Dark Souls 2 Aldia Boss Battle. Игры
I love how he talks about the 3 dlc kings at the start.
Holy shit
Prince Tiger Technically the Iron king isn’t dlc, as we kill him in the main story
Does this interaction only take place if you beat the dlc bosses?
@@hazeination You have to beat all the main bosses and king vendrick, no dlc necessary
@@eebwabgaming9894 and speak with him every place he appears in
Aldia was a magnificent addition to the game, and the Dark Souls series as a whole. Definitely among the most well written and interesting characters.
this ending is so much better too
walking away and not fooking killing yourself feels great
@0ddMonk3y the brother of king vendrick
@0ddMonk3y Aldia is someone who tried to understand the essence of the soul. He conducted experiments in his keep to try and find a new meaning to existence. In his current form, he has been bonded to the First Flame itself. His efforts in the game are in pursuit of a world that is broken free from the cycles of Fire and the undeath that comes when the Age of Fire weakens and someone inevitably tries to restore the Fire/unsuccessfully ties to keep others from doing so. In this scene, Aldia asks the Bearer of the Curse to consider if they truly want to be either of the two; asking them if they'd rather explore their newfound true immortality in pursuit of something new.
Yeah, it's a shame he isn't in Dark Souls 3, that I know of at least.
@@WuTugu999 he's not but the cycle of fire just going and going you see the effects in ds3 all the lands merging and being destroyed when you get to the kiln at the end of the base game everything's ash burnt destroyed by century's of this age of fire
"You, conqueror of adversities." This is my favorite line from ds2, and one of my favorites in the whole series.
It was cringey at best. Most of the written dialogue in this game is b roll level.
It's nothing to write home about
*A LIE WILL REMAIN A LIE.*
@@Some-person-dot-dot-dot
Oh no! Someone had an opinion! Thank goodness this person did the right thing and told them how wrong they are for daring to think.
Some person dot dot dot "It sounds cool therefore it must be cringe" fuck off it's thematically fitting
You know no matter if you win or lose the fight, Aldia always comes out ahead.
*Ba-dum tssh*
shitty joke aside, it's kinda true cause aldia kinda just checks if you're worthy of the throne after killing vendrick, and then he just goes back to watching whatever happens
@@tuyoufpazic5746 screw you that was great
why i never saw her and completed the game ?
@@matthieumartelct you need to play the Scholar of the first sin, complete all three DLC’s and get the kings blessing from vendrick.
having a badass entrance even without a cutscene.
There exists an unused yet incomplete cutscene of his intro. I personally like the cutscene less intro more.
People tend to think that cinematic are better but, this is a game we are playing not a movie, anything done through gameplay should feel more immersive, rewarding and meaningful (the limitationsof the past made us grew used to it),
Dark souls 2 with all its flaws succeeded in various occasions like Aldia's appearance and the ivory king entrance, no cinematic just gameplay and that's what makes it special IMO
Ivory King: Allow me to introduce myself
@@matheuscruz8574 a lot of bosses actually, Sinh rising from the pile of rocks, Fume Knight getting out of the ground with the smoke, Sir Alonne with that arena...
That award goes to the Burnt Ivory King
Aldia as a boss is not so hard, i didn't had to struggle too mutch to defeat him, after i knew his lore i can say he is one of the best characters in the game
@Infected Ghost No, Aldia is the brother of King Vendrick.
Still harder than Nashandra. But yeah, Throne Watcher & Defender are ironically harder than the 2 end bosses. At least the DLC bosses made up for this.
@@messy8424 but thats just a theory bro
@@dragonslayerornstein2361 it literally says in the game that Aldia was Vendrick’s brother and the former duke of Drangleic
Hearing “There is no path” is just so oddly comforting to me. It makes you feel that it’s okay for you to do your own thing, struggle, not succeed, but try it nonetheless. That the path you choose is not wrong, just different, and it’s okay.
I Dont Know if im being Emotional to the Music Or not. it feels more of tragedy
Music can be a manipulative thing. Try slapping Aldia's boss theme to the silliest boss fight you can think of and let your emotions twist like a pretzel. I like to play it during the Fatman boss fight in MGS2.
@@robertsides3626 Yeah,I feel like, for this music the team was like: "Hopelessness, but in sound". And I find it spot-on.
Musician/private instructor here. Music is written to bring out certain emotions from us. It’s not a coincidence you feel what it’s bringing out of you.
@@isscegonzalez9988 what is the song/osts name? Pls
Normally I'm excited when fighting a boss or the final one at that but.. To hear aldias theme for the first time really makes me sad and alone, that's the best feeling to have in dark souls, as you become.. Yourself
Are you implying that dark souls players are sad and alone? I don't necessarily disagree though.
You guys obviously got something from this fight I didn't
@@confusedknight7407 😂😂
Just like Lord Gwyn's theme.
The reason why he doesn't drop souls is because you don't actually kill him, hence why you can hear him speak straight after, he was just testing you for worthiness.
Yeah, he can't really be killed. I doubt we'll ever find out how Aldia escaped the cycle, but if you ask me I think he became something akin to a god himself
You, conqueror of adversities
I hear that line and nod my head every time. I would never go through such a hard game before but now I will. Dark souls changed me- A Conqueror of Adversities. In games and in life.
Give Us your answer?
I lost everything, but remained here, patiently.
The throne will certainly receive you.
But a question remains; what do you want, truly?
Light? Dark? Or something else entirely...
succumbs to flame, drowned in poison, sleeping in ice realm? Does Aldia talks about the 3 DLC kingdoms?
Yep, The Sunken King who drowned in poison, The Old Iron King who succumbed to the flame and The Ivory King who slumbers in the realm of ice.
@@panzerofthelake3437 I thought he meant the rotten because you have to go through black gulch to get to him which is a poisonous pit
hardest moment on this boss are the unskipable credits
Only during NG, or Journey 1. In New Game+ onwards, you can skip them afterwards.
But the credits song (longing) is worth it
If you think about it, Aldia asking if the player choosing light, dark or something different is basically the endings you can get in Dark Souls 3.
DS3 ending is pretty much the dark ending, DS2 ending refuses both light and dark and instead follows the desire of the protagonist to "cure" the curse and go on with life in search for answers.
I think From made Aldia like this primarily so they could tell us "See? That's what Bed of Chaos was *supposed* to be if we had the time to finish it.
Still a disappointment, because he isn't hard, but at least he isn't bullshit, as long as you keep away from the throne... (I fell down when fighting Watcher & Defender, yes)
But imagine this: This is Aldia simply peeking his head into our world, and still he can bombard us with powerful pyromancy and parts of his body, maybe shell, wreathed in a powerful aura of flame.
What would the immortal Scholar be like if he were to climb out?
I honestly feel like DkS3 wasted the opportunity to feature full-body Aldia in its DLCs as either a NPC to talk to (and be scared shitless of) or a secret super boss who upon defeat just gives a lecture, revealing that he still wasn't truly killed and just felt like exercising a bit.
@@joshuakim5240 "ahhh, good fun lad. see you in the next game, fucko"
I mean all of Dark Souls can be fairly easy once you learn to roll.
@@joshuakim5240 Yeah. It would’ve been cool to have fought him. He reminds me a lot of Void from Berserk.
Nah, he dead, you killed him.
Do I detect a hint of excitement when Aldia says "What could possibly await us?"
Probablye because that question was what him and his brother wanted to make possible, they now had a chance to change a writren fate and make a new way thanks to you.
What a beautiful boss fight. After finished scholar of the first sin for the fourth time, I can say that this boss was beautifully animated. Though not as difficult as most bosses in this game, Aldia's fight was more symbolic and I felt like I had more connections to Aldia than Nashandra's fight itself.

@@luislira5545 sinner.
The worst part of dark souls 2 is that some idiots genuinely believe dark souls 1 is better.
aldia genuinely elevated the game. he was such an interesting character to be confronted with.
Great boss fight made by the music and overall tone but it still sucks you have to fight 3 bosses in a row.
Nashandras the easiest boss in the game but true
Ritz Tan it's still a dark souls boss so we can't get lazy
All you have to do is bait her to shoot a laser and then whack at her.
Atleast when you got close to the covetous demon there was a chance he'd start flailing around and maybe hit you. Nashandra's so busy firing the damn laser than you can get 5-6 hits on her and then safely walk away to bait her into doing it again.

Dark souls 2 takes place after 3 so I'm pretty sure Gael is long dead by this point. Still it's an interesting thought for sure.

[*MERCENARIOS*] Mecha Ghost Said King might have the soul of Gwyn
No, that's the ivory king.
@@nexialist1998 No, he's the one who slumbers in ice. Iron king fell to fire
It is the former Iron King. I believe that what is written on the iron key for the DLC of the crown of the ancient iron king, is that after the king fell into the lava he found the Great Soul, Soul of Lord "Life", which is the soul of the Goddess Izalith, but only a fragment, because he became an iron demon after that and his creations with his legendary weapon found in the lands he explored was able to manipulate iron and he always created things related to fire, remember the Iron Flesh pyromancy? Well, pyromancy was born from the city of Witches, city of Izalith.
edit: He talks about Gwyn along with the furtive pigmy in another dialogue.
We shouldn't underestimate Aldia, I mean after we supposedly defeat him he just casually goes "Well good job, now go on with whatever you were doing." people often forget that the dude was literally just testing us
Actually, at that time, the Damned and Aldia were the two strongest creatures in the world. Two absolutely immortal beings, capable of overthrowing most gods that have ever existed.
Is there any other reason for Aldia to fight us as the end other than him testing us to see if the bearer of the curse is truly ready to make the decision to inherit or abandon the throne?
No, he just fights you to see if you are worthy of the throne and to ask you one last time his signature question: "What do you want, truly?"
Otherwise we wouldnt hear what it has to say
I like to imagine the Bearer of the Curse walking away while grumbling angrily cuz they didn't find a cure to the curse, if he didn't get Vendrick's crown already.

i know i saw this from another comment. but when aldia said this quote "Many monarchs have come and gone. One drowned in poison, another succumbed to flame. Still another slumbers in a realm of ice. Not one of them stood here, as you do now. You, conqueror of adversities. then try to remember the lord of dark soul 3. we fight the Abyss Watcher after the poison swamp then we fight Yhorm the giant in the temple of flame and aldrich at anor londor. and lastly the lothric princes which did not continue the way. its such a good character its so sad tht he not even involve in ds3 storyline.
I come back here every once in a while. I love this fight for the atmosphere and for the music, but something about the consecutive Murakumo hits just satisfy me.
Esto nos da a entender que Aldia consiguio la inmortalidad, por eso no suelta su alma.

The gameplay ended, you complete spaz. Go make your own fucking video.
And the gameplay sucks ass. It's almost as if he doesn't know you can run in this game.

jérôme lebourg Aldia wasn't trying to control the flame.
He was using knowledge to break himself out of the cycle.
I actually love the fact that we son't get any reward for defeating Aldia, other than alternate ending.
The music is beautiful
The Scholar of The First Sin is such a badass name
Lore and music are what made this boss fight
We all agree that "scholar of the first sin" may be the single rawest title ever, right?
no shut up
compared to the other bosses, the last two are like a walk in the park
One drowned in poison : Singh
Who succumbed to flame : Fume
Another slumber of ice : Ivory
One drowned in poison: the rotten sinh is a slumbering dragon
that song actually makes me wanna hardcore cry though
I hope they remake the game but not just update the graphics, sound, gameplay, and music but change some of the game so it is more enjoyable like the lore and add to enemies and bosses and even completely change some just to give the game another chance
Lore is very good in my opinion, secret and full of past stuff that's not even worth writing down, because in dark souls 2 you step into thousands of realms turned into 1.
Edit: scholar of the first sin already a remake more or less like this.
I think I've found one of my new favorite OSTs.
I swear his theme is the best in all series, it fits a lot to final fight just like Gwyn’s theme. Feeling that it’s finally end

Aldia isnt really a "villain"...he doesnt encourage you to reject the throne, the continuing of the cycle, nor does he discourage it. Or are we just gonna be another symbol in the seemingly endless timeline? Or are we going to be it's destructor, and bring an end to everything? Think about it
Aldia skill:heat seeking great fireball.the point is,the flame same as fume knight buff
I've beaten all from soft games multiple times, including bloodbourne and sekiro. Also beat alot of souls likes, nioh 1 and 2 for example. Yet somehow I always found this boss difficult. Am I alone in this? I died to this guy quite alot.
He is one the best characters in souls series so well written cool design the only character that ask what want to do (other than vendrick) with the first flame and i like to think that it was aldia that made the twin prince in ds3 not link the first flame
I cannot be the only one who had him spawn on top of me and just kill me instantly.
Well I just beat this boss and beat the game not even realizing that was the end
That treant does not look like a scholar.

You can have a break after Throne Watcher and Throne Defender if you have not yet obtained the Giant's Kinship yet. You can also use a homeward bone or Feather out.
That's weird people says Aldia and Nasandra are easy but out of all final bosses fromsoft games I played Nasandra and Aldia gave me most trouble. Gwyn, first try, Moon Presence got me one time because it suprised me with that special attack left you 1 HP, Gehrman killed me 2 times, Soul of Cinder first try, on the other hand DS2 was the last one I beat and Nasandra killed me 7 times and Aldia killed me 5 times.

What's the story behind aldia? Can someone explain please
Aldia is King Vendrick’s elder brother and an accomplished pseudo-scientist (Aldia’s Keep in the 2nd half looks like a laboratory). Whereas King Vendrick used souls of Giants to gain power, Aldia used souls of Giants to experiment on them & create what would then be known as the Ancient Dragon (a failed recreation of the Everlasting Dragons in Dark Souls 1). King Vendrick despised Aldia for his research on souls, and so decided to lock him away in his keep. At some point in time, he escapes and finds someone worthy of either taking Vendrick’s place or abandoning the throne (in this case, he’s looking for you, the Bearer of the Curse).
@@AlastorAltruistGaming actually they started out as partners to find a cure for the curse but then Aldia became crazy and lost his body to transform into the tree like creature he is now. Also Vendrick mostly hated him for trying to link the flame/throne if i'm not wrong, that's the first sin.
