I've kept geese and love them. They are grazers but not on tough weeds - they graze on softer grasses and weeds. I found them to be very trainable and would come in to call in the evening. Also, unlike ducks, they are easy to herd to where you want them to be. Once you understand their body language and behaviour, the aggression isn't much of an problem - the males are very protective of their mates and their offspring and will give you plenty of warning to stay away with the low stretched neck and hiss.
I used to have a Chinesse and it's true they "defend" you. When my wife was hanging clothes to dry he was fine with her in the patio until I came down. Then he "attacked" her by biting her in the butt, lol. He also answered and came when I called him by his name. Then we played "boxing" until he would get exited and started biting hard and twisting his head, that was when I called it quits and declare him winner of the "fight".
I've kept geese for 5 years and I'm here to tell you. Geese primarily eat grass. Not bugs. They WILL eat everything in your garden if they are not supervised. They ARE more temperamental and aggressive than dusks. You have to work hard to build a realationship with them. They are also tge most intelligent and curious of all the domestic fowl you can keep. Tgey can survive primarily on their own. Geese are wonderful and I highly recommend them, but find your information somewhere else. The info in this video is wrong. I recommend reading "keeping geese care and management" by chris ashton.
If I could I purchase a farm for my mother she would love to keep as many animals as she can!!! Would be a nice farm for grandkids this I'll be part of a private lake for security for sure. 😅😅😅
Totaly not true about their diet... geese main diet is green grass, and grain, ducks are the ones that eat small animals, slugs, snails, bugs and crustecians
I’ve had my flock of geese for r years now, I’ve never seen them eat even a bug… they like growing grass the best, followed by grain, followed by good hay/alfalfa
I go to the bait shop and get shad or minos for my geese they love fishing in thier pool.

Interesting. I'm just curious on what they taste like vs ducks.
Similar but supposedly more gamey but less fat. Depends on the breed too of course
They are superior tasting to ducks - due to their vegetarian diet. Ducks eat mostly bugs and slugs. Geese mostly grass.
I think this computer is confusing geese and ducks, and knows very litttle about either…

Cotton Patch geese are the best. ❤

Are they better at pest control than ducks?
They are herbivores, their main diet is grain food and grass
Geese are vegetarian. Ducks mostly eat bugs and slugs
Chinese knob heads are best guard dog. Never noticed them eating bugs.
Don't geese mate for life? What emotional damage is caused by culling just one half of a pair?
Geese and ducks are fowl not poultry
