Don't forget to swab the top of your bottle where you remove the medication from, along with the injection site. Not everyone has the auto injectors or prefilled syringes.

My chemo doctor used to pinch me lightly with her fingernail and then put the needle in. She said your brain is concentrating on that punch rather than the needle stick. Hope that helps even one person 😊

I live here in Houston. Just got the compound from a pharmacy my dr recommended. I tried to get the pen, Wegovy and Mounjaro but my insurance denied twice. That would have cost me 345.00 a month but denied. This compound or generic brand was 88.00 including syringes monthly. It is not the pen all in one. This is a vial where u draw out the amount. I just got today an went straight to my PC an his nurse showed me how to do it and then gave me the shot. They said I can come weekly an they will give me the shot if I’m not comfortable trying myself. Sooo I shall see. I’m hopeful.

I was on semaglutide, nausea and all, and lost almost 30lbs., but took a break because the nausea got so bad. I'm back on it, but not feeling anything..no nausea, no appetite suppressant. I'm following the usual increased dosages and did .75 this morning. So far nothing. Any suggestions please?

.5 is at the 5 or 50 unit mark. Just move the decimal to the left once. .1 would be the 1 or 10, .2 would be the 2 or 20 etc.

How nauseous do you get and how long does it last? I just got a prescription today, But I am afraid to take it, As i'm a full time mom with two kids, And I don't want to be constantly nauseous if it will affect their care.
Hi! Nausea is a common side effect but does not always effect every patient. The amount of nauesea does vary per patient if you were to experience it, just depending on how your body responds to the medication. If you are experiencing lots of nausea you can always contact your provider to see if they would be able to prescribe you something to alleviate the nausea or if they have any alternative suggestions for you. You can also just try taking it in the evening. It could help deflect the feeling of it.
Just think of it this way we dealt with nausea to gain weight and have kids so we gotta be nauseous get back snatched (much more fun lol)
Ask your doc to prescribe you something for nausea…it makes a big difference

I said the same thing at first but the needle is so small you don't feel it. Once you do it once it's easy!
Ozempic comes in a pen and the needle is teeny tiny. It's really easy to administer and practically painless.

@@juliocruz459 if I don't jab myself fairly quickly then I find sometimes the needle doesn't penetrate my skin and I just end up poking myself. I will mention, I am using likely cheap needles so sometimes the needles may be duds..so quick seems to always do the trick for me.
I'm on 0.5ml and trying to figure did I do it right. I feel like I didn't inject enough but don't want to overdue it. It is confusing between 5ml and then 50 units. I stopped at the first 5 on the syringe.

I'm currently taking rybelsus 3mg, the pill version of ozempic for type 2 diabetes because I'm a scardy cat of needles.
Can’t feel the needle at all, I’m scared of needles but once you stick yourself quick you feel nothing, barely a prick. The needle is so thin and short

I ate breakfast this morning but not hungry for anything else but i am the type of person only do one or two meals anyway. Healthy keto but I have insulin resistance regardless eating veggies meat for two years. I am thin everywhere except my stomach so frustrating. In 6 months belly doesn't go down. I have to think of plan B...I am a young woman can't uses Spanx forever. If I don't tell someone they will never know. My friends said you have a body of a model, yeah right... Spanx hid the imperfections. I had fours kids and two were C-section.

Hi! Our PA Cathy was using semaglutide and was able to reach her goal weight after a couple months. Now she is doing maintenance if needed! Everyone's weight loss journey is different and varies but on average patients will lose about 1-2 pounds a week depending on your diet and exercise while on the program as well. 🙂

How long does the nausea last after the first injection
Everyone is different, not all patients experience nausea it just depends on your body and how you respond to the medication.
What’s the difference between this and Ozempic or Wegovy? Seem like this is safer than the diabetic stuff people are using.
Hi! Semaglutide is the generic version of Ozempic and Wegovy that we get compounded to include B12 to help decrease side effects. The B12 helps with any nausea, keeping energy levels up, and will be a better experience for you while on the medication all around. It also helps with the cost because Wegovy without insurance is $1800 a month, takes a month approval usually with insurance, and you have to be 40+ BMI. Wegovy is unavailable most places right now as well so it may be hard to find a provider that can prescribe it to you!

Thank you do this. I was asked if I wanted to try this. I do want to lose weight and body fat. However, I don't feel comfortable injecting myself. Rather a doctor do it.
Completely understandable! We can't speak on other offices but at our office the medication is pre-drawn in a very small insulin syringe and we teach you how to inject. The first injection is always a little nerve-wracking but since the needle is so small, lots of our patients get used to it very quickly and haven't had any concerns 🙂
No one show how to draw it from the vial. I think I figured it out correctly but I was so irritated that I got no instructions.
So sorry to hear that, you can definitely discuss with the office that you got the product from, here at our office we do draw up the medication for you and provide the patients with the pre drawn syringes.

Can anyone help me? I got my very FIRST meds today and dosage is 0.25mg. They provided me with a 1/2 ml syringe. They told me take 50units (which is the whole syringe) I haven't yet because seems like a lot for first dosage. Called pharmacy they said they THINK that's right. I am scared to continue until I confirm correct dosage. Does anyone know if this sounds right if I'm using a 1/2ml syringe?

Totally up to you! B12 can sometimes help to combat some nausea that may happen with the semaglutide.

My friend whos obese uses this. But his stomach is always upset. But he did drop (a few pounds). His family used it and lost alot of weight. Me, im a size large. It could be worse. I tried the shot but i was badly sick for a week and had severe vaginal bleeding from it. (Mind you, im post menopause). My friend tried to get me to try it again but i said no way in hell. Ill just have to lose weight the old fashion way. By deciding to give up some of my comfort habits. Keep going for walks. And just have self acceptance. Versus perfectionism. @@TheBingoLady

Hi! We would recommend consulting with the physician that prescribed the medication to you. Typically we let patients know that the medication can sit out for 5 days room temperature at the most but we would still recommend that you consult with your physician first to be safe.

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Wegovy and Ozempic that causes the weight loss. If you get it from a doctor it will be in syringe pens that are pre-dosed, if you do a weightless spa/program it will be in a vial that you draw up and inject every week.

It’s a small insulin syringe like a 31 or 31 and 5/16 gauge or something and only like 8mm in length…and the spots you’d inject won’t feel hardly anything if at all.

We get it compounded to include B12 which would make it red :)
I dont understand why skinny people take this to lose weight. Blows my mind! I think it should be given to people who have a high BMI that would qualify for weight loss surgery. If the right people were taking it maybe there wouldn't be such a shortage.
It is given to people with high bmi but then once you lose weight because it’s working, then people think “oh you’re skinny, why are you on it?” Assuming she wasn’t overweight to begin with and the reason why she’s lost so much weight now and is “skinny”, you still have to take the medicine to maintain your weight…stop judging people when you don’t even know what’s going on
And there’s a shortage because there are so many overweight people with a bmi of 30 and over! Thats why the shortage. People don’t think I’m overweight but they don’t realize I was a bmi of 30! 5’5 180 pounds! But folks just always wanna assume 😣

That sounds like an allergic reaction. I would first try switching the alcohol wipe to something else, if it continues then it’s likely the medication

You inject every week forever really to maintain. You get a months worth prescription. Some insurance pays, some insurance will pay if you have been in a weightless program for 9 months, your doctor can fight that though depending on how cool your doctor is or you can go to weightless clinics or health spas. They will do a start up visit then you pay out of pocket and then you get it in the mail every month. Without insurance from a pharmacy it's $1800 and lower out of pocket, but varies after that depending on what option you choose. Got mine today and I can't wait to get my body back tight and right 🙌🙌

At our office we don't give patients the vial, we provide them with the prefilled syringes so we did not need to show how to fill the syringe or clean the bottle since we do all that for you! :)
