Yes, the owner of the car and I have been talking about this for about 6 to 8 months. He was pretty adamant about having an original idea, but you still look stock like it belong there.

I like the project. One common mistake. The car is a 54 two sedan. The last year for the sports and business coupe was 1953. The rear side glass was shorter and the trunk lid is longer.

Ya know when I 1st saw how ta put custom taillights on I was expecting 56-57 Packards but this looks more labor intensive ya gotta be a good welder which you are
Just no accounting for some people's taste, is there. I guess the next project will be re-doing '59 Caddy blinkers, or removing the rockets in a '57 Chevy hood!!
PERSONALLY I think the original tail lights would have looked better if they were frenched in about 4 inches. It would have stayed true to the body.. Round tail lights look out of place on that body. But thats just my opinion. The metal work is good though.
Yes, I totally agree. The owner had a vision in his head and didn’t exactly turn out. He’s actually purchased some other tail lights that we’re going to probably change out this winter. Or whole different route I personally would’ve done 54 mercury
My 2 cents Shave fuel door Custom skirts Bring inward the bumpers 4-6 inches Vintage rear bumper brackets with light to hold license plate ( smooth trunk) or Chevy V on it Light smoke tint on all glass Once done rechrome everything in black nickel chrome

Iean Rousel did that on his 53 reworked no tails on body but made some taillights rings out of a aluminum can bottom brasied it to bumper guard

Basically it looks like a shoebox Ford in the back now
Yeah. Not my favorite. I tried to talk him out of it
Nice work but the back of that chevy looks like its half ford and half pontiac.
It’s what the owner wanted. I was thinking 54 mercury myself
Ud. Es de pelicula
I try
That was too pretty to paint. Oh well. 😮
I think he wants to paint it next year
the '54 taillights looked better
Meh. It’s definitely hard not to like a stock 54.

Nice custom but black is so morbid.
😈
@@Theoldironworkshop - Sorry, just my opinion.

COULD YOU MAKE IT UGLYER ???

Shave fuel door
Custom skirts
Bring inward the bumpers 4-6 inches
Vintage rear bumper brackets with light to hold license plate ( smooth trunk) or Chevy V on it
Light smoke tint on all glass
Once done rechrome everything in black nickel chrome
Black nickel chrome would be crazy
Well am send my mazda mx 3 93 too him so he turn it in a pickup for me how about that 😅😂
Send it
Not a “business” coupe… they had a shorter rear side window.
Not in 54. At least what I’m told
It's different but not an improvement - it looks too much like a contemporary ford.
I liked the stock ones
why not fin it up .a bit sorter like a .57 customline .ford it would look good and be easier as you could leave bumper as is
Maybe
Looks factory
Yeah, the whole idea was to keep it really subtle
Destroying a nice car. It’s looks terrible and stupid.
