I faced myself once.
I both lost and won.
Which means if I fought myself to death I can both survive and die at the same time.
Then that means the whole concept was paradoxical and it is only a metaphorical way about bettering yourself.
I like how they added a lance animation for eclipse despite the fact that BK only ever uses alondite in the actual game, and Zelgius doesn't actuall ever appear on the battlefeild
You can equip a lance to him on the chapters you use the Burger King.
They can't have that glitch out on them.

Probably just the lance version of Eclipse. Could be wrong, though.
The Black Knight is a shadow, the True Self. Zelgius' shadow is overly impressed with anything, this also includes death in battle. So Ike must beat the shit out of it to make Zelgius see that impressive isn't impressive enough to turn the Black Knight into a Persona. ah memories.

I wanna check that out eventually but it may end up doing nothing for me, not cause I won't understand it(I probably won't TBH), but cause my compy(Macs, why you so stubborn with programs?!)won't like FEeditor or Nightmare. I actually owe all of my Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn hacking skills to Goldie for the RAM hacking. Despite her not teaching me anything, the addresses she posted on the WiiRD forums helped it click for me.
As for the ROM hacking stuff, I owe all of that to VincentASM, the well known admin of Serenes Forest.
Actually no, those skill activations were obtained from the Japanese guides published by IS. So you can blame them for that. Vincent has not looked into the Assembly of the game simply because all he has are ROM hacking tools.

I found it interesting and slightly disappointing you couldn't recruit the Black Knight. I know you can recruit Zegius, and they're the same dude, but I wouldn't have minded seeing that awesome armor alongside my own units.
There are a few missions in the game where Black Knight will tag along with the Dawn Brigade
