About 7 months ago I picked up an Anbernic RG556. I was so blown away by playing PS2 games on a hand held for the first time that I just upgraded again to the Odin 2 Pro Rainbow variant. It arrived three days ago. So far I have it set up with all of my GooglePlay games as well as a custom SD card filled with 480 of my all time favorite PS2 games. That alone is still so much, and so much fun to play. I'll be enjoying my Odin 2 Pro for years to come. Wow do I completely love this thing in every way. The performance, controls, screen, sound, ergos, size, fully customizable LED lights, everything about it is drop dead awesome. It's such a genuine thrill to play. And wow does the Rainbow variant look so clean in person.
How is the screen compared to RG556 tho ? Wouldn't it be a significant downgradein that department ? That's the only thing that keeps me from buying the Odin 2 tbh. It looks to be pretty much perfect aside from its screen
@@EliHank The Odin 2's 6" IPS screen is drop dead gorgeous. No it's not OLED, but it nonetheless looks so damn awesome. Doesn't look like a downgrade whatsoever. I love this thing, it's so good. Plus I have the Viture XR Pro OLED glasses that I use with the Odin 2 Pro as well. But if the OLED screen is a must have for you the all new Odin 2 Portal has a 7" OLED screen with no bezels.
@@SirPendrake steam deck is hardly a handheld, it's so big and heavy that you don't really feel comfortable taking it with you everywhere, and I say that as a steam deck owner. The odin 2 though is like 2/3 the size and weight of the steam deck, so it's a lot better to carry around. All that said, the steam deck is indeed a lot more powerfull and can do a lot more than the odin 2.
@@SirPendrakeif you have Geforce Now, then the graphic you got is way better than steam deck local. Steam deck ca stream too, but odin2 wife double its speed under same environment.
I got the odin 2 mini pro the mini led display isnt far off oled in terms of colors etc and literally 25 percent brightness is all thats needed it is a wild device man can cook on codm with it too whatever horizontal sens and 50 vertical sense major headshots 💯.
The Odin 2 is going to be the last handheld I purchase until the Switch 2 comes out. I realized my hand held addiction was out of control when I forgot that I had six different handhelds currently being delivered in the span of two weeks.
@@jbruh6246 Leaks put at around PS4 level in handheld mode and between the PS4 Pro and the Xbox Series S in docked mode with 12gb ram. Sounds like it can do a lot more than the Odin 2.
Don't say that SOME Switch games run on the Odin. I did the same that you did, first I bought the RG353V and in two months i got the Odin. I installed a bunch of emulators to play several systems and in the end my Odin 2 just became a Switch because I basically don't play anything else on it. So much that I'm thinking about buying a RG406V or RG406H to play all other systems and use the Odin 2 has a Switch. And up to now, only 3 games didn't run, and it was because of the emulators limitations. Better yet, the only limitations that I found on the Odin are from the emulators. this machine runs EVERYTHING... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...
i wanted to get the first odin back in the day - but then the steamdeck came out... and well XD emudeck is just for me the best emulation software ever made tho this might be the best lightweight emulation machine that runs on android
thankfully they're basically the exact same thing. The only major differences is the screen and form factor. Every guide I've tried for the Odin 2 worked pretty much seamlessly with the Mini and any game I've seen working on the Odin 2 works the exact same way on the Mini.
Great video !Just FYI NOT ALL GOOGLE PLAY STORE GAMES PLAY UNFORTUNATELY. Ayn needs google certification on some games. Path of titans ,my favorite game ,won’t play because of a “root error”. It thinks my Odin 2 pro is rooted. No one really addresses this issue in Odin 2 reviews. Likely due to the fact that so many games play.
Can you please tell me what the song playing in the first 7 seconds is, I know its from SOME sonic game, but I just cant point my finger on which one, i am going insane.
Hey great video! That 3DS/Switch section made me chuckle. Glad you are enjoying the Odin 2, it's awesome!

this is the best review for the odin 2, letting me know that the base model is enough to emulate, tysm

Not the retroid pocket 4 but pls get the pocket 5 later and compare that to this!
