Just to clarify your instructions. Just pressing the arrows did not work on the units I installed. Once the up arrow is pressed and the door rises to clear the door opening, the middle (black/blue) must be pressed to save the setting. Then the down arrow will flash and you set the closing travel distance. Once complete, push the middle (black/blue) button again to save that setting. Then the lights will flash, the unit clicks and after a short interval, the door will automatically travel back up and down. I also try to set the door travel after the sensors are working. Some of door issues might be due to faulty wiring. There are also special shielded LED bulbs which do not interfere with the opener’s radio signals. I noticed you didn’t use those bulbs. Problems from interference might arise with remotes, though incandescent bulbs are a bigger problem for those remotes. Doors need to be balanced too before an opener can be installed. To test for balance the door should hang suspended when it is about 40% open but detached from the opener mechanism. I have run into issues with logic boards inhibiting door performance, but found Chamberlain live operators to be very helpful resolving the problem.
Hi I followed your instruction but I still have the same issue, the opener was working well till I changed the Wifi router then when I tried to add connect the device to the wifi it kept getting me this error. I really hope if you can kindly support. Much appreciated.
This is what I love about the internet. You sir are saving hundreds of people single handedly😂 with this straight forward and direct video. As for chamberlain, a year later after your video and they still haven’t updated their installation video or manuals. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.
After hours of searching the manual, searching google, and uninstalling/reinstalling everything I found your video and in seconds all is right with the world! We were losing our minds and convinced we had a defective unit that would need to be returned. Thank you so much for saving us!!
Thank you! No paper instructions anymore just an hour wasted on their website with no mention of setting the limits. Found your video and was done in 2 minutes
Thank you for this video. I had this problem after the internet connection was lost while the door was closed. This reset process returned the unit to working properly. Saved me a service call to a garage door company.
You just saved me $300! We tried everything to reprogram our chamberlain and we were at wits end until I stumbled across your video. Thanks for sharing and providing such clear explanations. Even my dad couldn’t figure out how to help me, but you were our hero!
Wow, I was having the same freaking problem, changed out sensors and rewired the whole thing and kept getting the blinking lights. This video was very helpful and I an now shaking my head at chamberlain for not even mentioning this anywhere in the instructions. How hard is it to have soemone write detailed instructions for stuff like this. Thanks fot the video.
Just bought this model brand new. I shared the same frustration as the rest. I've built entire recording studios, guitars rewired and installed many household items, but this damn thing made me question my skills. I rewired and tested 3 different times with the same result. NO motor and 2 light flashes. Sensors were lined up perfectly, even used a laser to line up the track and the wiring. Still nothing. WHY IS THIS STEP NOT IN THE MANUAL ??? I think Chamberlain should put a link to your channel in their manual! Dude, thank you very much for the pro tip! I was about to take it down.
You sir are a life true saver. Just spent a little over 2.5 hours installing a new Chamberlain GD opener today, when I then clicked the remote, and nothing happened except for a few click-sounds and the light blinking twice. After double & triple checking the wiring and still getting the same results of it not working, I was literally 5-minutes away from tearing it all down in order to return the GD-Opener back to Lowes. But just before doing so, I saw this video you posted, and low and behold, my new G-Door opener is working like a charm and perfectly now due to your prescribed fix... So, many-many thanks for posting your above video as it saved me from quite a bit of frustration of having to tear it all down and return it to Lowes, as I originally thought it was due to a start capacitor being fried. Thank you again, sir... Now my Sunday afternoon is free & open to happily go swimming with my wife instead.
Thank you SO much for this video! I was stuck with no answer considering paying somebody to trouble shoot my install. This solved my problem! Now my new Garage door opener works perfectly!
Thank you so much for this video. I just installed a brand new chamberlain add struggled with it for hours. All of their support pointed towards wiring problems or sensor issues. You solved it in 5 minutes!
Worked out Great!!!! Like the other person said....no answers anywhere. Thank you so much! Now my wife will have her garage door opener working on Christmas!
You saved me. After giving up and looking to pay to have a technician come out, and after watching 50 videos waste my time, you showed me how o fix my problem. THANK YOU !!!!!
Just installed a new logic board on a Sunday. I thought my garage door was going to be broke until I had availability that matched Chamberlain’s customer service. Thank you so much sir!!!!
New Chamberland 4505T got it up watching your installation video and it would not move up or down just clicked and thought I might have gotten a bad unit but I found this video and did these steps and it worked great. Thank you
I was looking at a lots of videos here but no body gave me a good explanation for my garage door problem. Thank you very much for your excellent video!!
Thank you for this video. I was having the same EXACT issue. Thought I bought a garage door with a bad motor. You saved me money from having an overhead garage door company coming out to help troubleshoot the issue. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
My garage door button was just clicking had no idea how to fix it. Was about to return the garage door opener. I came across this video and it was exactly the fix it needed! Thanks we’ll done
Dude, you saved me a lot of headache. This instantly worked. Bought and installed would not work, solid colors on the sensors. I did not have an installation manual with, very frustrating. I was literally going to return until I saw this.
Thank you so much for providing a simple fix to the two light blinking problem. I watched a number of different videos before coming across yours and it was the only one that actually fixed the problem. I don't have the garage door opener that you talked about, mine is a LiftMaster but it still resolved the issue. Thank you very much!
This video was very helpful. Thank you! I was not the one to install the unit so had to figure out what was the problem. After playing with the buttons and googling for about hour and half I was about to give up and probably pay a technician few hundred dollars to fix a simple issue. Google would only tell you that the wiring might be shorted and/or reversed. But wires were correct and problem persisted. Until I came across this informative video. I highly recommend subscribing to this channel.
Thank you sir for your video and information! I've just installed a new replacement Chamberlain Garage Door Opener and was the unit was not functional. I received several misaligned sensor errors even though I the online manual and ran several tests. I checked to see if the unit was in a bind and repositioned each sensor then wired them directly to the unit. This drove me nuts. After several hours, I initiated a virtual chat trying to find out an answer to my issue. I told them I was going to return the unit but they (Chamberlain) didn't care. I searched too many to count RUclips videos until I ran across yours. Again Thank you sir!😄
I used this concept & it fixed the issue, when I hit the button, the UP arrow lit up... (I had to hit the button again to swap it to program the bottom button) then hit it again after I programmed the bottom button. Model B4505T Thanks so much for the video
Thank you! Everywhere I checked, two flashes was listed as: Locked or misaligned sensor, even the MyQ app listed the diagnosis as "misaligned senor" . I spend hours messing with the sensor alignment. After watching your video I was able to resolve my issue in 10 minutes; I just needed to program the up/down travel. It would be great if Chamberlin had a different error code "Flash" for this issue.
Thank you so much. I checked everything multiple times. The troubleshooting online and manual was useless. Greatly appreciated your informative video! Great job thanks again! Every is working great.
Great video my friend. You helped me a million with your great explanations. I programmed my garage door opener in 2 minutes after watching your video.
Tremendous video! I thought I was going nuts trying to figure out what I wired incorrectly. Thanks for a clear and to the point video that will spare many a lot of frustration. Too bad Chamberlain didn't bother to mention any of this in their installation guide.
Got a new Craftsman garage door opener that was doing the same thing, tried this and it worked! Thank you for making a video about this. Most forums were saying something might be wrong with the logic board and as you mentioned the book does not cover this for troubleshooting. Saved me the headache of dismantling it and taking it back to the store for a replacement.
Thank you Get It Done! I was pulling my hair out after installing everything, because the sensors looked right, but door still wouldn't open. My openers didn't come with instructions. I'm sure they're available online, but you saved me a ton of time! Did what you did and my garage door is working as it should. Thanks again for taking the time to post!
My old garage door opener bit the dust. Went to Home Depot an purchased a new one. I called around to a few Garage Door companies to see what it would cost to install a "3rd party opener", as they call it. Every place wanted 250.00. I guess these guys have their PhD in Garage Door Repair. So......... Between another video for installation and your video for testing and troubleshooting it was fairly easy and I saved a bunch of money from the overpriced greedy installers.. Thank you.
Just a note because it took me a few tries - mine acted like there was a min / max range, meaning there seems to be a programmed maximum distance for both Down and Up. If I was at the maximum down and tried to push the down button, it wouldn't go any further. Solution was to move to the maximum "down", then reset the process again, and then set the "up". Basically once I figured out what was going on I had to cycle it twice. Thanks for the video and I also sent along a super thanks because you probably saved me ~$150 minimum.
Thank you very much!! Very helpful! Had exact issue. Light flashes twice. For 2 flashes the troubleshooting section only lists 'Replace logic board' as possible solution. Chamberlain needs to update their troubleshooting guide.
Hi there! Our garage door is Chamberlin. When I push the button on the remote the light on the opener blibks but nothing happens: neither open nor close. I reied what you recommend but still no luck. The door wouldn’t work by pressing the arrown on the motor unit either!
I was lubricating the chain this morning and it stopped working. The door is closed now; I’ve followed these instructions and still nothing. It blinks twice weather im pressing the remote or the door switch and still nothing. Any ideas?
Thank you. I could not find this information in the set-up manual. Or, I missed it. I was stumped. I was about ready to purchase new reverse sensors; thought I shorted one out.
Just installed one of these garage door openers and tried doing the clicking the middle button, then holding the UP button, and all I get is the two click sounds and flashing lights. No motor travel at all. I will admit that I did not run any wires to the unit, only just plugged it into a wall socket, is that the issue?
I called chamberlain and had to test the sensors and unplug for 3 min to reset it. Had to cut the sensors and attach at opener. When it worked I reattached to original location. Also had to remove battery. I put back in when door worked.
Really I think removing the battery and unplug for 3 min then set it up again made it work. It flashed a 4,6 code that is sensors but both light were solid.
We did change the circuit board and the lightbulb is still FAST blinking. The control opener doesn't work, the remote control doesn't work nor does the keypad. We really were hoping to fix ourselves. Any other advice?
This unit is 2 years old. None of that has changed. I swapped sensors from one side to the other so I could see the flashy one from the car. Now it’s being stupid.
My sensors were lit up properly and then I got the garage door heights programmed. Now the sensors aren’t lit but barely flicker when trying to open but the door won’t budge.
It still doesn’t open after i pressed the upward arrow. I did everything already. The rectangle button is yellow and connected to the wifi but for some reason when i try to program it it won’t open

Hi there!
Our garage door is Chamberlin. When I push the button on the remote the light on the opener blibks but nothing happens: neither open nor close. I reied what you recommend but still no luck. The door wouldn’t work by pressing the arrown on the motor unit either!
I have this same issue.
This video was very helpful thank for making this an easy fix considering tech support is AI now
Hi what if the door does not respond at all for the up and down button
Thank you, you saved me from calling chamberlain to ask to replace my logic board
I have rhe same situation but pushing the button did not assist or remedy rhe problem?🤨
Thank you! Fixed my problem.
Glad it helped!
I was lubricating the chain this morning and it stopped working. The door is closed now; I’ve followed these instructions and still nothing. It blinks twice weather im pressing the remote or the door switch and still nothing. Any ideas?

Man, you saved me a major headache...none of this is in the owners manual!!!

Thank you so much, this video helped to solve this problem ))
Thank you very much !!!!!

Awesome instructions, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Just installed one of these garage door openers and tried doing the clicking the middle button, then holding the UP button, and all I get is the two click sounds and flashing lights. No motor travel at all. I will admit that I did not run any wires to the unit, only just plugged it into a wall socket, is that the issue?
The unit will not work without the safety sensors installed
You are my hero! This was my problem, and ZERO info on the chamerlain site or manual.
What happens if it still doesn’t work? I tried this multiple times and did not work.
You ever figure it out? Mine went up and never went back down.
Same here. Sensors are lighting properly and light flashes twice when I try to operate the door.
I’m trying to instal right now and experiencing the same problem. Were you able to get it resolved?
I called chamberlain and had to test the sensors and unplug for 3 min to reset it. Had to cut the sensors and attach at opener. When it worked I reattached to original location. Also had to remove battery. I put back in when door worked.
Really I think removing the battery and unplug for 3 min then set it up again made it work. It flashed a 4,6 code that is sensors but both light were solid.

Yeah i have done this step multiple times and my light still blinks twice and the door wont open. Even after replacing the logic board. Sny thoughts?
Thanks you sir that could have saved us 2.5 hours and a Hella lot cussing. Much respect
Glad I could help
We did change the circuit board and the lightbulb is still FAST blinking. The control opener doesn't work, the remote control doesn't work nor does the keypad. We really were hoping to fix ourselves. Any other advice?
Thanks for the vid! Wifey thinks I’m a genius now lol
Hahaha you are a genius you found this video. Great job
@@getitdonehomerepair 😂😂😂
I get the 10 flashes,.... won't go down. Solid lights on both sensors. Thoughts ?
Did you try to adjust the travel limit on the main unit
This unit is 2 years old. None of that has changed. I swapped sensors from one side to the other so I could see the flashy one from the car. Now it’s being stupid.
Thank you soo much ✌️
Glad it helped! Don't for to like and subscribe.
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
Thank you, that worked.
Glad it helped
My up and down arrows are flashing yellow. What does that mean? This is even after I followed your instructions
Usually when the arrow are flashing the travel limit needs to be adjusted. I would recommend clearing it out and reset
My sensors were lit up properly and then I got the garage door heights programmed. Now the sensors aren’t lit but barely flicker when trying to open but the door won’t budge.
Did everything in video still light flashes twice , motor runs adjusted top and bottom, sensors ok… ?
Thank you!😊
It still doesn’t open after i pressed the upward arrow. I did everything already. The rectangle button is yellow and connected to the wifi but for some reason when i try to program it it won’t open
Same
Thank you.
Welcome!
I followed this but after pressing the up arrow and having the door come all the way up, it is stuck and won’t go down
Great Thanks
You are welcome
I have a Chamberlain and I don't have those buttons. No Wi-fi either. Just the basic one.
So is there another area to adjust that
Can you send me a picture of your adjustments on the opener ?
