Playing with a Lefty as a tourney partner this may have been my favorite video that you have done. Lot easier to show him this video than try to explain what we need to do more of. Well done. Thank you!!

Perfect now I know exactly how to play you two. no more “chicken winging” to tanners ideal backhand counter lol

Always enjoy watching and learning from you both!! Tanner, my doubles partner and I saw you Wednesday morning before your first singles game at Pictona…hope the tournament is going well for you! We ended up with Bronze…(should’ve used more of our mental game to get us through a couple of games) but overall a great tournament! Best of luck to you two…I’ll keep watching :)

This is a very informative video on the advantages of righty-lefty teams and the strategies they can implement in the game.
However, to balance things out, I am also curious about key vulnerabilities of righty-lefty arrangement and how can they be exploited by opposing teams.

Would love to see the next game, you two play together. When both share the same strategy, it would be that much easier to build a strong team chemistry. For a traditional righty, they shall have strong backhand flick (and two handed counter), like Tardio and Patriquin

Im a lefty... one disadvantage that I encounter is there are times that we are both on our backhands.

I love playing with Lefty’s. Even if they drop to our back hands, we slide over and it gives us chances for Ernie’s.

When partner protecting on the 4th, what stops the 3rd from going down the line when you cheat so far to the middle? It seems to me to take that away you would need to return down the line when normal and cross court when unwinding the stack.
As a leftie, this was the video I’ve been waiting for. Absolute gold.

Nothing takes it away. People dont hit there 3rd line often. If they do, adjust. Can give fakes. Then it becomes chess.
      Glad it helped!!

@@thatpickleballguy Let's say I'm the right side lefty returner. If I return line, I know the cross-court 3rd will be a drop, a drive will go wide. So we can shrink the court - partner cheating midde and me cheating line. Unwinding the stack (where I've been burned a lot), returning line then immediate vacating is a recipe for disaster (lofty return helps a lot here). Returning cross-court again allows us to shrink the court and I get some partner protection as we cross. Does this make any sense? I've landed on it mostly by trial and error and it may seem effective just based on the general level of my competition. And yeah, faking the unwind by hand signals is also a great tactic.
Actually, a video on unwinding stacks would be great!

I find it hard to play with a left hander becasue there's often times confusion on who takes the middle on most shots. What is the proper way to deal with this type of confusion?

But what about when each has their strong side on the outside of the court? You only showed what happens when the strong sides are both in the middle

That's why you stack, you will always have strong sides in the middle.
