The "story being disconnected from gameplay" part is really only part of Far Cry 5
In FC 3 and 4 the story is very much connected to the missions

Why did they keep health bars for enemies. Something about it just seems so off for a game like far cry. Eyesore
That's a dealbreaker for me. Visible health bars in FPS games are there to help the player deal with bullet spongyness

Exactly. I was hoping they could have a mix of the two. Like the spongy tanks from 4&5 were a little annoying, but it could've been remedied with the new mechanic of specific ammo. Making EVERY enemy armor/ammo based is out of place for Far Cry and limits playstyle and player choice.
Better than another boring point-and-click shooter.
This looks like a reskinned Far Cry 5 with some extra features. I'm skeptical.

I was really hoping FC 6 would go the route of realism. New stealth mechanics & weapons that do actual damage. This game looks so ridiculous to me. Reminds of the fast & furious movies. More explosions doesn’t make it more fun.

Yeah, I really miss my gameplay being interrupted every 10 minutes because of fucking malaria, checkpoints respawning the second you go farther than 50 meters from them and guns jamming after you put 2 mags through them. /s
Why does it seem the farcry developers have a mission to put the charging handles of some guns on the wrong side? It looks so goofy.

Far Cry is becoming alot like saints row where I enjoyed the simplicity but just became wild. The "spin offs" like New dawn and Blood dragon are more where they should add the goofy shit
So an armor piercing sniper round cannot 1-shot headshot an unarmored enemy?

Never played Farcry but this video really made me want to get into it. Mainly looking for the co-op experience though since I play with my friend most of the time
if this seems fun, try fc 4,5 and new dawn, co-op fun

Kinda bummed about the damage and gun mechanics. Based on your game play and what you said, it seems headshots and guns in general aren't too realistic or at least very different from past FC games which is the only thing I dislike. I loved being able to take out a whole compound with a suppressed sniper in FC 4 & 5. I loved being able to switch up my playstyle and go guns blazing, silent assassin, or long range sniper. Waiting to see more tho, maybe I'm wrong and don't understand it yet, but I hope I can still keep those playstyles alive in 6.

So what Mat is saying, is that hopefully far cry 6 has the settings options like breakpoint where we can essentially make the game more realistic/hardcore. Would be awesome to have such choices.

Why is the main character shooting Katyusha? This must be "Once upon a time in Soviet Union" but in Far Cry version.
so in new dawn enemies have had levels from 1-4(already very stupid) ,now you need to change ammo type to be able to kill a specific enemy quicker?
Still obnoxious for sure but at least better than new dawn I feel. At least this doesn't encourage a grindy gameplay loop

Can’t wait. Got my digital ultimate edition pre ordered and the ultimate edition off the Ubisoft site. Yesterday confirmed everything for me. This one is definitely a love letter to the far cry series as a whole and it looks like a ton of fun.
Looks okay. And Giancarlo Esposito is probably going to carry on the franchise legacy of making the villain the most outstanding part of the narrative.

Seriously, Ubisoft shouldn’t get away with this stuff, and we should make this heard by voting with our wallets, and refusing to buy their games, nor their dlc. You may enjoy the vid, but don’t give into the hype for the games they showcase, and encourage others to do the same. Maybe even encourage content creators you know to pass up on any sponsorship offers Ubisoft makes. Spread the word, kill the hype, start the boycott. #ScrewUbisoft
