Big decision to make for sure but I think both are gonna be great handhelds either way. I'll get my RP4 Pro today so I'm excited to see what it's capable of.
I've also been thinking of getting the skull&Co dock as well since the original Odin2 dock would be too expensive with shipping... Looks like a great alternative! Thanks for the video!
I wouldn't recommend the Odin 2 Max since 16gb of RAM is completely overkill. Go for the pro model and save yourself some money. Having those two devices is a nice combo though!
My RP4 Pro is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I'm hoping to have a few videos up on it in the coming week. Retroid seems to be on track with this release, so yours should hopefully arrive sooner rather than later as well.
Yep. I talked about it in the dock section on the RP4 Pro review. Both work but the one fits the 4 pro better with less of a gap: ruclips.net/video/VKX3Q-qqnto/видео.htmlsi=pbB425nSclc2pGLZ
The ayaneo don’t seem to be available anymore, can’t find it in Amazon neither. I’m looking for a high quality alternative to dock my Odin 2 pro. I initially ordered the Odin 2 pro dock, but it lacks for the extra usb-c ports I need in order to charge+sync my pair of bitdo 2.4g controllers to the O2P; my concerns comes to the dock compability, since I’ve seen videos were the docks aren’t fully compatible with the the Odin 2 Pro video output, taking it longer, lags, etc. Hope you can please enlighten me with some advices. Thanks!
Easiest option is ps4/xbox360. Any ps4/xbox360 compatible controller should work. If you have one laying around connect it via Bluetooth and have fun BUT when playing on TV the “controller type” reverses. So if you had PS style X button to confirm in handheld it will become “O” to confirm on the TV and you must manually change it in Odin Settings. You’ll also have to map all your emulator inputs a second time for the new controller. And some emulators have actions that are touch screen only and difficult or impossible to map to a wireless controller. It’s really meant to be a handheld more than a switch style do everything console. Super sweet nevertheless. Been playing near non stop since Christmas. Ps2 and GameCube have been flawless.
do either of these work with the AYN tpu case? my Odin is a never-nude, in that I never take the case off, but I still want some kind of dock for console moding. great video!
The docks all have the same design flaw. You have to design a dock that aligns the console exactly to where the usb nub is, otherwise you will scratch it to hell.
My secondary market switch power supply (that works with my switch dock) doesn't seem to give enough power to my Skull&Co jumpgate. What do you recommend for power?
@@KeiRetroGaming thats what I was afraid of... welp, at least it will be nice to have ethernet going that route.. I might have to 3d model one and make it so you can just house a "normal hub" inside like the skull one, or cough up the $80 lol - thanks for the reply !
I personally wouldn't trust anything for a switch when it comes to charging unless it was built by Nintendo. 3rd party chargers/docks can brick a switch.
I bought the Skull and Co dock for my switch two years ago. The manufacturing quality is pathetic, the plastics squeak and the console is not stabilized. Very bad option.
No, the Loki would be upside down on the dock since it only has a USB port up top. The dock itself is very narrow so there's not enough room for the Loki.
I've owned a jumpgate for years and had no idea that you could raise the USB, thanks! Now I just have to decide between the Odin 2 and RP4 Pro...

I have the support dock from Ayn. Doesn't work at all with 2.4ghz controllers. Getting the Skull&Co dock instead.
Making ideas for getting the Ayn Odin 2 Max and Ayn Loki Max for these kinds of docks would be awesome to game at home and on the go. Great work.

Will the odin dock work with the rp4 pro??
Nevermind you answered my question at the end
Waiting for your Retroid Pocket 4 Pro test video with the docks. And maybe the full review. Mine won't get here until a long time.

Would be great if you can review some wireless controller option for the Odin 2 🙏

That ayaneo price... Ouch. For that you might as well get the ayn. I have the jump gate coming end of the week.

I have ligma
Is it possible to use Xbox one s controllers on the Odin 2 while using the skull and co base dock? And does it also work wireless?
My secondary market switch power supply (that works with my switch dock) doesn't seem to give enough power to my Skull&Co jumpgate. What do you recommend for power?
Any decent 65w charger or faster should work fine. I wouldn't recommend using a switch charger on anything other than the switch.
Did the 2.4Ghz controller issue ever been fixed by Ayn?
No I still think it has issues. Sometimes it works but it really depends on the controller. Bluetooth is easiest.
does the Loki Max fit in the skullnco dock? really need to find a good dock for mine.
Nope it only fits on the Ayaneo dock shown in the video. Haven't found any other alternatives.

For what it's worth I don't regret spending the $80. I've used it on many handhelds and it's built very well as I mentioned in the video.
i have the rgb one coming RGB Docking Station

does the AYANEO work with the SWITCH OLED ??

I like my skull&co dock its pretty great
It's a great dock for sure! Did you grab the basic one or the pro model?
@@KeiRetroGaming basic. It's my main switch dock
@KeiRetroGaming ayn loki its compatible with skull dock?

thanks im searching a dock for a loki but its complicated find one@@KeiRetroGaming
Has anyone tried the Gilki Covert Dock 2 with their Odin 2?
Does it work with the rp4 pro? Thanks in advance
Yes it does
I cant get it .... You link dock to TV/Monitor with a HDMI 2.0 .... but in option we have seen DisplayPort over Type C ? WTF ?
Can you play local multiplayer with the dock.
If the game or emulator supports it, yeah.
Do either work on the odin 1 ?
They should but I don't have the Odin 1 anymore to test it.
