    Bryan Furnace:
Today we're here to talk about a name that might not come to mind first. When you're thinking of compact equipment, it's KIOTI. If you haven't heard of them, you're not alone, but don't write them off because they're getting into the compact equipment market, and one of the things I like about their stuff is they have true pilot controls. Here to talk more about this is Justin from KIOTI.
Well, Justin, thank you so much for your time. Thanks for being on the show today. I appreciate it.
    Justin Moe:
Yeah, absolutely. Thanks for having me on the show. I'm really excited to be on and talk about KIOTI's new offerings.
    Bryan Furnace:
So you guys aren't one of the bigger names in the industry. In fact, I would venture to say most of my audience probably hasn't heard the KIOTI name. Could you give us just kind of a quick overview of who you guys are?
    Justin Moe:
Yeah, absolutely. KIOTI is the North America brand name of our parent company, Daedong. We've been around building our brand for 30 plus years now here in the US. And you're right, we're not as large as some of those bigger manufacturers, but we're expanding really quickly and we're really building out our dealer network. Traditionally, we've been pretty heavy in the East Coast here, but we're starting to expand out to the West Coast, Midwest, opening up new dealerships every year and it's been really exciting, especially with this new construction line of equipment we're coming out with as well.
We started out with tractors has been our specialty for a long time. The compact tractor sector, especially, going from that kind of residential garden tractor all the way up to, now, we have some larger scale utility tractors getting all the way up to that 115 horsepower going to the larger agriculture like some of those custom hay guys that you have.
Yeah. We've really been building our brand, building our name within the industry, especially in the tractor. Now we got UTVs, zero turns and like I said, the construction line as well with the skid steers and the compact track loaders.
    Bryan Furnace:
Got you. I do think it's important to let the audience know, while you guys are kind of new getting into the construction sector, you guys aren't strangers to the dirt. I mean one of your core business products is the compact tractor line and like you said, even getting into that 115 horse model, you've got some bigger dirt machines out there in the market currently.
    Justin Moe:
Correct. Correct. That was one of our big pushes for moving into the construction line is some landscapers use compact tractors within their normal operations, sometimes interchangeable with how they use a skid-steer. Maybe they put some sort of a plane or a grader off the back of the tractor to do fine grade on finishing some jobs. When we started looking in this construction sector as an opportunity for us, we found that our dealers and our customers were already really demanding it. They're like, "You guys have been building this great tractor for years." We have our own engines, we put in all our own units, so anything diesel that's KIOTI, it's our own engines we put into it. We've had these proven engines out there for years, which has been fantastic. Yeah. That was a big push for us to move into this track loader and skid-steer market was we already had that demand from our customers and our dealers, them knowing our product already within tractors.
    Bryan Furnace:
Interesting. What would you say, on the compact equipment side, what sets KIOTI apart from some of your competitors?
    Justin Moe:
That's a great question. For me, one thing that stands out...

Worked on kioti tractors from 05 to 15. I loved those things. They use to be simple basic. The castings were thicker and heavier that its competitors.

I have a couple Kioti tractors and love them. But the price is hard to swallow on a new to market machine when I can get a Takeuchi TL8 standard flow for $2k less & high flow for $2k more and Takeuchi has a very proven track record. Just not there yet on price for me

I’ve heard of Kioti. Actually went to a Kioti dealer about 10 years ago when I was looking at tractors. The dealer was an hole in the wall in the middle of nowhere and the dealer complained for about half an hour about how much the equipment broke down. 😂 I was blown away at how the dealer acted and walk away as fast as possible. The place was a long way from my house too. It was in another state even. It was a place called Sions Equipment in Moorefield West Virginia. My dad was alive at the time and he was in shock when we left the dealership. We didn’t even speak until we were about half hour away. I think we were quietly processing what had just happened. 😂 Drove a long way with a trailer and cash in had to basically have the dealer talk me out of buying one.

The funny part, besides the main story, was I was clear with the salesman that this tractor would see pretty light duty. Would have been used to plow snow on a 1/4 mile driveway and to mow about 3 acres worth of clear land about 5 times a year. Tractor would have had an easy life. Salesman even took us into his shop to show us all the broken stuff he had. I still dont understand what his deal was but he talked me out of even considering Kioti in any purchase. Maybe he was just having a bad day or something but that was a traumatizing experience to say the least.

That's crazy . These are built in Korea and only 5 to 10k less than kubota, bobcat, cat . Resale I am sure is terrible. Operated track and wheeled, wasn't impressed. Something from the stone age

That's awful. We've been a Kioti dealer for 20 years, and now we outsell every brand in our area. The dealer makes the product worth it, and it sounds like you were wise avoiding it

Seems like they just try to copy kubota. Close to same color and their tractor hood design was I think in a lawsuit with kubota. If you want to stand on your own don't try to look like the other guys.

Same as dollar store car's foreign came so has these simply the Hyundai of skidsteers, Meaning dumbed down in the wrong places like the super dumb super rigid undercarriage good luck on rough terrain keeping your false teeth in & drink in the cup and anything else that requires smoothness and definitely zero so-called gimmicky ride control here either vinyl seat will crack stupidly easily just nothing like the premium marked up machines these are the the super cheap type simply put,& the name is super obnoxious dollar store like & failed at calling it a wolf because the Chinese beat them to it with there dumbed down Chinese knockoff version.

Operated the track and wheeled, hydraulic controls are smooth, servicabilty is great, sides of cab to high cant see tracks or tires. Visibility is a big factor, definitely not a comfortable machine. I would rather spend another 7k and purchase kubota svl75-3. Bobcat t66 or cat 255 . Everything on this kioti is from the stone age. Should of built with one piece cab. Kioti is not something your going to operate all day long.

I disagree with almost all of your review. I have run bobcat ,JD, Cat, gehl, mustang and others and have to say the kioti holds its own very well. The track machine I run is very comfortable. I do run it all day long also with no complaints! As far as track viability all you have to do is lean to side to look out window to see tracks. Not hard unless you’re 5 ft tall or shorter. The serviceability of the machine is very well laid out. The only complaint I have is the back up camera video quality is a bit lacking. Overall I feel the layout and performance of the kioti will stack up very well to the 7-10k more machines out there. I can buy some nice attachments with that capital to get more stuff done. Just my opinion though.
