Thanks, Phil. We Can treat this double stops as thirds, I think.
I must say I heard just short ago that sixths can be called thirds: I was talking with a colleague, who is learning to play accordion. He said “sometimes I must play thirds”. What do you mean, I asked. He said, well, you play for example a C and an E, but you play the E as low note and C as the high one. Those are sixths to me, I said, thinking that he had misunderstood his lessons. After a short search I found the so-called “thirds chords”. I must say they are still sixths to me.
