I am extremely happy with my Odin 2. A few things I initially had concerns with were the ergonomics because I often find handhelds too small and also the screen size. I was not sure if a 6" screen was quite enough for my liking. The ergonomics turned out to be great, I am very comfortable holding it and using either the joystick or d-pad. The 6 inch screen looks great and I find the aspect ratio great playing everything in full screen so the screen size is quite good if you are not obsessed with accurate aspect ratios for every system.. Playing every game in 3x resolution for PS2 is wonderful. The battery life is exceptional as well. I will say that probably my perfect handheld would be this type of device with a 7" screen so that might be the only thing down the road that could grab my interest. Other than that I expect to be extremely happy playing my Odin 2 until possibly the Odin 3 comes out. I typically do not game during the weekdays but I find myself picking this up in the evening and playing it daily.
My Odin 2 Pro Rainbow variant arrived about 5 days ago. I've never played such a perfect and powerful hand held. ETA thank you for what you do. I've been in the market for one of this for a little bit but, ever since the specs of the AYA Neos Pocket S was out I've been on the fence about the Odin 2. I'd like to know how the performance will be affected when it comes to the different SKUs. Will the Base model have slower performance on more advanced tasks, i.e. Switch emulation?
The only difference between models is RAM and Storage. The Base model has 8 GB, which is enough to run almost everything at identical performance. If you want to run Yuzu then that's where you need the pro model's upgraded 16 GB RAM, because Yuzu is pretty much the only emulator that actually uses that much RAM.
Hmm, this would be a good indication of what we can expect from Nintendo's new Switch 2 performance wise. AYN has to have a higher profit margin because they sell less consoles overall than Nintendo does. And Switch 2 will likely have a custom SoC, which will be a more GPU emphasized SoC. If AYN can make profit off of 300 dollar device with this level of performance, I am hopeful for the Switch 2.

ETA PRIME, will the base work fine for GameCube and Wii games or is there improved performance on the Pro or Max? I mainly want to use this for emulation. Hope you can respond, I don't want to have to spend more than I have to for what I want to use it for.

My only concerns with this device is warranty, support and reliability which is all questionable yes?!?! I also think pricing is high at $369 for Pro. Unless I am out of touch pricing wise for something like this.
With the caveat that I don't own one and am just parroting what I've seen other reviewers demonstrate; the Base Odin 2 is more than good enough for GameCube. The only system that requires the extra RAM of the Pro and Max models is Switch. If you're going to stick with 6th gen and earlier console emulation then get the Base model and save a few bucks, IMO.
Because they have the same CPU n GPU as he said in the beginning. Only difference is the storage n ram. Performance is damn near the same across all Odin 2 midels
One thing I didn't hear you mention in comparing the 8 Gen 2 versus the 8 Gen 3, is that the 8 gen 3 is significantly more power efficient. That s24 ultra seems nice but also crazy expensive to me
At the end you stated good price for 240$ with mSD card. Obviously you meant $340. Also dissapointed you put this up against the Gen3 but didnt talk much about how Gen3 devices currently have poorer battery performance, and overheat right now. You did mention it in passing, but its a bigger deal as this is currently the most powerful Android emulation handheld on the market currently. Comparing it to a phone is apples and oranges for what your getting.
showing swich emualtion on the device isn't really your cup of tea, is it🙂Might be better if you follow the whole yuzu controversy. I own an Odin 2 pro but I don't think the device for its price does make sense if you are not interested in switch emulation, for everything else it is basically overpowered.
I have to wonder why your videos tend to have such abrupt cuts between segments, going from the snowboarding on Gamecube to suddenly Sly on PS2 mid sentence is jarring to say the least.

Love your videos! Thanks, do you know at what temperature the gen2 will start to throttle? Sometimes with yuzu temps go up to 75-80c is that safe?
yes, that's perfectly safe. they're usually rated to go up to 100+ degrees C. as long as the fan is spinning, you're fine
Great equipment! Beautiful color, my modded gba sp is almost similar. It makes your heart feel warm. :)However, way out of my budget. I'm thinking about buying anbernic rg556 or pocket 4 retrodiodes (not pro). What will be a better solution?
This guy just doesn't realize but the Ayn Odin 2 Pro Is The True endgame andriod handheld that 12 GB ram is gonna B needed when emulation finally matures
Sure a steam deck may be good and has better value but can you really bring it all the time even with out a bag the size of a laptop? Can it get 5-15 hours of battery life while gaming?
It supports Vulkan ray tracing. Would you mind running the 3D Mark Solar Bay ray tracing benchmark for Android? That would be super interesting.
What SD card speeds can the Odin 2 take advantage of. What do you recommend
Should have included 3d mark stress test between the two
ETA PRIME, will the base work fine for GameCube and Wii games or is there improved performance on the Pro or Max? I mainly want to use this for emulation. Hope you can respond, I don't want to have to spend more than I have to for what I want to use it for.
I got the pro and am in loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I am really torn between getting the Odin 2 pro or the Z1 ROG ally that is now $400. Any opinions would be appreciated.
I have both the Z1 Extreme ROG Ally and Odin 2 Max and I use the Odin 2 every day, unlike the Ally. Great handheld
They aren't comparable. The odin 2 can't play pc games. If you play pc games get rog ally.
@@justswitched8841but odin 2 have gamepass can play all xbox games on gamepass
@@justswitched8841 If you're buying a handheld of this caliber you probably already have a gaming PC that you can stream games from via moonlight. Otherwise why even have a steam account.
Please do a oneplus pad emulation video😮
The pro is just as good! It would probably play ps3 if it had an android emulator
Just ordered my Pro for XSX remote play. I have the Portal for my PS5. I hope it’s worth it. I have the G Cloud and deciding between the two which to keep. My only concerns with this device is warranty, support and reliability which is all questionable yes?!?! I also think pricing is high at $369 for Pro. Unless I am out of touch pricing wise for something like this.
Hello, i' m hestitating between the pro or the max any advices please ? Want to play game cube games.
@@mattdavis9601 Thank you.
Why not compare to the base?
Because they have the same CPU n GPU as he said in the beginning. Only difference is the storage n ram. Performance is damn near the same across all Odin 2 midels
can you disable the joystick LED's?
of course u can
Where is that last live wallpaper from?
Any info if they intend to support the ODIN with security and OS updates?
Can you please share your live wallpaper??
Hey. Did you find a solution for this live wallpapers ? Was wondering how/where to get a good ones.
What does it mean now for devices like the Odin now that Yuzu and Citra and other emulators have been shutdown?
Eh? its only the development. The emulators still exist. It will only never get updated now.
One thing I didn't hear you mention in comparing the 8 Gen 2 versus the 8 Gen 3, is that the 8 gen 3 is significantly more power efficient. That s24 ultra seems nice but also crazy expensive to me
The 8 gen 2 is actually more efficient, the main difference is the 8 gen 3 has a much better GPU.
@@nicknorthcutt7680 based on what
This might be the move. I want something that can play all of PS2 with a good battery life.
Would you choose Poco F6 with a telescopic controller or Odin 2?
Still hesitate betwin Odin 2 pro and Ayaneo pocket s in april 2024
Gearing up for a showdown now.
Is the max worth the extra money over the Odin 2 base model?
Playing with yuzu you can get it up to high 70s celsius, but that doesn't happen all the time and with yuzu, it's almost expected
Even the 845 version is still very good at $249
At the end you stated good price for 240$ with mSD card.
I would buy in an instant an ODIN 3 with SD g3 and larger screen 7/8inch.
See ya in 2/ 3 years
What Game is that in the beginning?
At least he was clear it’s only one of the best. 😂
it could still be the best.
it's priced very well, and it has more than enough power for everything.
any thing more than that is not essential.
Update bug has been fixed. Don't need to flash the firmware anymore.
can you do a windows 11 installation on the odin 2?
Where can i buy it? Pls and best price
What portable monitor was that?
This has smoked the pocket s 🤣
I will never forgive Hoyoverse for locking out controller use on Android, especially since controller use in Android is very good.
new odin 2 review im up
Hi, what do you say about iPhone emulation? It is very interesting to see how the iPhone emulates: PPSSPP, AetherSX2 and DolphinIOS
❤
Does it support remote play ps5?
Yes, every Android device does with the remote play app
Can anyone tell me if the Odin will play ps2 well on the base model? Or do I really need to get the pro or Max to get the best performance?
@@richosull it plays perfect on the base! The ayn odin 2 is over powered to play ps2,gamecube
showing swich emualtion on the device isn't really your cup of tea, is it🙂Might be better if you follow the whole yuzu controversy. I own an Odin 2 pro but I don't think the device for its price does make sense if you are not interested in switch emulation, for everything else it is basically overpowered.
Whats that controler name used with S24?
Looks like a Gamesir G8
Will a phone with sd 8 gen 2 perform same with odin 2?
they need to make one with a 7 or 8 inch screen,.
Will It Play On The TV And How?
I have to wonder why your videos tend to have such abrupt cuts between segments, going from the snowboarding on Gamecube to suddenly Sly on PS2 mid sentence is jarring to say the least.
The reason why I am getting the odin 2 max because to replace my J7 prime. (idc a about the camera I just want performance)
