Charlie the Twitch Vocal Coach goes through three legendary tenors, Luciano Pavarotti, Jarkko Ahola, and Eric Adams of Manowar all singing Nessun Dorma in various styles. The three tenors bring something completely unique and personalized to the famous opera aria from Puccini's Turandot. This is not a comparison as much as it is a side-by-side observation of what three different artists do with the same music. It's really fascinating to react to them doing something so unique and personal in front of an audience in different styles.

Eric Adams is a living legend, one of the best metal singers all time. Jarkko Ahola is very very good. Pavarotti, no words
Eric fancies Jarkko's vocals lol
Thanks for saying this cos it's not said enough. Eric has been my #1 decades for his sheer versatility, power and control. He also aged gracefully and Man0waR still produce the best ballads in metal.
Would just like to point out that unlike the other two, Adams isn't performing this for an Operatic audience.
He literally dedicated this song to his mother who passed away just before he did his first rendition of this.
What makes the Eric Adams version my favorite is it is surround by a Manowar concert. Kings of Metals! Hail and Kill forever!
Hail, hail, hail and kill!
eric adams is a mad man.
He sang this last song after 2 hours of metal 😮not the easiest thing to do; and if i'm not wrong, after his mom passed away few days before....
my deepest respect to Eric and Manowar. They did all this in the 'Arena di Verona', Italy.
The heart of classical music in Europe. And they did not fail.
Hail to the Gods of true metal !
Wouldn't it be interesting to know what Mr. Pavarotti thought about this version ?
nope, that one is Milan 1999, in the parking lot of Filaforum (now know as Forum di Assago), at the vey end of that year Gods of Metal
I'm Italian, i saw him live in Milano 2002. Nessun Dorma was a unique moment, Eric Adams is the one of the best singer in the story of music. Transport, feeling, power, techinque.
Visto dal vivo a Roma,nel 2002, è davvero incredibile,il mio cantante preferito!
Seen him in Milan '99, first big concert of my life, totally blown away (the concert in the video, by the way)
Eric Adams recorded this song as a tribute to his mother. Explains a lot about the comment you made of "singing from the heart"
Eric Adams singing this is what first opened my eyes to opera being young and dumb when it came to music, i was always stuck in my metal mode, once i heard him sing this i looked up Pavarotti and feel in love with opera
Eric Adams. One of the greatest ever. Please react to Manowar. And of course. Pavarotti, no words. He is a God.
Eric Adams aka Lou Marullo with some Italian blood in his veins shows his emotions in this concert from Italy. The history tells about audience crying and phoning home to their family and frinds sharing the moment.
I was there in Monza (Milan) and I confirm 100%
@@tommasolabarile3278 lucky you
I love Eric's version because to me it transports the most feelings. But all three versions are awesome of course.
The first time of ever when manowar play nessun dorma was a Surprise for metal fan in italy at gods of metal festiva 1999 me and my Friends seen that live show.........when Eric start to sing nessun dorma give the 25000 people under the stage a Surprise.......... whaaaaat????? Ehi guys it's really???? No isn' t possibile at the endless Scream we was shocked!!........now After 2000 live show in Italy and Europe this Is the best metal Singer performance of ever!!
@@peiroleridaniele3689 spero che i manowar tornino in Italia prima che si ritirino, li ho scoperti tardi ma devo sentirli una volta nella vita. Hail and kill fratello 🤘🏻
@@peiroleridaniele3689 gods of metal? Was that with Helloween as well? I’m not sure if it was a different year
@@trickers24 no Helloween was 2000 in Monza stadiium the first of 2 days Manowar was 1999 in Assago (Milano) the thrid gods of metal
Jarkko 🖤 he sang opera songs like a true metal singer 😀 the end is fantastic. I love him 💞
The first time of ever when manowar play nessun dorma was at gods of metal 1999 in milan Italia and i was under the stage! This Is gods of metal 2002 Teo great experience
Wonderful video!!! Note, Eric did it as part of a list of some of the heaviest metal tracks that involve a shit ton of screaming too :p
crap
@@margaretsmith2570 what?!
Jarkko singing Nessun Dorma on a good day is beyond comprehension, the difference is like a day and night. He will perform with symphony orchestra coming summer so I hope there will be a proper pro version coming out for this.
The climax of Nessun Dorma specifically sung by Pavarotti ALWAYS immediately brings me to tears
It’s required with Pavarotti. The world lost something special when he passed.
Imagine if Eric Adams had the same amount of teachers, vocalists and vocal experience people to guide him.... he is already unbeatable, he would be unbeatable forevermore in the history of mankind!
PS: You got the 'forevermore' hint, didnt you? (manowar fans)
Jarkko Ahola has not taken lessons. He is self taught.
Eric is the King!
i'm Italian and i see live in 1999 in Milan Eric when at the end of concert he gonna sing Nessundorma and trust me ...live is a different thing, oh sorry i see now the end of the video i was at that concert and this is the video wow
Pavarotti makes you cry. Jarko is excellent for a clear and clean diction. Eric makes you want to up your weight during your workout and break the gym
But Jarko diction is wrong. Doesn't get a single 'r' right
Gods of Metal had few kids.... (RIP) Dio, Matt Barlow, Snowy Shaw and Eric Adams ... there was a girl too with name Floor
btw... Eric was singing this in Italy :D extra points for him
Jarkko let’s his personality and style show at the end and I love that! Haha!
Eric Adams - Hail and Kill! I love his version of Nessun Dorma.
Jarkko's version of My Way with Northern Kings is also quite spectacular.
Said 666 times b4, saying it agai; Eric Adams IS one of the best singers on this forsaken planet. Hail Eric Adams!
You should check out and would be nice if you reacted to Jarkkos take on this at the Olavinlinna castle when he is not sick...it is just out of this world...thanks for a very good video, really enjoyed this.
Check Adam Lambert singing this in Bologna, Italy during their current 2022 Rhapsody tour. It’s a shortened version and was an impromptu performance for their Italian audience. He had very little opera training many many years ago (6 months or so) but compared to the many, many years opera singers train, I think Adam sounds incredible. I heard Bologna was the birthplace of opera so Queen decided to do a bit of a surprise during the concert. The audience loved it.
Sir Eric Adams is God !
Thanks for reacting to this, been listening to Eric Adams for 30 years now! The smile on your face is epic.
It was because of Manowar that a got into classical music. They were always talking about Richard Wagner. I went and bought a CD with various songs on it
When Tannhauser Pilgrims chorus started i finally understood the saying “. I never knew how empty my soul was until it was filled “ unbelievably epic
Eric has a powerful yet focused voice. You have got a new subscriber🤘
I was 15 years old when I first heard Pavarotti singing Caruso. It was love at first sight. ❤️
Other tenors sing, Eric Adams KILLS!
Gran vencedor Eric Adams!!!! LONG LIFE HEAVY METAL!!!!
Charlie, one of the reasons Jarkko is famous is that he is one of the few that can do a credible Eric Adams cover. Dan Vasc is even better, though.
Also, Eric doesn't use so much compression when he isn't doing the last song in two hour set. 😉
If you want to see one of the more impressive Manowar songs, try Mountains. Imagine listening to it in 1984...
You think this is an Eric Adams cover? Lol
@@CharlieCalottaReacts So is this ruclips.net/video/-osY56QB58o/видео.html a cover.
Turandot is Puccini. Said so in the album cover if I didn't know it already, ffs.
@@CharlieCalottaReacts Probably what he meant is... Eric Adams is Jarkko Ahola's idol. Ahola's old band Teräsbetoni is pretty much a Finnish version of Manowar. I am pretty sure Jarkko sang it on the show because of Manowar covering the song on their album and Adams in that video singing it live in Milan. Adams is actually American-Italian so that's why his dictation is so good.
I wish we had Caruso record of this. Sadly he passed away a few years before he could have recorded it
Three different versions, each great in its own way. But you should also check out Dan Vasc's version! It's just so awesome too! 🤩🔥
Eric is a vocal monster
Eric the IMMORTAL!!
Can't wait to see if roumors are True about Jarkko and Nightwish. Love to see how Floor can help hin with his voice.
Well, Jarkko would have to cancel his personal gigs if he'd join Nightwish. Also Nightwish needs mainly a bassist, which Jarkko also is. But Jarkko is mainly singer. With his talent, would he settle to be a bassist and background singer? Don't know.
@@Susirajantakaa Well... Soon enough we'll find out
Does Jarkko need help with his voice, really?
For me the one and only version of nessun dorma is that of Corelli ,the greatest spinto eroico tenor.
crap
From the United States of America all hail Manowar
Wait in the context of the opera, hadn't he already guessed the riddles, and the princess had to guess his name by dawn ?
Have you gotten to check out any Teräsbetoni yet?
Lol
One additional artist to listen to doing this: Aretha Franklin, at one of the big awards shows.
Eric adams is a baritone
Your stream overlay looks amazing.
In 2019 I finally got to hear Manowar live , and man Eric is still a beast .....
Between some songs he was talking with the crowd right and he goes like "okay guys so I'll sing I want you to copy and sing it after me"
And he goes like a simple "Yeeeah!" and we yell Yeeeah as well
And then he goes higher and louder Yeeeah! , and we yell Yeeeah again
And man it felt like he was flexing on us I was like dude what the hell how can you do this woah
And he then does this like 7 more times going higher and higher and holding it longer and longer each time
I just gave up on like lvl 3 my vocal cords literally died and he was doing just as a fun in between the songs kinda thing :D
I remember that from a show in Germany. That was fun!
Keep in mind Eric was 67 when you saw that.
Eric Adams (Louis Marullo) Is in the top realm of singers ever to live. Doing this during a concert not a one off.
Ever heard Pavarottis favourite Nessun Dorma? Jussi Björling from the 40´s
not to take anything away from anyone, but what if pavarotti was recorded with today's soft- and hardware.
You sure Adams is a tenor? In my knowledge he is a baritone
Jussi Björling is above all other tenors period!!
crap
All 3 of them are in their own way world class! But to be honest i prefer always the one and only Pavarotti. All hail Manowar!
I may get laughed out of here for saying this, but please listen before you judge me, haha. Michael Bolton does a version of this song that really surprised me. I think his more recent recording from the album A Symphony of Hits is better than the older recording he did of it.
No one will laugh at ya here man - if someone would Charlie would kick their *ss cheers for your comment
@@ecowarriorprincessx Haha. Thank you for the kind words.
crap
No Placido Domingo ???? Eric Adams awesome !
I agree. Placido blows them all away.
I don’t get why they call Eric Adams a baritone, he is so obviously a tenor
I have something a bit different for you. We all know that Pavarotti slays _Nessun Dorma,_ but what happens when the master is suddenly ill and finds just a few minutes before showtime that he cannot perform at the Grammy as scheduled? Well, he calls on a very special friend, who agrees to give a very unique and special rendition of this traditional song. And who is this friend, you might ask? None other than the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin!! You must experience a truly unique take on the classic, as only Aretha can provide... and with only a few minutes notice!
_Nessun Dorma_ (Aretha Franklin, live at the Grammys, 1998) - ruclips.net/video/k33sINjn9o0/видео.html
Hell no, I would take Sarah brightmen Nessun dorma version anyday, it's far superior
@@donone352 Well, I'm sure it's fantastic. Sarah Brightman is a goddess! But there is something special about hearing the Queen of Soul sing a "classical" piece that is just... special.
Greetings from Brazil
Meaning it's recorded like old led zepplin or black sabbath albums and sounds like it was recorded through a tin can.
Please do react to SHINee Onew "Nessun Dorma"... he is a Kpop legend, he doesn't got any proper classical music study but he have a natural great vocals. He is great. Looking forward for your reaction. Thank you.😊💚
Listen studio version of Manowar version.
Never heard of Ahola. That was't too good. Adams does a respectable job for someone out of his element.
Not in any way out of his element. This is during a concert. Listen to the album version on Warriors of the world, too. He is Italian.
Eric is a monster
I've been told Eric Adams is a baritone... either way he is a BAMF
Better Nessun dorma by Jarkko
ruclips.net/video/ngCVtav7gWY/видео.html
And this one
ruclips.net/video/rMdLEAqawSA/видео.html
Kinda love all. Though I'm not into Opera as such. So, I would say I'm most impressed by Jarko, then Manowar and least by Pavarotti.
But that's just because it's all metal for me ;)
It's just totally UNREAL, how good singers metal brings. And they would be just as excellent on other music styles...
Well, not all. But, you know, a few of them!
Eric Adams the best Singer of the world ever.
you must be joking he`s crap!!!
Well…not really.
@@carolhagerty4288 NO??? WHO IS THE BEST ACCORDING TO YOU?????
Missing Jussi Björling, but yes I loved this. Really nice comparsion!
He's my personal favorite
I love him too. Thank you for this video. It's interesting.
I must mention that in the context of the opera Turandot, the Prince has already answered well to the 3 questions, but he then defyied the chinese princess Turandot (and subsequently the people that is then requested to help) to guess what is his name (he's there incognito with some relatives that will be, unfortunately, spotted and threatened and you should read more in wikipedia if you are curious...), and he "just" has to wait until the end of the night to gain the hand of the princess that could otherwise be freed of her engagement of marrying who answers right to the 3 questions (you have to know that many princes failed in answering and had their heads removed...).
Hail and Kill !
It’s a B btw
Pavarotti is the goat
Greatest of all time
I AGREE HE WAS THE BEST.

Singing Nessun Dorma
They're all great, but I'm sorry, Pavarotti is quite clearly the best -- as he should be since, this is his wheelhouse.
Jarkko Ahola 👍👍💯💯
Please react to Marc Martel "mercurotti", he is a singer who can imitate perfectly Freddy Mercury (because he is anatomically very similar) and in the video he creates a duo of "pavarotti" and "freddy Mercury", imitating both.
I just commented while watching and then you mention it. 😅
MANOWAR 🍻💥💪
Eric Adams... ,😔😔😔😔😔😭😭😭😀😀😀😀👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Eric is el mejor
Eric Adams the bedt
We like where Metal is now. The more mainstream any genre gets the worse it becomes.
😘
And they call Eric Adams a baritone, tenor as f
But...Eric Adams is Baritone not Tenor...
More great lml
Finnish and Italian languages have over 400 same words. Different meaning but anyway.
Reincarnated Jussi Björling.
Pavarotti is a beast. But I'm always going to go for Jussi Björling. But that may also be a bit of patriotic bias ☺️
not fair comparing anyone to the GOAT Pav is incomparable
No one was comparing lol
Jarkko is a light tenor while Pavarotti is more of a Dramatic tenor, their voices are naturally different. He could sound powerful if he wants, but it's practically impossible to be as powerful as a dramatic tenor is.
Like to hear yourself talk huh?
Sarah brightmen Nessun doman was far superior than the last two singers. Pavarotti will forever be god tho
Pavarotti is light years away from these good singers, sorry to say
Pavarotti is trained, professional opera singer. So of course he is.
How do you think he would perform in a metal concert? Screaming, belting and running around.
Rubbish. Different styles my friend. Eric is a metal singer but branched out into opera and totally owned it.
What does that tell you?
@@Highlander1518 owned it in a metal cover, not on an opera stage. Huge difference....
@@WarrioRAbsolutE Yeah but he did it in an operatic style much like Freddie did with Monserrat Cabelle. It’s called versatility. I’d never expect Eric to go ‘full opera’ and sing at an actual opera. It’s two completely different genres of music….Eric owned it in his own way and it really showed how good he is.
