- Bristol Zoo has shut its doors in Clifton for the very last time after 186 years, with visitors coming from all over the UK to be there for the final day.
A gold plaque was put up saying: “On 3 September 2022 Bristol Zoo Gardens, the world’s oldest provincial zoo, closed after 186 years. Thank you for the memories.”

Loved my school trips to Bristol zoo sad to see it closed
A Great Day for all animals, the mental harm that hit many Animals, has now closed. It's About time to see this Animal Prison close. Animals should be free, not locked up and treated in this manner. Go by Bristol Zoo......!
