- Nessun Dorma Luciano Pavarotti reaction. This is the Italian powerhouse Opera superstar singing one of his best known songs.
Its now synonymous with the Champions league tournament.
Pavarotti has performed this song all over the world and this particular show is from a Paris concert.
Pavarotti has also perdormed Nessum Dorma at the Olympics and there was the famous 1994 Turandot performance as well.
It is rather very apt that this champion singer is known for a song that represents sporting greats!

When Pavarotti sings we are all Italian for a day.
Funniest comment for ages:)
Yep soo[o.o true
Yes and we are all one
That's very true!!!
we are all in heaven with his singing---
This one aria is so iconic nobody will ever be able to perform it without people comparing it to his performance of it. His voice, his presence is just beyond compare. You can hear it- You can see it in his face when he sings it. Nobody will ever top this.
I know they lived in different centuries but it feels like Puccini wrote it for Pavarotti specifically. I can't think of one without the other.
Jussi Björling : Hold My strong Coffee
@@alexnordh He had the range but not the same purity.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve heard him sing this and I still get chills and lose my breath every time
The last 15 seconds all off ONE breath. The man was on another level.
How about him holding this note !

He’s owns this 100% + interest. Touches your soul.
Classical music is a whole other world of sounds, keep exploring Harri.
my fav piece of orchestreal or how u spell it is... Air on a G string!swelling up and down and never presses on too much!Opera is another beast!duets are nice but this piece is a male opera singers singers Mount Olympus!build ups and an epic finish build up by the orchestra and back up singers!
In his documentary it’s stated that he would say when he would go on stage to sing, he went to die. He sang from every depth of his soul. Appreciated your reaction and I didn’t know that about football awesome
its not the Champions League hymn but it is an amazing piece of art
The last 15 seconds all off ONE breath. The man on another level.
My favorite song of all time sung by my favorite tenor of all time! Gives me goosebumps every time!!!
I was Master Carpenter for New York Grand Opera for over 10 years, and this Aria still brings me to tears...
Luciano Pavarotti is the greatest tenor of all time. His voice is from heaven and no one comes close to this wonderful voice. Bravo!!!
When he is "on" he is tremendous. But when he ain't "on", he is off.
I´m sorry, but I think the greatest Tenor of all time was Enrico Caruso..... Even Mr. Pavarotti thought so......
Pavarotti's version of Caruso, is one of the most beautiful pieces of art you will ever witness
Listen to Mario Lanza and you will rethink your choice !
@@kennethhudson5513 nope I won't. He's amazing too. no doubt. His voice sounds warmer to my ears but I prefer the timbre of L. Pavarotti.
Listen to Lucio Dalla singing Caruso together with Pavarotti it's great
He’s BETTER THAN CARUSO!
Franco corelli is the best.
I'm not a big opera fan but I always enjoy this song and this live performance , this man could sing !
Puccini, Turandot.
An incredibile piece of italian opera.
Nessun dorma is the most famous part of it.
Pavarotti is one of the singer inspiring Dimash 💗
He had perfect pitch, which is on display here. Wonderful.
Gives me goosebumps every time 💜🎶
Harri, I'm new to your channel and just heard this reaction. Wonderful job!
I'm a retired classical musician and I was taken by your observation that Pavarotti seemed to go "somewhere else" before coming back down. Your description reminded me of my first "transcendent" music experience, at conservatory in 1964. It was during a concert by the Russian cellist Mstislav Rostrovich. He was playing a very fast passage and I was conscious of how terribly difficult it was and (even though he was on the stage and I in the balcony) how far ABOVE us he was.
But suddenly EVERYTHING CHANGED. What he was playing didn't seem hard at all now. It was the easiest thing in the world. It was... how can I describe it...almost SPIRITUALLY DELICIOUS (whatever that is). He wasn't above us anymore; he had lifted us up to his level and we were all sharing these delicious moments. I know this all may sound psychedelic or hallucinogenic, but I was not, and have never been, on any mind-altering drug. Others at the concert shared similar reactions, and I've had similar experiences with music over the years since.
I don't know if my remembrance will strike a chord with you or any other readers. I offer them as food for thought.
Opera takes me to a different place. Almost makes me breathless. Love it ❤️ Pavarotti is the King of opera
Goosebumps and tears every time... Transcendence.
RIP Luciano🕊️
Nessun Dorma is an Aria by Puccini.
React to Luciano Pavarotti Caruso, I believe he performed it at the same concert in Paris. You will not regret listening to Pavarottis version of Caruso, it is one of the most beautiful pieces of art you will ever witness
This is a song and performance that expresses the deepest and most sincere of human feelings. It’s universal, not just Italian.💖
Hi Harri, the Italians call him adoringly PAPA, he is an ICON in Italy. I am no fan of opera, but I very much respect artists that treasure their craft as Signore Pavarotti did. In England the Queen would have made him a Sir. In Italy the whole nation sees him as part of the Familia. Even a German can grieve over the death of a great artist and musician. As always You and yours stay save and healthy. Gg.
NOBODY in Italy calls Pavarotti "papa"
@@lolapanola282 Sorry my bad, got wrong info. PEACE
Please read the story behind this song, it will blow you away and then watch him sing it again with the understanding of his passion. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Harri, if you like the crazy eyes check out Luciano singing same song at The 3 Tenors concert at Dodger Stadium, I believe in the 90's...love your reactions
First of all - thanks for your reaction :-). But this isn't the Champions League Anthem. That anthem was written by Tony Britten in 1992 and is based on a piece by Georg Friedrich Händel. "Nessun dorma" on the other hand is an aria from the opera "Turandot" by Giacomo Puccino - written in the early 1920s.
Ouf somebody noticed it. Glad you did.
He was just magnificent
The very end, he's singing "I will win. I will win. I WILL WIN." So, that's likely why they chose it as the Champions League song. ;)
It has nothing to do with the champions league anthem, these are 2 different songs. Unbelievable.
Never tire of this.
You just watched perfection
More please .
El Maestro Pavarotti brings our souls above Mt. Everest !
I'm probably twice your age, but it warms my heart to see your emotional reaction to a beautiful aria sung by the world's greatest tenor.
Always brings tears to my eyes.
Dear Brother, I performed this EXQUISITE piece on a grand piano for the funeral of dear and beautiful friend, who was also an AMAZING PIANIST!
As wonderful as it is to hear this piece, the IMMENSE JOY and SHEER PRIVILEGE of performing it for others is beyond explanation!! It is a rich blessing indeed!!
He was, no he still Is wonderful 😍😍❤️
If you want to see true intensity in his eyes, watch Vesti la Giubba (with english subtitles) - I believe he is actually crying.
The final lyrics...Vincero....Vincero.......means I Will Win, I Will Win. Amazing.
I adore this song. He is amazing
I love you guys and your expressive faces.
That's the main feeling to everyone who listen to this. He's not there anymore for a couple minutes. He had too breed afterwards opening his mouth ☯️✌peace
My dad played Pavoritti constantly while I was growing up (and Janis Joplin haha)
Your dad knew his classics, I hope you enjoy them too. :)
@@evertjan9479 Hahaha... yes he did, and I do also. I must give credit to my 2 older sisters who brought Janis into our home, along with the best music of the day. My parents had a wide range of musical tastes and I’m forever grateful that both of my parents shared their love of good music with us kids. My dad also took me and a friend to hear Janis perform for free in Golden Gate Park. So fun!
It’s not a song, is called “aria”, a small part of the Turandot, a opera composed by Giacomo Puccini, Italian. ( 1857-1924)
Harri, the football music for the champions league intro is called ZARDOK THE PRIEST and my team RANGERS will be hearing it in the new season. I'm sitting in Glasgow wiping the tears from my face as this gets me every time and I have been a heavy rocker for 55 years. NESSUN DORMA ROCKS.
Pavarotti really enjoyed singing this song. It is HIS song.
Always brings me to tears.
Love the standing ovation at the end!
This aria was composed by Giacomo Puccini. It is from his opera, Turandot,
I fell in love with him when I first heard him at aged 18. Dmitri Hvorostovsky was a wonderful operatic baritone very popular worldwide and also named to People magazine's 50 most beautiful people. He had an untimely death at aged 50 from cancer. You should react to him.
Absolutely out of this world 🌎🌍.
He's staring into the face of God!
I never had the chance to see Pavarotti perform, but I was lucky enough to see Andrea Bocelli at a concert in Texas a while back. I was up in a really high (cheap) seat and I felt like I'd still hear him clearly if they cut the mike.
Seeing an opera singer live really helps you appreciate the power and projection in their voices. I wish I could have heard Pavarotti sing this live, it's one of my favourite opera songs.
Goosebumps every time!! Love this song VINCERO VINCERO VINCERO
I WILL BE VICTORIOUS - I WILL CONQUER - I WILL WIN 😩😩😩 Pavarotti performed with Brian May singing TOO MUCH LOVE WILL KILL YOU.
Check it out live in Italy, I believe! 🎶❤️🎶❤️🎶
The high C is THE thing to achieve Harri and he mastered it time after time !!! Pavarotti's trademark 🙏. Greatly missed but his legacy lives forever 🎶❤
His "La Fille Du Regiment" aria does it for me. Truly powerful, agreed. @HarriBest . ruclips.net/video/ASXYB_TQjpc/видео.html .
Nessun Dorma goes only to B. Piece of cake. 😎
@@ralphficker167 I wanna hear that B from you 😉
@@arcillasteehouwer48 I'm a baritone these days, so that's my easy excuse. But even when I was singing as a tenor, there was no way. 🤥
@@ralphficker167 Very interesting! I appreciate your answer. I was just joking. Hope you obtain a great carreer 🙏😊
Yes as you have already been told, this was the theme music for the football world cup in Italia 90 The best song from the Paris concert was his rendition of CARUSO. But thank you for reacting to such vocal perfection
It doesnt get any better than this 👏🏻❤️
I just love how he trys to explain what he heard and feeld .
He was absolutely the best. We may never see another like him.
VINCERO! - I AM GOING TO WIN!!!! What a great bind for all of us! Dramatic, genuine, nonracist music!!!
Now we know how the Romans conquered the world - they sang their way through! So beautifully powerful!
Loved it when you clapped 👍🏽 👏🏽 😊
You have GREAT Taste!!! 50 years i been listening to him!!! i was 3 when i asked my mom to play the man for me mommy. In his movie he holds the last note 18 seconds!!!
The fact that you hear it at football matches could be due to the Nessun Dorma finale. Nessun Dorma "Nobody sleeps! Nobody sleeps! Not even you, oh princess, in your cold room. Look at the stars that tremble. With love and hope." And in the final: "With the twilight I'll win! I'll win! I'll win!"
BRAVO!!!!!!
He was one of the Three Tenors who gave a concert for the Worls Cup in the 90s Harri so a three Tenors one would be great
The Three Tenors (Pavorotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras) gave a concert in Rome on the eve of the 1990 World Cup Final where Nessun Dorma was the finale. It became a legendary aria, not only for Luciano, but for the football world, at-large.
I've seen multiple performances of him singing this aria, and every time at the end he looks like he just saw God.
Thank you sir for doing this. As a kid I watched the original "Three Tenors" broadcast on PBS in the year 1990. It was Carreras, Domingo and Pavarotti. It was kind of a battle of arias from the three. This song was the capstone piece done at the end of the solos by Pavarotti. This song sealed his dominance for the night. However, I must say that Placido Domingo gave Pavarotti a run for his money! I am STUNNED that no one has reacted to his ending piece from that night in Rome on RUclips!!!! Paris, I believe, was 6 years later. Nessun Dorma was the greatest in Rome, then in Paris. They did one in New York, but I don't recall its greatest. Anyway, please react to Placido Domingo's work. He's great too!!!!
@Richard Peddie I am glad you can try to make that argument, but the power and dynamics of Pavarotti outdueled Domingo in all three major clashes in Rome 1990, Paris 1994 and Los Angeles later. Domingo had never been able to get out of Pavarotti's shadow. But, having said that he did perform more Operas and this more arias. His technique was flawed. He couldn't get his tongue out of the way. It interfered with his power and a little of his tone.
Best Ever!!♥️🎙
England nessun dorma. meaning ..... none shall deep and hope ..love this song
Your reverence and appreciation of the music momics mine. Maybe that is why I love you wo much!
Harry you gave the best description of experiencing Pavarottti’s renditions for Nessus Dorma…. It is indeed breathtaking; as if an out of body experience!! You called it, bravo! 😊 🥰
my man pavarotti is unique the best voice ever understand this he is a super hero, he die singing with a god
The greatest instrument, the human voice. Most pop/rock/rap/folk singers never get out of grade school with their singing, choose to speak.
It is from an opera, so, yes, lyrics.
By far one of my favorite reactions to Pavs Nessum Dorma !! Well done and described Harry. If you want to see some raw emotion from Pavarotti , check out his version of the aria called Caruso. Again , terrific reaction. 👍👌
"Nessum Dorma" means "none shall sleep" and the last line "Vincero" means "I shall conquer/win"
It's not a song, it's an aria from Puccini's opera Turandot. The last sentence is "I will win!"
I love opera ❤
He almost looks in pain, as if the climax takes something out of him.
...CAROSO by Pavarotti...👍 Merry Christmas… 👍
And the Angels wept!
*Harri* Isn't this AMAZING.!!!!! THIS is one I wish I introduced you too sir.!!! One of those guys whom an outsider is *CERTAIN* this person is doing EXACTLY what they were put in this earth for..... NICE.! David .....
Fenomenal!
Vincero for victory!
Magia italiana!
Listen to (and watch) Pavarotti's live collaboration with Tracy Chapman on her beautiful song "Baby Can I Hold You."
World Cup 1990. Try The Three Tenors, Kimmy Skota singing Ave Maria
Nessun Dorma was the theme tune to Italia 90, The World Cup held in Italy in 1990. It is nothing to do with the Champions League.
Spot on this is from Italia 90 nothing to do with the champions league
Andrea Bocelli disagrees..
Luciano Pavarotti orgoglio italiano
To me, this is his best performance of nessun dorma. I've watched a lit of his performance and I really love them all but this to me is his best. I love him so much, he is a blessing.
You, are a lovely man.
Really enjoy your reactions. Keep up the great work.
I love your videos because you are so open minded and respectful of every artist.
I love this guy! Hi Harri
Nessum Dorma/None shall sleep..Enchanting
At one time Pavarotti wasn’t just an singer of opera, he also performed and I read that he played the part of Prince Calaf although rarely. He also performed it for the 1990 World Cup. Transported into the role of Prince Calaf and then back to earth again! He is noted to be the “king of the High C.” Apparently this particular note, for a tenor is difficult to reach. His musical bio is quite impressive. His personal? Depends!! That last note he hits is the longest I’ve ever heard him hold it.
Hes. Greatness when you him you hear the best
It’s truly transcendent when Pavarotti sings this piece.
Excellent reaction and comments
Great reaction Harri.
When this common emotion we are become again human brothers, sisters
Other worldly.
It’s the colour and timber of his voice: dear God will there ever be someone like him, or better?
