How could I forget the most important part of the end of the game? When the Free Council is called, every character must pass a corruption check; if they fail, you miss out on all the MP they and their resources would have provided. Game are regularly won and lost with these corruption checks, so DON'T FORGET THEM like I did!
Additional points I either got wrong or failed to mention:
14:24 You draw cards based on the destination site only if moving to a non-haven. If moving to a haven, you draw cards based on the origin site (even if that origin site is also a haven). (thanks CDavis7M)
19:29 When rolling Annalena's body check, I mistakenly eliminated her because I rolled less than her body score. In fact, a character is eliminated only if the roll is HIGHER than their body score. (thanks @Max Ionov)
19:42 When a character dies (eliminated as a result of failing a body check), they are allowed to transfer one item to each unwounded character in the company; obviously, no corruption check is required in this case.

At time 19:44 Annalena passed her body check by rolling 4 (body check low rolls are good) and did not die!

Thx for making these videos! A great contribution for introducing the game to new (and old confused) players :) Just thought to mention that at 2:55 you also have the option of placing Aragorn under Gandalf, using his direct influence of 10. Also, if I’m not mistaken, once the wizard is on table, you must play a new character at the same site as the wizard if you are using general influence.

Ah, commenting while watching... You cover these things later in the video ;)

The CCG Collector, thank you for making these videos, they are a very good introduction to this amazing game.
I believe there is an inconsistency in the video regarding body checks. At 19:02 you say that you need a roll of 7 or lower to succeed a body check, but then, when the roll is 4 you eliminate her. The rules state that the *attacker* rolls 2D6 and the check fails if the roll is *greater* than the character's body. So with the roll of 4 Annalena should have stayed in play, as far as I understand. Or did I miss something?

Hey, glad you liked the video, and you're absolutely right that I showed that off incorrectly. In short, if the roll is higher than the character's body (or creature's if you're fighting a creature with a body attribute, something I didn't cover in this video), that character is eliminated. The reason the rules probably say it "fails" is because when the attacker is rolling, they're trying to kill the character. If the roll is high, they fail to do that. In other words, my explanation in the video was correct, but my action was incorrect, and Annalena should have survived with that roll.

Thanks for reviewing one of the two ccgs I love. The same two you do..... I am trying to heavily modify it into some distorted version using the table top board simulator. They have every card!

Such a well designed ccg, i like it a lot. The only thing im missing is the direct chalange against other players such as in the star wars ccg. They tried to get rit of its weakness in later sets.

Hi, I am totally new to this game expecting by mail Challenge Decks B & E, I have watched your remarkably tutorial videos several times and I feel already ready to start playing, Thanks a lot!! My only question to be if by playing solo it's more practical to use Hazards from one Deck against the other or just use the same Deck's Hazards against its Characters

Definitely experiment with different hazard decks against your heroes! The game is very flexible with solo rules. For instance select or make a special hazard deck of dragons that you only draw from when you are in dragon country, another hazard deck of nazgul and undead for when you are in morder, etc. I played this game for many years and came to the conclusion that it's the most fun when you make your own house rules with lots of story flavour.

This is great, thank you. Just to confirm, you do not need a map, correct? You can play with just the cards in your deck?

Fantastic video! One thing I don't get is why you keep black cards in your hand when playing solo. What is their use?

    • @TheCCGCollector

This is meant to simulate a two-player game as best as I can while only being one person. I'm trying to show what the experience might be like if you actually had an opponent, so I'm using a deck containing a mix of resources and hazards like you'd have in a real game.
If you're playing truly solo, then yes, you'd separate out the resource cards and hazard cards, and only draw and play resource cards. The hazards you'd face would come from another deck that's nothing but hazards. (You can see this setup in my Burglar Needs a Good Job video.)

I don't know the exact time you're referring to, but I suspect I'm using an item or ability to do that. It's not something you can do by default.

Yep, still around. I just have two young kids these days (one a year old, one two and a half), so things have been too busy for me to focus on the channel lately.
