I found an interesting homepage. No impressum, no phone number, contact only per email. According to this video ALL boots on this homepage seem to be fake. Prices just a little bit betten than usual. Thank you for helping me to avoid faked products!!!!
I bought a pair of CAT boots from dealer supplier here In California assuming they were "genuine",after 3 months stitches came apart and sole was cracked 😳. Surprisingly a local shoe store had the same ones for cheap with a "fake" logo and last them 15 months doing same type of work...
If you want to buy genuine, better buy in shop. This quality is lowest fake one. If you want to buy cheap but better quality. You can buy from factory of China. 如果
I’ll own a pair of CAT Watersheds for 8 years now and wear them basically thw whole year round except for 2-3 months in the summer. They get beaten around in my shop working on cars, on duty calls with the firefighters, riding my motorcycle and in every weather condition… but they get it extra hard because im wearing a prosthetic leg which is really brutal on shoes! Besides all that abuse they hold up perfectly! Every 2-3 months they get cleaned and rubbed down with some dubbing. Once every 2-3 years a new pair of laces and they’re good to go. They served me very well on several continents, in the toughest conditions just doing their job. Original they where doomed because a big shower of diesel oil gave them the stink but I opted for the “abuse them till they’ll break” path… yep works fine besides the fact they just don’t break! After such a long time I’ll made my peace with them; as long as they hold up, I sill wear and maintain them. And on the off chance that they will really break some day; there is the exact same pair in my locker just waiting for their turn. P.s: they are made in China and genuine
The problem is nowadays it's hard to find legit caterpillar boots in the department store. Here in the Philippines you can only buy it online and they only accept credit card payments. So most people are left with no choice but to purchase bootlegs since it serves its purpose as well. It is as stylish as the legit ones people don't care if you're wearing legit or not.
Wow found this super useful! I've been very doubtful about the authenticity of a pair of caterpillar Colorado boots I bought off eBay lately for a ridiculously low price. The insole on the left boot has nothing holding it in place whatsoever. I've emailed the photos to the seller and no response as yet. I'll be returning them I think. Please point me in the right direction so I can confirm if they are genuine or not. Amazing video. 1 like, one comment and a new subscriber!
It is a difficult situation. If the quality of the leather, stitching and manufacture is good. With what you called a ridiculously low price, if you are wearing them for rough work, does it REALLY matter if they are a copy. The genuine boots are still just a mass produced machine made product with a high price tag.
@@wilsjane I've worn then twice since my above comments and decided I'll keep them. After close inspection I noticed two things. It's not an original caterpillar brand HOWEVER it's made to the same specs and quality as the original. So in decided I'd keep em which is also in line with your reasoning.
@@wilsjane you get what you pay for. However, if you had product line and someone was copying your product and with less quality control,. You'd be out to sui. A cheap copy that people think the purchased your product, but then you get criticised for a cheap copy that you have nothing to do with. Canada Goose parkas are routinely copied. They look legitimate, however, they use cat and dog fur on the hoods and they also use god knows what for insulation. Do you still want it because it's cheap? Or, do you want quality and company that stands by their work. ??
@@SocialistDistancing I agree regarding manufacturers brands. If someone wants to market a similar but cheaper alternative product they should be honest. However, non manufactured fashion brands are a different matter. A girl who I worked with some years ago bought a pair of fashion leather pants from the UK's most highly regarded retailer at a cost of more than £700. They split after 2 days. Her claim for a refund was refused, because she admitted that she had worn them to ride her pedal cycle 200 yards and they claimed that this was not fashion wear. I found out later that the pants had been bought from a small manufacturer for £55, using a low grade leather that was not even intended for clothing manufacture. .
in tittle wich boot you say thats fake i have allready that boots pair that is original ok i wear it daily from last 4 years no breaking no loose today's look same as new one boot
Hi, I bought a pair of CAT boots online and the logo isn't seamless but it doesn't have irregularities either. I have never seen this style. Can you please help check authenticity?
I did not find your video helpful at all. I have a caterpiller boat that shows its originality with the accuracy you show and its production site is turkey. You unfortunately showed that the non-original boat is from Turkey....
Caterpillar manufactures original boots in Turkey (Turkiye). So the place of manufacture does not tell us much about authenticity. Plenty of times, replica producers even lie about the manufacturer's location. If your boot is original, I am pretty sure that it has a better quality tag with size number information than the fake boot in our video
I think what you call "fake" may not really be fake because I bought it from original store and everything is as you say "fake" except for the wrong machine print on the leather . The reason they are different may be the places where they are produced, yours was produced in Vietnam and mine is in Turkey. so I think those who watch this video and think they have a pair of fake caterpillars don't need to be upset? What is your comment on this situation?
The fake shoe in the video is definitely fake. It has several anomalies that are desribed in the numbered elements (chapters) of the video. You can compare it with yours and you will note the differences (machine print, Caterpilalr stripe, outsole irregularities, size info in the inside tag etc...)
@@VoiceOfPeopleToday Now I saw that the fake caterpillar in the video says Made in Turkey. It's not fake in the video, it's just produced in Turkey under the CAT license, it's really poor quality. ill send photos your email address.
@@KravatlAdam Made in Turkey is not the problem. CAT, like several other famous brands, manufactures in Turkey. The problem is all the anomalies mentioned in the numbered elements. Made in Location is not mentioned in them.
Who would ever make a knock off of caterpillar boots? They suck and are made in china! China doesn't make knock offs of shit made in china. They make crappy knock offs of quality stuff. If china was to make a knock of of a boot it would be Red wings or other high quality boot.
Lmao, I'd take my Cat 2nd Shift steel toe boots that I've had since June 2017 over the Red Wings I have (that the outsole is falling off of) any day of the week. Currently breaking in a pair of Danner Quarry's that will *hopefully* do as well as the Cats, but I'll likely order another pair of 2nd Shifts just in case.
@@GrandPrix46 it's come to my attention that not all red wings are made in the U.S. The U.S made res wings are still extremely well made but some are now sadly made in china.
@@pmaint1 I'll have to look later on and see where mine were made, but they did not hold up well at all. They're comfortable, still wear them to do yard work, but couldn't believe my $80 Cats destroyed them in reliability (may consider a resole on them, I like how they look and the uppers are still in good shape). I clean and condition my boots about once a month with mink oil, same treatment on all of them. Yet to have a bad experience with the Cats, have high hopes for the Danners, seem very well made.
@@pmaint1 my Red Wings were made in China, explains a lot. Just ordered another pair of Cats on Amazon today for $75 to be able to swap on/off with my Danners, see if the quality is still the same as 2017 when they come in.

my outsole has no logo, is it fake??
what if it came without heel logos? would it be definitely fake?
What do you mean by heel logos? Outsole logos or caterpillar heel ones? Send me pictures and I'll check voptreal@gmail.com
are my boots fake if the tractor thing doesnt have the R sign? I checked all the other differences and evrything seemed alright
Caterpillar has released several logo varieties through the years. If everything else complies, then most probably it's genuine
I got Caterpillar threshold boots from the shoe Carnival and it didn’t come with the tractor logo
The tractor logo at the heel is not a must for all models.
hey are these finding are for all make of cat .. or this particular cat
