You mentioned that when your Wizard is eliminated the game is over. This is no longer the case. They changed this ruling as it was too harsh. (I actually organized a tournament once in which during the finals the obvious better player was eliminated the very first turn because his wizard rolled snake eyes on a Marvel's Told corruption check. Bummer.) Now the ruling is you get -5 marshalling points. Which essentially is game over, but you still get to try at least. Nice map, wish I had one of those. Cheers!

Thanks for the clarification. I looked it up just now in the URD, and it looks like while that is the tournament ruling, in casual play avatar elimination is still considered a victory condition.
I actually use the -5 MP rule when I play Arda, for the exact same reason - it's really rough if you lose right out of the gate because of bad luck. That happened to a new player we were trying to introduce to the game (Free-holds aren't so free when there's an Assassin lurking), and since then, we play with the tournament standard instead.

Thanks for all these. It's been 20 years since I played. Any chance anyone in here lives in Portland Oregon? I'd really like to play this again

Dear CCG Collector, where could I get a similar Map i.e. with Green border lines instead of the common Red ones? Thank you!

Anyone else screaming at the screen when he fumbled with the marker on Aragorn, and put it on the map, instead of moving the one on the map from Lorien to Isengard? ([*they’re taking the Hobbits to Isengard*])
Btw; I believe the mind of an ally would come into play if fx your opponent tried to influence it away. And there are one creature I know that you have to use mind rather than prowess to face a strike (Neeker Breekers).

Yeah, that wasn't my finest hour. Doing these videos in one take, I miss quite a bit, and that was something I didn't catch until I was reviewing the recorded video. And with this one, I had already lost a previous attempt about 20 minutes in when I rolled the dice off the table and couldn't retrieve them except by crawling underneath, so I was just charging full speed ahead to get it done this time.

The character recruiting the ally has to have enough influence to cover the ally's mind points, and those direct influence points are considered used. Then the ally stays with the company like a playable character.
