Just a note, I mentioned that Group 1 Perun was the highest base probability. That's not exactly true. T-elos has a base probability of 5, but I didn't include her in that statement mostly because of the fact you need to get to the end of the game to be able to awaken her.
I also like the Blade-System (Gacha), however I think its a "good for one game" Idea. I have the same opinion on "Visions" from Xb1, a nice mechanic for one game but would over stay its welcome if implemented in more than one game.
Yeah it's basically a gimmick. Gimmicks aren't always bad, I think they can be a lot of fun, but usually they're better off staying as gimmicks rather than becoming series mainstays/mechanics. Plus, like visions, this gimmick is deeply tied to the story and themes of XC2 and probably wouldn't make sense in another entry.
What saves the xenoblade 2 gatcha from being really bad is that it is free and repeatable. if it cost actual money or they prevent you from grinding core crystals, then that would make this awful.
Kosmos is the only real problem with gacha system imo. I would have made it so her rate went up after pulling everyone else. A completion reward if you will.
Funny that Zeke’s highest distribution in idea points is in compassion, because in my playthrough he had a massive lean towards justice (which definitely also makes sense). Although, I don’t remember if he just starts off with a lot of justice to begin with, so that might have something to do with it.
i played xc2 again before 3 came out and my first core crystal on zeke pulled Kos-mos and that was one of the happiest moments of my life frankly i don’t even have her on my first save
Another tip for improving your odds is to equip certain Common Blades before Awakening . Some Common Blades have Luck as their Stat Modifier, and some Core Chips give Luck boosts on certain weapons. Since you’re going to be Awakening a lot of Common Blades, you’re bound to have at least a couple Luck Mods in there. And since Stat Mods are percent based, that’s a massive Luck Boost.
So….. if using a stat boost temporarily makes that stat the “best” what is the point of using multiple to boost it to 15? If this gets explained further in I take it back
Wow Kos-mos's drop rate is .1% I'm not going to lie that made me laugh because if you check the chart that drop rate is applied to all 4 groups so no matter what you do she will always be at .1%.
I can't believe it. After watching this and getting frustrated, there was no great solution. I decided just to burn through all my cores, I got t-elos and 2 cores later I got Kos-mos I couldn't believe it. I still have tons of rare blades to unlock, but those were the ones I was most hoping for.
Fun fact I somehow pulled KOS-MOS about half way through the game from a rare core crystal. The one time I will ever be lucky with blade gacha. Sorry if that was mean.
I believe the system is excellent in a vacuum because it safeguards the game from being metagame, if only overdrives did not exist, and I was allowed to work freely with my blades.
I got her there as well on my current playthrough. Was debating restarting so I could get another chance at a Wind-element Rare Blade with that initial set of Core Crystals, but ended up deciding to open some and see what I got. KOS-MOS changed my mind, and I also got Adenine soon after. And according to a friend of mine, he got KOS-MOS on his third Core Crystal in one playthrough.
I got her as my 2nd last on my main file. On my non new game plus bringer of chaos file (that I gave up on) she was my first real blade pull after the story common.
Has anyone pulled a common Blade with Orb Master and Ultimate Combo? It is always just one or the other for me. And it is hard to get one with either skill at level 5.
I'm honestly in the crowd that does not like the system very much. It would make a lot more sense if the commons you got were permanent with no way to remove them(besides just restarting from 0) and if the rares were garanteed but with the * that the order you get them in is random. It would keep all the essencials and good parts of the system without trolling the player and would actually be *more* lorefriendly because yeeting suboptimal commons away like nothing would actually be grounds for you to be a villain, not a hero, the way the narrative treats the conflicts of blade resonance and their flawed immortality. The weird thing being that this point about common blades is actually already half-implemented in that the only one Rex canonically has cannot be gotten rid of and will always reawaken in NG+, meaning it is infact permanent. The only catch being that it is not really random to begin with because it gets awakened from one of a series of debug-cores(Yes, there are more of these in the gamefiles) that forces a certain type of blade.
Could you upload your savefile to the cloud right before you get a pity blade, then keep downloading it to try and roll a different blade? Just curious 🧐
@@azurekite3870 shortly after this video I tried it and you can use the cloud to do this You upload your save file (turn off auto upload) pull all of your core crystals, then if you don’t get anything good just import your old save from the cloud, worked perfect for me to pull all the rare blades without grinding
If you're making a tutorial video, wouldn't it be better if you don't put any spoilers in it? There's spoilers for the party members, Rex's outfit, and a scene in Chapter 7, none of which were really needed to be shown.
Well, in a way she is. There’s more factors than just the chance that she will appear vs the chance that a Shiny will appear. Most important, I think, is the time-per-roll. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, for example, you can easily roll 100 Pokémon to see if they’re shiny in just a few minutes. It takes far longer than that just to OPEN core crystals you’ve already obtained. I think at least 5 seconds per core? It’s been a long time, so it’s hard to remember exactly. But anyway, that’s not even counting the time it takes to collect them, too, which is also harder to gauge. Plus Shiny Pokémon are just really common in Pokémon Go, and there are other methods to make them easier to find in recent games.
To be honest, I will not play xc 3 because the lack of the gotocha system and amine are disappointing. I am sacred that the xenoblade community has conditioned Monoliftsoft to not be ambishish. I love both the characters and the system so much I can't bear to see them go. Plz do not hate me, respect my opinion.
There's many reasons why Xenoblade 2 fell short of the original, poor pacing with intro to the combat, the main character and his VA, rushed design for the first 10 hours of the game and don't get me started on the whole tutorial BS. However one of its shining qualities is the blade system as it gives every player their own unique run through the game. Xenoblade 2 has more negative quirks then positive but this one isn't part of the former.

Actually the only reason why I like the gacha in xenoblade 2
...so you're telling me that when I accidentally pulled KOS-MOS in chapter 5 of my first playthrough I was maybe just a little bit lucky?
Thanks for the info. I am currently playing XC2 as my first Xenoblade game so I am trying to learn as much as I can about it

Same. Reason why I got Perceval and Azami with him.

I’ve been playing this game for years and I only now learned that enemies give “idea level experience” why does this game not explain anything 😭
because it's really bad at explain stuff inthe first place lol

hilarious how they never fixed that goup error thing with a patch
They never fixed several issues across multiple games.
0.13 percent for Agate? 0.25 for Ursula and Vale? Oh my fucking goooood...

Relentless arduran:
*Chuckles.
I'm in danger.
Math in a XenoBits video, that’s scary. Math scares me on principle.
I wish the odds for unlocking KOS-MOS wasn't so low. Shes literally the only blade i actively want. lol
....Save scummed and got KOS MOS in chapter 2.....so yeah fuck this system is JUST LUCK!! IS JUST RNG!!
Fun fact I somehow pulled KOS-MOS about half way through the game from a rare core crystal. The one time I will ever be lucky with blade gacha. Sorry if that was mean.
And here I am, many years later, still unable to get Patroka....

I don't know how the frick I got KOS-MOS in Gormott on my first playthrough😮!
You're making every Xenoblade 2 player jealous. Along with me.

Hmm that's probably why I haven't gotten vale yet, she zenobia, and Korra are among the last on my list before NG+
All these problems to get the Rarest Blades; when the best blade in the game is a maid built by a Nopon in his home, lmao.
Very informative video!
I speant over 100 core crystals trying to get a new rare blade specifically a fire one bit did not
Xenoblade Chronicles is the one franchise I have not spend enough money on
This is the kinda gacha i like.

Not using common blades is a common mistake.
i get kos-mos very early and now i am and new game plus and CANT get my favorite torna blade obrona i am mising her an othe one
ADENINE GANG LET'S GOOO
All I want is Adenine. I’m in new game plus and I still don’t have her.
I don’t care for KOS MOS and the others, just give me Adenine 😢
It's harder than my math test. But I got 16/20 (A rank). So...
