.
the coster crazy wooky hole video made me chuckle love them guys
Do a week on Sainsbury's like if you agree so he can see!!!
Good idea
The 60p asda pizzas are nice I usally add ham, pepperoni & cheese to them & twins love them to
Coincidence i sat down with my pizza & chips for dinner and this came up on my feed 😂
I suggest a week on seafood...if it can be found in the ocean, it can be eaten: basically fish, molluscs, kelp, caviars (meaning generically fish eggs in this context, so tobiko would be fine too), etc. But...no spices, or oils that aren''t from the sea. The only seasoning from terrestrial sources you can use is salt...because theres tons of it in the ocean anyway...and boiling seawater would net the same result. Also, no smoked seafood for obvious reasons. I have personally done this once just for fun after finding out a local shop had a bunch of dried kelp on clearance.
That pizza after you added the extra cheese looked delicious!😍
That second pizza box 😂😂😂
Tomorrow you could make an omelette with ham???!
No eggs
i love these seriess next time please do a week on morrisons own food and compare all the grocery stores xx
A week on the packaging found on food without eating the food within.
mike, how come you dont do the salt/fat content in these videos like you did with the Iceland ones?
Love your videos so much you are just genuine
Said this is the Day 1 Vid, but in Australia we have Weet-Bix, they look identical to those and name is def a play on the name, looks like ASDA went to Australia (or NZ or South Africa) and saw/tried them and decided to rip the orf and changed he name.
Edit: Okay I looked up Weetabix and they are the UK equivalent of Weet-Bix and so ASDA has ripped orf the Weet-Bix, which are Rectangular (literally same as what you had in vid) where as the Weetabix are ovular, so the rip-orf is closer in resemblance to original than the UK Variant of the official product.
I buy my daughter the smart price pizzas as she doesn't like much cheese on pizza. For 60p I doubt anyone expects too much.
Think they float because they use pva glue instead of milk for the photo?
Asda do basic tomato sauce and brown sauce if you look in the right place as I live on there range
UK eggs don't need to be kept in the fridge. The way they're treated for salmonella here doesn't require refrigeration. If you do keep them in the fridge, you should keep them at the back or they'll go off quicker.
I don’t think I could eat eggs left out . Uk An japan most have good eggs I know japan has a dish u dip meat in raw eggs. Ick no thank u
A week on meal deals
Mix butter in with the mash??
There's absolutely no steam coming off your sausage and mash. Is it cooked?
The wheat brisk look like that on the box as the don't use milk but glue it's one of the tricks they use to make food better then it is also why why didn't they call the meal bangers and mash is it the wrong sausage or them not having flair
COASTER CRAZY ON RUclips!
“YER ON THE TELLY NOW!”
Theme Park Mania I was on the PC now 👍🏻👍🏻
Coaster Crazy - Yaaas!
Love ya videos I subbed
I used to do the same thing with the shitty no frills pizzas from kwik save as a kid.
mike do you ever leave the house
Cereal doesn’t float on milk like in the photos because on photos they use pva glue not milk
0:52 Apparently photographers use PVA glue in a bowl so they can stand the products in it, while the glue "looks" like milk.
I think it's supposed to be a wheat biscuit, sort of like shredded wheat
Yay - Great series Mike! Whats your fave product so far?
He will never answer you
Pizzaaaaaa!
@@MikeJeavons Right answer!
Used to think you could never go wrong with a frozen pizza. Really questioning that belief after seeing those sorry pizzas
You should have had the pizza without adding the extra cheese first...
A whole pizza...with chips!
There was no steam coming out of that mash and sausage meal.
What do you work as
Not too sure what a bisk in particular is but it reminds me of granola bars and milk.
mike i'm not one to leave abusive comments on te internet but wt* are you doing eating weat bisks cold wit no sugar
Warm Weetabix? Never had it but sounds proper grim mate
@@connormaughan7166 warm is better
At least he isn't having them without milk. I had 2 with no milk for a challenge and my mouth felt like a desert by the end.
Weetabix mixed with hot water and sugar tastes nice.
My mother used to put hot milk on my Weetabix in the winter - tasted horrible. Not everyone likes sugar on their cereal; Weetabix is quite nice with banana slices.
I personally love the Asda sausage and mash but it needs a plate mixed with salt and butter
I agree and also the tesco value one. In my last year of uni my student finance was 2 months late, literally had nothing in the bank, so lived on value stuff! adding salt, pepper, butter and even chives makes this cheap meal taste much better.
N7Biotic honestly it might not be the best for you but the Asda ready meals are on point like the pasta
@@Luke0151 I said I had to live on cheaps meals because I had no money .. Not a usual thing I would do .... But if you do add seasoning at least it makes you forget how bad it is for you lol
Good boy. Get that veg in you.
Mostly carrot because carrots are dirt cheap XD
(Frozen veg is better than you might think, you lose some goodness in the freezing process, but not as much as you might think, and it doesn't lose much goodness over time like un-frozen veg)
They dont hove in the milk, because the picture they use white glue instead.
A week on pound land food
Those cheese & tomato pizza's are nice, used to have them.
You should write the prices of the food items on the packaging, just to make it easier
Seeing Mike struggle with the packaging on the sausage and Mash is indeed an analogy for life itself u see the food in the pack and it looks good! this could be life in this country after brexit maybe? but we try and try to get to the food as it looks so good...and we struggle with the packaging this could be the red tape and beurocracy maybe??!! And we eventually get to the sausage and mash ,,,and it turns out it is bland and powdery and the sausage is a bit spongy...!!! so there u go be careful what u wish for ...i might have gone to far with this comment but hey thats the way i roll
I really do like the Week On series.
I home cooked for my two dogs (they eat meat) and being a vegan myself I go through two of they frozen veg bags a month lol XX dogs love them lol
We finally know the identity of HowToBasic
8:01 This is why you don't pile up storage.
i appreciate you putting your body through this in the name of entertainment. /salute.
Cheap pizzas are always so lacklustre on toppings, plus badly spread out. You always need to bulk up the meat and cheese on them :(
If you put extra cheese on those pizzas they are amazing.
