I am so very happy for you two! What an adventure! My husband and I love to travel.
I am excited to see the drama in OC turn to drama of growing. I feel that maybe now things will turn around and this town will only get better. Maybe not grow in leaps and bounds but clean up and turn into a positive place that people may want to visit or stay or hopefully live.
You need to get a spot checker. It is a devise that keeps track of you when hiking. There is also a help button
The reason you still talk about Otter Creek is because there are a lot of people there that you love and care about. It's understandable. I love to hear about Otter Creek, I watch your channel, What the Hales, Whatchadoing Willis, just everyone friends with What the Hales! I love and support his friends that do RUclips. My Florida family even though I'm from Texas, but live in Oklahoma, lol, a big RUclips family.

When you are back in Florida head to the St. Pete area for a week. Camp at Fort De Soto and take the short trip to treasure Island and go to Rbar. One or two nights a week they have all you can eat crab legs. It will probably run you around $100+ for the two of you but worth it!! Some of the largest legs you can get in Florida. Don’t expect much from the restaurant as it is a local hang out and far from fancy but where you often get the best food!!
I went to Alaska in 1992 and found it so beautiful. I went in September and it was very COLD! Of course I did not have the proper clothing, as I came from Florida, and you don't really have cold weather clothing. I hope you are able to take a sightseeing train ride and the boat ride through the Glaciers if they still offer them. You will enjoy.

I agree with the check thing!! I don’t know if any job that you get paid before the work has been done. At the end you get paid and the new time clock starts again. If a mandatory workshop is called you have to be there. If you don’t, well money is taken out of the check!! There are ways they can enforce participation and not just get paid $100 for an hour of work a month.
Alaska food is expensive. Produce is usually growing and canned I enjoyed going to see family in lower 48 fruits and vegetables were stocked up on.

That whistle reminds me of the Cannonball Express you maybe to young to remember Casey Jones anyway looking forward to see more of Alaska as I was born and raised in London so seeing any countryside is a pleasant 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸
IT WILL BE SO GOOD TO BE THERE A MONTH. THANK YOU FOR SHARING EVERYTHING. I LOVE CAMEROS ALSO WHEN I GOT MY FIRST CAR IT WAS A 1978 WHITE WITH RED TRIM AND CARPET. MY UNCLE FOUND IT FOR ME , HE WAS A CAR DEALER IN SAN FRANCISCO AND IT HAD BEEN AN INDIANAPOLIS 500 PACE CAR ALONG WITH THE CORVETTE AS THE TOP DOG. THE CAR HAD THE INDIE 500 WRITING ALONG THE SIDE. I FELT PRETTY KOOL IN MY CAR.

WE WENT ON OUR GOLDWING FOR 3 WEEKS, I HAD TO PACK CAREFULLY. AND WE WERE WITH 2 OTHER COUPLES. WE STOPPED EVERY WEEK TO DO OUR LAUNDRY. SO MUCH FUN TO TRAVEL ALL THROUGH PARTS OF ALASKE.

I am wondering if and when you see Denali? We also went on the river boat tour in Fairbanks. Did white water rafting by Denali on the Nenanna River (? It’s been over 15 years so not sure of the name, it goes right by the Princess Lodge)
Chena River goes by the princess lodge.
I do remember it was a great trip down the river, not sure if they still do it this way but the river guides did all of the steering for us and we just hung on. Just make sure you take extra socks if you go. Had a blast.

I like it dark when I sleep too. I have black out curtains and they didn't make it dark enough, so I got the largest black garbage bags I could find and put them on the back of my curtains. Cause I'm retired and I sleep in late. Stay up late and sleep in late so I don't like the daylight in the morning.
