We miss you Christine.😪
Stevie wrote some good songs but I’ll take Christine McVie’s writing and voice over Nicks all day. She wrote and was primary vocalist for fully half of the songs from the Fleetwood Mac (1975) and Rumours albums yet Nicks gets a bulk of the praise.
You are in the minority, Stevie’s voice is like no other and her writing is award winning.
Christine McVie - F.M. 's soulful secret weapon.
A band with 3 lead singers and songwriters. Voices very distinct yet harmonized well, quite an arsenal, no wonder they found such huge success. Buckingham's genius in the studio brought it all together.
Love your style and analysis and info love you
Warm Ways isn't one of Christine McVie's hits or more recognizable songs, but it is probably my all-time favorite of hers. It is such a beautiful song, and jibes really well with the later slow songs on this wonderful album, Crystal and Landslide, which are all such exceptional slow songs.
Warm Ways is a great, underappreciated Fleetwood Mac track. Stylistically, it harkens back to their early-70s period, when Bob Welch was in the band.
The production you're referring to is what got Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks in the band.
I saw them in concert and I loved every decibel of it !
I have always absolutely LOVED Christine McVie ... loved her singing, her looks, her warmth, everything about her !!! There, I said it ... are you happy now🤣😁!?!?!?
It's absolutely correct to react first to the studio version. On the first of January 2023 I drove home and listened to the live album FM 1980/incl. Bonus tracks and The Dance 1993. The live versions are not so pop short, musically much more interesting: for me FM is an absolute live band - so full energy and passion with these three so different voices and five super artists.
specially on FM 1975: Monday Morning, Rhiannon (a live banger: Stevie gets into it and thrives 7:58), Say You Love Me, Worlds Turning, Landslide and the bluesy I'm Afraid (a live must, a trip and musical journey of Lindsey): all these are on FM Live 1980.
Ssecret tip: react to OH WELL/2 parts=long version of 1969 (about the same time and the same musical influence on rock music as Whole Lotta Love, Paranoid, Black Night; UK no.2 and Europeen wide a hit; not in US) from FM Mark I with the famous guitar Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood an John Mc Vie, then make the comparison with the live version of 1980 with Lindsey Buckingham (unfortunately only the rock part): OH WELL is an other unforgettable trip and musically journey too.
In the 70ties I woke up with FM, Jackson Browne, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Eagles .... and ended the day with Led Zeppelin, ELP, Deep Purple, Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis (with Peter and Steve) .... all great live artists!!!
Sorry forgot how good, complementary to Monday and relaxed Warm Way is; RIP to Christine, the soul of FM ❤
Great reaction. A bit of a sweeter album than rumors.
I like the air guitar you threw up. Always a good sign I'd say. :)
Loved that song Monday Morning when I was a kid. That album hit when I was 10 and charted with singles until I was nearly 12. I fell in love with Fleetwood Mac with this album. Diverse band for just 5 members. Fun song. Great job on reviews. Then Warm Ways. Signature Christine. Excellence and elegance. Christine McVie has to be one of the most elegant rock n rollers in history. And Buckingham's gift for producing a song is a secret weapon of the Mac all its own. The man is a musical genius. Christine was a hit song machine. What 15 out of their 30 singles were hers or something crazy. I listened to their albums when I was real young so it's hard to remember which were the singles or just my favorites, lol.
Wow, I'm so glad I found your reactions. I've always wanted someone to react to this Fleetwood Mac album, and you are nailing it. Great job. And Warm Ways is one of my favorite of their songs.
Such a great album this one. Hope you get to react to my favourite Fleetwood Mac song, the last song on this album “I’m So Afraid “. This song also contains my favourite guitar solo of all time. Keep up the good work loving the channel, cheers
I'm so Afraid is great but it truly lives when played live. It's grown into such a beast over the decades.
Fleetwood Mac could throw a wide range of sounds and songs at you. They had three great singers who were diverse in their talents.
APPLE MUSIC released all the FM albums in Dolby Atmos and idf you have a good sound system like SONOS they sound amazing!
Love this whole album....(wait'll you get to Tusk!)
They did 5 albums. The white 1975 debut, rumours 1977. Tusk 1979, mirage 1982 and my favourite tango in the night 1987. Five studio albums with this version of F.M
I’m one of the people who commented about the greatness of Monday Morning and the amazing audio quality of the album, given that it is ~45 years old. Thank you for covering both of these songs. Great stuff! Takes me back to high school days and being blown away with the writing, performing, and recording quality. I just knew, even then, we would still be listening to it when I was in my 60s.
It’s a happy tune with unhappy lyrics. One Monday morning everything is made for love but by Friday they are sick of each other. He’s telling her it’s ok if they break up- just decide and roll with it. Lindsey Buckingham is noted for several songs like that- upbeat music + grim, dark lyrics
There's something very cool about Mick Fleetwood's dry, slappy drum tone. He's one of those drummers you can instantly recognize from his tone, and "Monday Morning" really showcases it.
Listen to Christine's song "Songbird"
Funny, I've never thought of them as Pop. But considering I was 12 at the time and fell completely in love with Fleetwood Mac. The seventies youth was a different breed.
Lindsay Buckingham's guitar work is fantastic and so different track to track. Always in my top 10 guitarists. Christine's voice is much clearer than Stevie's and delivered with ease and beauty.
Syed this is not the start of FM. Go back a few years to listen to 'Albatross' and 'Black Magic Woman' (before Santana covered it) for instance.
I love the channel and I don't want to sound desperate, but when are we going to get to Led Zeppelin IV and Physical Graffiti music?
Interesting verse goes “I can’t live with your warm ways” 🤔
I had to quit early, because the jack for my headphones is screwy.😥 Not because I don't want this content! I do. I'll have to come back to it another time.
Let's Don't sugarcoat this Monday Morning, was alot better then the last song. It was Moore rocky up tempo.
Gypsy on mirage is one of their better songs from this lineup 1982, but tango 87 wins in front of white album 75 and rumours. A tie. Tusk better and groundbreaking compared to mirage where the record company wanted another rumours. The time between Peter Green with Bob Welch on guitar as band leader with Christine and John and always Mick. They did some good albums between 1970-1974. Underrated albums in heroes are hard to find, penguin and bare trees. Fm had around 15 lineups since 1967.
nicks and buckingham went to high school together and dated, so yea they know each other
perfect english ! Can understand everything you are saying
