Exo originally had 12 members and the were split in to group Exo-K and Exo-M, K focused singing their songs in korean and M focused on singing their song in Chinese. Which is why their earlier music videos have 2 versions which each group as the focus. After some time Kris and Luhan left the group. Two years later Tao left. And then there were 9.
Kris left EXO in April 2014 and Luhan left 6 months later in October 2014. Tao ended activities with EXO in August 2015. So it was only slightly more than a year after Kris left and 10 months after Luhan.
I am a big vocalist person. If your group has nice vocals there is a 85% chance that I will stan. That being said, in k-pop, EXO stand out to me for their ability to adapt to sudden change (as a group, in units, and as individual members), vocal control, their harmonizations, and the absolutely insane range of notes that the members can hit (even those that aren't in the position of main vocalist). Whenever they sing the sound is full, smooth and cohesive. The songs that they sing showcase their abilities greatly, and it never feels like they are out of their depth. Their discography to me is one of the best to be found in the k-pop industry, partially because they were able to create successful, wonderful sounding music that spans a variety of different genres. They are a group who constantly and consistently perform, sing, dance and rap well. Much of their mastery of their craft is showcased in their b-side tracks (Not that the title tracks are bad, or that they lack technique/finesse), and their winter albums. They are an amazingly adaptive group after experiencing so much difficulty in their career, and are definitely what I consider to be a pillar (One of the biggest/ most influential groups) in 3rd gen kpop. The super impressive duo performance with Chen and Baekhyun -- with the beautiful set -- was a cover of a famous old Korean song called "Really I Didn't Know" and it was on a singing competition TV program called Immortal Songs 2. This was from more than 9 years ago, so, it was when they were first starting out, which just goes to show you what amazing vocalists they have always been. Immortal Songs 2 was/is a weekly singing competition show where Idols and famous singers go on the show and compete against each other to be voted the best performance of the show by the audience. All the performances are sung live with a live band or orchestra. Each week there is a theme and most of the time the theme has something to do with a famous older well known singer, group, composer or artist or a specific genre or era of music, and all the songs are remixed covers of songs from the artist that is featured as the theme of that week's show. For instance, they have even done English weeks where the theme of the week is Michael Jackson songs or Michael Bolton songs and all the singers who competed on that episode sang Michael Jackson songs or Michael Bolton songs. (Michael Bolton was even on the show to critique the performances.) EXO's cover of "Open Arms," which is originally by the 1980s American pop-rock band Journey, just demonstrates how good they are at singing in English. Just listen to how clear their pronunciation is -- you would never know that they aren't fluent English speakers. This is a performance with all of EXO's main vocalists. D.O. and Baekhyun are the main vocalists in EXO-K and Luhan and Chen were the main vocalists in EXO-M. The funny thing about the clip where you saw EXO harmonizing was the fact that it wasn't planned. Xiumin isn't even one of the 3 main vocalists -- as a member of EXO-M/EXO he is a lead singer and lead rapper, but he also can hit the highest note out of all of the members -- so, that just goes to show you even more that EXO are all amazing vocalists. Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin make up EXO-CBX, a sub-unit of EXO. You should really check out another version of this video, which features all 9 of the members. The video you just watched was good, but it highlighted mostly their main vocalists and didn't show exactly how impressive all 9 of the members really are. omg, I'm a big fan of EXO, 1D, and Billkin, so I'm dying over here. Although I don't know much about singing techniques, I also focus more on the tone of a singer, and that's why I fell in love with Chanyeol's voice (the main rapper of EXO) and with Billkin's voice! I recommend you to listen to newest compilations because EXO has so many good singers and you should be able to see it by yourself!

Me to, i prefer tone more than range.. so even i love EXO member but for tone i love D.O.'s and Chanyeol's vocal tone. And a exo member has beautiful voice woth their different tone from.each other but when they sing as a group, their harmonization is the best and beautiful.

All members of Exo are talented but it's just a matter of personal preference.
