Saw absolutely nothing here, 200 km [~125 antique miles] North of London. 100% cloud cover until long after the event was over. Many thanks for providing the live stream!
I remember this. I was on my canoe trip in Canada all of my friends and I all ate our quesadillas watching the moon. If you are a kid seeing this you need to go to Camp Ahmek it was the greatest place ever
this is confusing the sun is lighting up the moon where must the sun be for the moon to be lit like this and @ what angle? according to the light and its projecting angle/shape what shape must the object be to create a shadow like that and where is the camera man standing /flying hovering or orbiting?? @ 1:49:59 1:56:26 2:51:47 and when the moon is about 90 degrees above my head /home where is it getting its light from? or is it not possible for the moon to be 90 degrees above anyone's home thank you!!
Lunar eclipses only happen during a full Moon. You see the Earth's shadow cast onto the Moon, i.e. Sun, Earth and Moon form very nearly a straight line. You may have been confusing this with lunar phases, which are the result of the Moon's own shadow i.e. how much of the lit side we see from Earth according to the angle between the three bodies. The Moon phases form one complete cycle every ~29.5 solar days, but a lunar eclipse only lasts a few hours - as long as it takes for the Moon to traverse Earth's shadow. An easy way to tell one from the other is that the Moon wanes from its East (our West) but is eclipsed from its West (our East). Note also that the cameras are not rotated according to the local tangential plane i.e. how a person would have seen it. In part this is for reasons of consistency - otherwise, the Moon would appear to "turn" in the frame as the camera tracks it.
Fabulous job as usual. Music, chat. Everything
