You can exert your authority without bullying people or talking down to them. Not everyone in jail or prison are bad people or crazy. More times than not, people take on those jobs just because they desire to be aggressive and bullies, look at how cops treat citizens (children included)

    • @naveenzaidi627
      @naveenzaidi627 5 лет назад +19

      Wearing pants doesn't mean they want to be a "man". There is a reason why CO's are required to wear pants and tie their hair up into pony tails or buns. For one, when there are prison riots or general fights how do you expect a CO to intervene with a skirt on and heels??? As for the hair, it is easier to pull hair and put the person in a headlock when the hair is down, whereas when your hair is tied it decreases the chances of being grabbed and put into a headlock. If a male CO had long hair they would have him do the same or have it cut. Nothing to do with emulating men, its just rules to keep female CO's safe.

Had to go to ER and flush it out. I had been on 50 mg prior then 100 and so on but I went to 600 too quick for my body. I was hallucinating and crawling around on the floor like a drunkard yet unable to sleep bc my skin was crawling. I'd say with a high enough dose not used to it. But everyone is different. I personally never touched it again. Not even at a low dose. Too scared.

    Sad thing about this piece is that the piece failed to discuss why these women got put in these positions in the first place. There needed to be a connection between the financial inequality and the laws that makes regular folks criminals (not talking about the murderers, just everybody else).
    Other thing is, these women were shameful of being in jail. The Prison Industrial Complex has since privatized and gotten into the business of glorifying prison so much people love bragging about going to jail as if it were a resume booster.
    On another note, I wonder now how many women are in jail for non-violent, non-criminal offenses (like traffic violations, homelessness, debt, etc.) It would be interesting to see that and the stats that Ava Duveray pointed out that women are being incarcerated almost six times as much as men.
