"That truck is so stupid!"
It's driving down the middle of the road after just passing a herd of cyclists... it had to be aiming for him 😅
I love the sisterly relationships in this movie, between Sally and Gillian, their aunts and Sally's daughters. I never had a sister myself, only a brother, so that dynamic was nice to see depicted on screen. Gillian dropped everything to be there for Sally in her time of need, psycho boyfriend be damned.
Even the women in town came to help Gilly even though they were scared of the Owens for years!! That’s true sisterhood
Nicole Kidman and Evan Rachel Wood look similar enough to be believable as aunt and niece, absolute perfect casting.
The reason the badge works is because the spell to bring Angelov back has a binding agent with the white star so white/silver stars kinda act as a kryptonite
OHHHHHH I thought it tied back to the conversation with Sally about how it’s his symbol and he believed in it. Or maybe it’s both 🤔
If you didn't catch them - Kylie (Sally's eldest daughter) is played by Evan Rachel Wood and young Sally is played by Camilla Belle. Crazy talented cast in every generation.
The super prevelant redhead gene is kinda funny, as Sally and her husband have dark hair and their first child has red hair 😅
I think it’s a movie that definitely needs rewatches over time to get used to it. Like it’s such an overwhelming movie at times with a lot of tone changes that it can be jarring for first times viewers. I know I didn’t like it when I first watched it but now I love it and it’s one of my fav movies. It’s just a fun time and the aesthetics of the movie are to die for!
This is one of the first and best movie to portrait the wiccan culture and craft. All older ones had witches that were either another race (like sabrina and etc) or just a villan at all.
I think the only other one that comes anywhere close is The Craft. But, like you, I think Practical Magic truly is the best at portraying Wiccan culture and craft in media - without fear mongering or making it too fantastical.
Sophia, have you seen Death Becomes Her? I watched it for the first time a week ago and I'm definitely watching it every autumn going forward. Can't go wrong with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn being hammy af!
I actually haven’t!! It’s on my watchlist though, I was just thinking that that would be a good autumn movie as well 😂
@@SophiaPhannnDeath Becomes Her is such an awesome Fall vibes movie! The musical is debuting on Broadway in a few weeks and I can't wait!
@@SophiaPhannnSabrina Carpenters “Taste” music video is even more entertaining if you see “Death Becomes Her”
Yes! Good suggestion 👌
First??? Literally ran to watch this!!!
I remember when I first watched this movie and I finished it not liking it. Then years of me rewatching it. I have falling in love with this movie. It’s definitely a movie that speaks to over time and through different life experiences. As other people have commented I really loved the sisterhood element of it. My favorite thing is the other women coming together being happy to participate in magic.
This is why when I recommend this movie to people I don’t tell them they’ll love it. Cause i sure didn’t, so I never know if other people will. But It is a movie should give a chance too
this movie is comedy gold actually cause why do they just switch from slice of life to abuse, death and exorcism like that while irish music is playing
All of your videos are great, but I always extra look forward to your October and February choices! 👍👍👍
Omg aw 🥹🫶🏼 they’re extra curated!
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
BRO I JUST UPLOADED THIS LOOOOOL
Not me nearly choking when mystic messager was mentioned 😭
HAHAHA I was hoping someone would know what I’m talking about 😂
@@SophiaPhannn I was so obsessed with that damn game 😭
It unfortunately cost me my entire sleep schedule though
@@Badasshaloyo I was insane, I used to set ALARMS through the NIGHT to wake up and catch the chats 😭😭😭
The way that I played every storyline again and again to get every possible ending 💀
@@Jay.T4NA I'd literally hide in my schools bathroom just to play the game- any time I missed any chats or got a broken heart I'd get so sad 😭
i LOOOOOVE this movie!! ever since i was a kid (i shouldnt have watched it so young lol) it's been a marking point in my life ngl
This movie is the embodiment of "that girl". Everyone knows her, loves her, wants to be her, and definitely wants her house.
Heavy on “wants her house” 😍
Practical magic is such a classic ❤️❤️ both Nicole Kidman and Sandra bullock gave great performances and such a great pairing too 😊 thanks for the reaction Sophia 😁👍👍
omfg! i loveeee this movie im so glad you’ve reacted to it!
The pta scene is my fave part ❤ I love this movie 😅
I love Practical Magic! I read the book and this is one of the few movies that I have come across that is better than the book
true !
I was a little bit disappointed with the book, I might need to read it again
In the movie they add a "romantic" (literary speaking) aspect to the story, making it better for me (especially about love being a curse, and the generational trauma)
Dianne Wiest is a treasure 🤩
Parenthood (with Steve Martin and Keanu), Lost Boys (Kiefer Sutherland and the 2 Coreys), and The Birdcage (Robin Williams & Nathan Lane) for some of her best mom roles.
This is one of my favorite movies. It gets at 5 watched a year minimum. I’m just gonna recommend the book series to you, 4 books, wraps up the Owens’s family story. It’s beautiful and brilliant
the books are one of my favorite series! so good!
12:10 I love when I watch a reaction and the reactor is asking all the same questions I did when I watched it for the first time 😂 I also agreed with everything you said at the end of the video…the vibes were GREAT but the tone changed so much it was hard for me to get into it fully!
I love this movie so much! and I’m so jealous of people who get to see this movie for the first time I wish I could experience that again lol
CAN YOU WATCH THE CRAFT AND THE CRAFT: LEGACY AFTER THISSS
I watch this more than every year lol. I watch it ever time it comes on regular TV. A habit from growing up watching it with my mom. It’s one of her favorites, and Sandra Bullock is her favorite actress. It’s so nostalgic for me. And I read recently the original Charmed series was inspired by this movie (my favorite tv series). Also, they’ve just confirmed they’re making a sequel. Both main actresses will be in it.
Hace 1 minuto que subió! Omg! Amo esta película! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
It's always a treat to see a new video from you.😁
This movie is one of my all time favourite autumn witchy movie ever.
First time watch?! Omg. This is SO up your alleyway, so I am surprised by that!!!!
Ikr LOL I’m kind of surprised myself that I hadn’t seen it until now 😂
As a red headed woman, I rewatched this not that long ago and connected more with Gilly than I thought and I’m like damn it 😂
Every time I see people react to these videos, they always skip this one line that foreshadowed Gillian’s fate. One of the aunts said that “someday she will fond a guy who go through her”. To be honest, I didn’t catch it either until my mom clocked it.
Also, I don’t think Maria meant for it to be a curse. She just wanted to use the spell on herself, but the magic just evolved into a curse.
Lastly, that truck literally came out of nowhere. It wasn’t behind the bikers. My mom and I think that was the magic of the curse at work there. It just magicked a truck out of nowhere.
Omg I remember hearing that line, but I didn’t think to take it literally 😱 he really did go through her
@@SophiaPhannn i am very curious how the magic system works in this movie.
I feel people don’t even consider making this a spell or something, but magic has a mind of its own.
It is interesting how the leaves fell when she said that.
But I am just going to chalk it up to foreshadowing so my head doesn’t explode overthinking it.
I find reactions to this movie amusing as I grew up with it and am sometimes blinded by nostalgia but I'm forced to face the fact it's a truly strange film. I go back and forth on whether I care about the romance with the cop or not. This movie for me was always about sisterhood.
I would’ve loved it if the movie cut out the cop and was just about sisterhood 😩
HECK YES!!! I have been WAITING for someone to watch Practical Magic!! Can't wait to see what you think!! (as I am posting before watching XD )
What a perfect way to start Spooky Season!
OMG SOPHIA, if you haven’t planned out what your going to watch this month already, try watching “Don’t Look Under the Bed”!!! One of my fave dcoms!!!
I agree with your critiques about this movie. I really like this movie for the setting (that town, the house!) and the sister relationships, and the witchcraft. It's just a vibe overall. But yeah the tone is inconsistent and I think the romance doesn't really work. Still works for me as a comfortable fall film though.
Okay I’m so glad some ppl aren’t into the romance as much either LOL I thought I was hating too much 😅
I would love to stay in that house for a little vacation 😍
I feel like most people (including me) really like this movie because of it's theme of sisterhood. I agree, it feels like a lot of things were put into the movie and everything moved by so fast.
Also, the setting is a bonus as the small town is so beautiful.
Not the Mystic Messenger shout outttt😫😫😫I buried that memory
I hope they keep the same cast in sequel
🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I had the biggest crush on Sally when I was a kid. Her overalls or braids and glasses, oh my god. And I thought I was supposed to think Gilly was "prettier" but I guess I just didn't understand the concept of having a type at such a young age. This movie came out when I was 10, and I grew up watching it. I love the sisterhood, how sweet and homey it is. Feels like meeting an old friend every time I rewatch it. The book is also really cool, but I must admit I'm dreading the sequel.
Yeah I’m wondering how the sequel will turn out considering it’s been decades since the first movie 🤔
@@SophiaPhannnTop Gun Maverick & Beetlejuice Beetlejuice have done well, & Twisters too( though that’s not necessarily a sequel I suppose)
This movie was like a sisterhood of the wiccan.
I wish we had more film scenes with the aunts I love them both my favorite scene in this was 100 percent the midnight margaritas
AGREED!!
OOOO...something new. That's cool that we get to see Halloween-themed stuff for October, Sophia. Anyways, love your videos
🥹🫶🏼
The soundtrack is so good Stevie nicks with Sheryl Crow
I LOVE THIS MOVIEEEE
omg😭 the way i been checking your page everyday hoping for descendants 4 then I clicked on this so fast thinking it was LOL. not mad about practical magic though of course
LOOOOOL Descendants 4 has to WAIT 👻🎃
So dark fun fact: In the book the woman who asks the aunts to cast the love spell has it backfire on her HARD. The man becomes obsessed, leaves his wife for her, and won't leave her alone for a moment, not even to let her go to work or use the bathroom. She eventually gets fed up and goes back to the aunts' house, screams at the sisters and slaps one of them, and the aunts curse the woman to never be able to speak again.
Omg I knew it would backfire on her 😂 the phrasing alone too 💀
Oooh! So Sophia, since Dianne Wiest is in this, I wanna take this opportunity to ask if you ever watched the mini series 10th kingdom? Dianne played an Evil Queen in that. If not, would you be open to reacting to it for your channel? I know you don't do TV series all that often but each episode is about a movie's length long and there's about 3 or 4 episodes/parts so it'd be kinda like reacting to a movie series. It's such an amazing series. It has a lot of similarities to Once Upon A Time.
Ooh I’ve never even heard of that. Hmm I most likely would not make videos about it though unless there’s a huge demand/audience for it. It seems a bit too niche
@@SophiaPhannn Fair enough. Hopefully you can still watch it on your own time. I highly recommend it!
omg! a 10th kingdom fan out in the wild!! exciting :D I'm here to like your suggestion and pray that sophia at least gives it a watch in private haha
@@onceuponanacount I think anyone who loves fantasy and fairytales and campiness should watch it. It also has a lot of action and heart. I absolutely love it.
This movie terrified me as a kid, the plant growing from the grave was horrifying 😮
Yeah it got dark out of nowhere LOL I can imagine it being scary as a kid 😂
YES SHE"S WATCHING IIIIIIITTT!
Ooooooo mmmmyyy!!! I do love this movie😊❤❤
This is my favorite movie! I agree the pacing is a little bit funky, I heard that has something to do with how the book is written, but I haven't read it so I can't say for sure. I actually like the minimal appearance of the cop, because if they focused on it more it could make the movie come off as a rom-com, and if he wasn't in it there wouldn't be much pay off of breaking the curse. The audience would only care in passing that it's broken because none of the characters were in active relationships. And Sally deserved a happy ending :( But I love the relationship with the sisters, me and my own sister have a similar bond. And that the town women came to help after hearing about an abusive ex was so great, just another example of sisterhood (and tbh I think they were bound by their own roles of the phone tree hierarchy to help)
Fun fact the GORGEOUS house was a set, and doesn't actually exist. Barbara Streisand saw the house in the movie and wanted to buy it but they had to tell her it had been taken down. If I had that money I would try to buy that house too lmao
I have a personal headcanon that Jimmy in this movie was some sort of witch as well, because she had to drug him to get some sleep because he didn't sleep? Hello? And then he IMMEDIATELY the next day could manifest? Like I know they resurrected him and he was basically a demon but like he wasn't dead that long. Maybe he was offing people like a sacrifice :/
I agree with your point about how if he was in it more, it would feel more like a rom com, which I would actually dislike more looool but I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Sally and the cop 🥲 maybe it was the actor that they used idk LOL
Maria didn’t have any friends to tell her, “you don’t need a man” and that’s why she retrospectively lost her mind and cursed her bloodline.
❤ this movie
My favourite channel and my favourite movie?? Heck yes!!
Favorite channel??? 🥹🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
My sisters and I grew up watching this movie with our mom and it became on of our all time favorites. Last fall, my sister and I watched the movie with our friend and it was her first time watch. She was like oh this is kind of scary because of the possession parts, meanwhile my sister and i were cozy and watching this as a comfort movie. This will always be a necessary fall movie for my family.
1:47 I mean technically.
I've never seen this movie before but I'm definitely gonna give it a watch.
I can only imagine how werid the tone shifts are actually watching. I got a glimpse of it in the video but I'm sure it's way more noticeable
Great reaction
the aesthetics in this movie are so fall and cozy I loveeee
My sister made me watch this movie and I admit… it was awesome
That is a beautiful dress on a beautiful body.
great choice sophia!! i love this movie so much
Give this movie a 2nd watch! It really does improve the more you watch it. A lot of the really good things are in the small details.
Yeah based on a few comments, there are a few things that I didn’t notice or think about, so I might be more inclined to watch it again now!!
@@SophiaPhannn It’s def worth another chance. Also, maybe to just watch & enjoy & not worry about reacting.
Love this movie. So wholesome =)
I love this movieeee ❤ the title in portuguese is kinda funny is something like "From magic to seduction" and I heard rumours talking about a sequel
I heard about a possible sequel too!!!
Can u do descendants rise of red
Sophia and Halloween is the ultimate combo

You should react to “The Craft”
I guess they didnt hyper focus on the 2nd love interest because the real focus of the movie was the sisterhood. This is one of my sister and I's favorite movie. Also, if you didnt catch it, the other Aunt is Stockard Channing, Rizo in Grease.
I honestly wished they just cut him out of the movie LOOOOL and omg YES I had to look her up after the movie because she looked so familiar. QUEEN!!
Lolol. They had to show somehow that the curse broke.
Watch The Love Witch
OMG
pls watch desendests therise of red pls love your vids keepup the good work
I'm new on this channel but have you ever watched that movie about sisters who are cupids and they fall in love for THE SAME BOY and the boy is PETER PAN 😂 Just love that movie and watching movies about sisters remind me about it
Omg what…. I have never heard of that!! 😱
I mean, is not peter pan, but the actor who played the 2003 version, and for me he will always be peter pan 😅 The name of the movie is "You're so cupid" I think you're gonna love it hahahah @@SophiaPhannn
And correcting myself, I think they are cupid's daughters, but I'm not sure
I love your whole look, Sophia 🧡
