Ya'll knuckleheads are killin me lol. That was too funny to watch. If u tilt the bucket all the way forward till the blades touch then lift another 10-12 inches, it woulda been way easier. I use 6x6's under the rear so it wont budge. Makes for a stable and safe position to change em. Thanks for the laughs lol. happy new year
Like chrisd2658 said, stack blocks on both sides of the back, right up to the skid, then when you tip your bucket up it will pick the entire track off the ground, then block the front. Make sure to put your boards laying front to back. Made me nervous watching you all work on that thing with a jack stand that was tipped.

Always love seeing a new video from you guys. Get you a good pile of 4x4's, 6x6's and some scrap 2x10 blocks all about 16 inches in length for blocking up equipment. I never put any trust in a jack or jack stand. See one explode once from weight and that was enough for me. Need all your fingers to grip a crescent wrench good!

You just sit the rollers on the track and slowly add tension so track does the heavy lifting. Then fasten them up and finally tension the track k to spec.

Tools: great to have but hard to have what you need where you are needing them. House with the Harleys,farm shop buildings (2),and now my little building being set up as a weld/fab shop and machine shop. I've got more tools than carter has pills and I never seem to have what I need where I am working.

I had the experience of changing Rollers on a trac steer and I have to say I was alot younger than I am now didn't have all the luxuries of the right tools for the job !!!! If you take turn the bucket down and pick up the tracks put blocks on the frame and pick it up off the ground it's easier lol !!! Great video Hank . Like others said 6x6 4x4 & few smaller blocks (hardwood) are your friends when doing undercarriage work. My family done every bit of undercarriage on every crawler machine they owned .
When it came to steel undercarriage the only thing we Didn't do was bolt pads to new rails . We let the undercarriage shop do that . We done the rest .

Use the skid steer to your advantage use the bucket to raise the front end of the skid steer up. If you are short on rollers why would you take the other side apart until you had enough to do it one time and be done instead of leaving one or two old rollers on it

Nice work boys major difference between doing machine maintenance in field to workshop Necessity is the Mother of Invention in field repairs I was a heavy equipment Apprentice 50years ago and when working on repairs with the Boss in the field he was a wizard at improvising like you guys that's one of the things I like about you guys ,and the Humour and the Accents I could listen to you talk all day .Oh and WYLIE,s joke about the lady being arrested for waving a fire arm in public was real funny old bugger I thought he was actually telling a real story till the punch line .Thanks guys

@@HamiltonvilleFarm I don't pull the tracks either for the rollers, put some solid blocks under the back before you raise it up with the bucket.
Get ya a couple of those short 2 x 4s lay one in line with the track so you can roll your the roller up on it slip another 2x under the end of that 2x , gives you a fulcrum to lift the roller in place easier and not strain to pry and lift it. I also have some small car scissor jacks I picked up at a junkyard laying around to help me lift and push things. Nice part is the impact fits them too, also use a 6" nipple with same threads as the grease fitting to stick out and shoots the grease in a bucket comes in handy on the farm and doesn't fill that cavity with a mess. I wasn't cutting ya down I love love you and wiley and the channel. Us old guys can't afford to strain to much lol!! Godbless

@@HamiltonvilleFarm so glad , you wouldn't believe how often I use scissor jacks they are a great set of extra hands and small , lightweight and compact. You can adjust easy and not bust knuckles prying.

HF, dun with the leftside track rollers. repete for the othside. that jackstand look like it was waiting for someone to get under it.

That would have been a lot easier if you just removed the track. Track takes 7 to 10 minutes to remove and 15 to 20 to put back on when on flat ground. Would have have helped your backs out as well.

I must say I really enjoyed the video, although Oh, I thought I was going to have to turn it off. I'm not used to tension between you two you could have cut it with a knife I'm glad you two kissed up and made up so I was able to finish watching it thanks guys. Maybe instead of looking at the owner's manual maybe an OSHA manual would be better put to use I worry about the two of you taking too many chances. Wiley says or is it Wally he'll Hank that's alright if it falls the bottle jack will catch it bottle jack is the size of a silver dollar that did not sound reassuring to me so I hope it was just stick. If a torque spec is not specified generally u need to look up what standard torque is for the bolt size

Probably been better to put 4 on each side. And took the best two out of the old set and put them in front since they are easier to get off and on.
I ordered two more and will do the other side soon
I have one word for the two of you. FULCRUM! Most basic thing when prying. Would have allowed you to use your body weight to lift those wheels into place. I was yelling at you, but I guess you couldn't hear me. Have a Great day!

Man,...you need to buy a 16"x16" square timber an cut a 20" long piece to put under the end of skid steer, then use the bucket to raise the front up. You could loose an arm doing it the way ya'll are doing it.
I put new track's on my 2018 Takeuchi being safe with no problems changing track's and if I would have needed to change roller's it would have been no problem changing them out. Be safe when doing work like that on these skid steer's. Good job tho. :)

Hank my grandpa told me one time about wearing gloves, he said the only thing you can do while wearing gloves is pee in your pants !!!
When you get ready to change tracks , lay down a good bit of oil dry park on top of the the oil dry , lift the machine, Collapse your tension cylinder, work the track side to side until it’s off. Then put the new track on the same way. The oil dry works great. Like a bag of marbles.
