Attractive men care less about their skin care and more about their education. Attractive men don't need to play a gibson guitar, they have just a deeper understanding of art. They don't eat meat with good manners because they have high standards of emphathy. They don't care about tailored suits because they focus on essential goals and values. They are charismatic and this is nothing you will ever get from your promotion videos.
With regards to skin care: I've learned that no amount of skin care will work for acne if you don't eliminate triggering foods from your diet. I suffered from acne for years. I tried numerous skin care products with little to no results. Finally, I went on an elimination diet, cutting dairy, white rice, soy sauce and oat products from my diet. My skin cleared up within a couple of weeks! Check your diet, gentlemen!
If you have acne issues, I also recommend doing this. Personally, I've never had acne, but skincare is more like the icing on the cake than the 'cure' for all your problems. - James
@@Gent.Z Of course, as tasteful as those foods may be, they certainly are not known for being healthy. Dairy is healthy if used in moderation. White rice has been bleached, removing many of the nutrients non-treated rice has. Soy sauce is high sodium and soy products themselves are not what I would consider healthy. Oats and oat products usually are meant for livestock. There is more to the story than the statement "eating salad to lose weight said no cow ever".
I'm a University student and I made it a new year's resolution to fix my fashion sense so I immediately bought myself a suit that actually fit me and was not one of my brother's old ones. I wore my charcoal suit for the whole of a semester and even though I didn't fashionably 'fit in' with my peers I still felt socially powerful and protected by my clothing. My now sophisticated fashion sense has allowed me to obfuscate some of the anxieties that have kept me back in most social situations. All this is to say that I have only found this channel recently and extremely appreciate the advice you have provided. Thank you.
As someone who consumes your free content so exuberantly every time I get a new video on my home feed, I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t express how grateful I am. Thank you for doing what you do. You really are making an impact on this generation of young men and I hope to see your channel grow and grow. 😌
Know how to do a lot of different things! I have had so many jobs from being a short order cook to bicycle sales and repair to selling and installing stereo equipment to selling high-end men’s clothing to bartending to being a practicing dentist and dental educator. Now I’m learning Spanish, baking and playing my Stratocaster! When you know a lot about many topics you are never at a loss for conversation.
As someone who has been around a few years exhibiting good and bad behaviours at different times, I totally agree with the list. You have a new subscriber.
Here’s a suggestion for video ideas: recommended movies, albums books or other classic works for aspiring gentlemen, or maybe a look at gentlemanly attire during the golden age of Hollywood, an era I’m particularly fascinated with
One of the best habits I've found is reading. And not just passively taking in a book, but engaging with it. If it's fiction, read it so you can discuss the narrative, the writer's style, character journeys, etc. If non-fiction, be able to talk about the author's perspective, argue for or against it.
I am 17 years old, and I came across your channel. Honestly, your channel has become my favorite RUclips channel. I really appreciate your efforts in making this type of content. Thank you, gentleman.

The realistic before and after weight training video is inspiring and needs to be appreciated in these day and age of juiced Instagram models. Folks this is what naturally body recomposition looks like 1:34
Another good one mate. Something I would add related to no. 5 “take initiative” is to be decisive. For example if someone especially a girl asks me “What do you feel like doing?/Where do you want to go?” don’t say I don’t know, what do you want, and reflect the question back at them. Its not being polite you are being asked to make a decision. Just say “Lets go here” or “I feel like doing this” You may not always be right but don’t be indecisive, thats almost always wrong
I was thinking specifically of a double dinner date, where we had all three ordered except for my gent counterpart, who asked the server a million questions and then asked for more time to decide. Finally he just asked what I ordered and picked the same thing. It gave the impression that he couldn’t make a simple decision. We went for drinks after and he was the same way at the bar. Don’t be that guy, don’t make easy things look difficult
In my modest opinion, something that should be recognized more is postural training. It improves massively your posture (especially if you have neck and back pain) and gives you a good foundation to keep or improve from (with weight training). The only point I want to make: go to the gym and lifting weights is good, but don't do it for the sake of getting the ladies. Personally I am skinnier than James because of genetics, and to see improvements I had to spend my entire free time in the gym, getting rid of everything else. It wasn't going to cut it, so I reverted back to my usual schedule: 2 times a week to stay fit (having a blue collar physical job helps to keep me active during the day), a good diet and that's it. I won't have a muscular physique anyway so I just focus on my health.
I started eating later in the day and clean, drinking more water. I sue gentle baking powder in the shower twice a week for cost reasons and cold water rinse in the shower-then moisturizer...pull ups, push ups and goblet squats ever other day.. Going to Traditional Latin Mass every Sunday and wearing a sport coat.
My habit is actually a shower in the evening. Instead of the potential rush of the morning when steps might be skipped, I'm able to take my time. This also ties back into your "living luxriously" video, because it's a luxury I get to look forward to and enjoy daily.
Yes excessive consumption leads to poverty. Spend money on the things you will really use but otherwise avoid. Always buy best quality you can afford as this will save money in the long run. A few high quality clothes are better than a wadrobe full of cheap clothes. Expensive clothes last longer and make you feel good about yourself and increase confidence. A good quality shirt may last five years a cheap one maybe a year. Buy more classic clothes than the latest trends. A good pair of blue jeans and brown boots can be matched to many different shirts. A good jacket for winter. A good dress watch will always look better than a smart watch.
Another great habit is to learn how to say no. Even though it's important to be a gentleman, and all the advice from Dale Carnegie's book may still be applied, you don't want to become a yes-man that agrees with everything and doesn't have any opinion because he's afraid to be disliked. It is important to be able to refuse some offers from another people or to say that you have another opinion about some idea. When I started doing it, I was a bit scared, but it turned out that people seem to respect you more when you act on your own instead of being a people-pleaser.
First of all, a huge congrats on the continued improvements in your physique, it really is inspiring. "And despite what some people in the manosphere say, there really isn't that much difference between talking to men, and talking to women." Hear, hear! I will confess, I don't miss the days when you parted your hair more towards the middle, though you always looked neat and well groomed. I never thought much about experimenting so I love that it's on this list. I also love to see you continue to push having a skincair routine, it's an often neglected point for men and it does make an important difference. I have tried various hairstyles. As for facial hair, I used to be clean-shaven, then for years I had stubble, right now I'm growing a beard and I'm quite happy with it. Taking initiative yes, most women still generally prefer to be approached by a man and will rarely approach a man, and once you're together, you probably won't be together long if you don't make plans, maintain focus on self-development, and go out of your way to make her happy. I'm always pleased when you bring up cleanliness, it really is a dealbreaker for women as well as, so often, for personal happiness and efficiency. Cheers to your style.
There is always a value point in these videos. Community, try focusing on Gent Z’s ideas and concepts that are new to you rather than arguing about his take on something you know.
That is especially true of women! And men frequently mention it. Women notice your shoes and your ties, even when they overlook your suit. Weight training is a non-negotiable. Gentlemen, we are the last defenders of the "old ways." Courteous to all, curious, courageous,, educated, warrior. Somethings are better left in the past, but not all.
My habit is to apply moisturizer and sunscreen before I step out. I never really cared much for skincare before. My attitude was always "I'll get burned, but I'll never tan, so why bother" Now..... its thanks to my sister that I've started taking care of my skin.
Great video James. Excellent video and great points. For skin care, 100% agree a proper grooming/hygiene regimen is crucial. A few comments from me if subscribers don't use Tiege Hanley 1. When you wash your face, make sure your hands are CLEAN (wash your hands first), then wet your face with lukewarm water and use a facial cleanser (not a bar of soap unless it is facial soap) and build up a lather on your face in circular motions for 15-20 seconds and then rinse with lukewarm/cool water. Expensive product I use (Clinique for men face wash). Inexpensive product I also use/recommend: Cetaphil gentle face wash. If you suffer from acne or have oily skin, try using Cetaphil's oily skin formula. 2. Pat your face dry, and follow up with an oil free, non-comedogenic moisturizer. I typically use a moisturizer from Clinique or Clarins for men. Cetaphil or Cerave sell quality moisturizers for 15 dollars. Use one with an SPF 30 in the daytime, use one without an SPF at night. 2. Shower with a quality body wash. I typically use Dr. Bronner's unscented cleanser. Dr Bronner's also makes scented versions - citrus, almond, etc. if you want that. Less expensive products include Dove unscented, etc. I use unscented cleansers to avoid a fragrance conflict with the cologne I wear. 3. Use a decent all-over body moisturizer to keep your skin soft and avoid dry skin. Vaseline makes some excellent all-over body moisturizers (don't use on your face). Acne is caused by an overgrowth of sebum clogging you pores. It can be caused by bacteria or other things that clog your pores. This is why washing your face twice a day with a quality, gentle cleanser is important and using a moisturizer prevents your face from generating more sebum. Don't touch your face! Certain foods also trigger acne. Try eating a clean diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, avoid processed sugars and drink a lot of water. I find that taking Omega 3 (fish oil) capsules help keep my skin clear as well. Do all of the above and you will look better and feel better.
A big key to success in the whole of it is not just confidence, but control. You know who you are and you don’t need to prove it to anyone. If you ever go overboard or fall short; admit it, learn from it and make sure it doesn’t happen again. If someone tries to call you out for it and say “you’re an animal!” Or “you’re insane!” Lean into it. I lost my cool and threw down with the police, word got around quickly and people were afraid of me. Someone came up to me and asked, and without skipping a beat, I said “Yeah, I definitely fought the cops. It was a stupid thing to do, they were just doing their job and I wasn’t in control.” The honesty and straightforwardness will either make them afraid of you, or respect you more. Don’t let anyone else tell you who you are for you, that’s your job.
"Manners maketh man". - I've been doing weight training since the 7th of last month (no days off) . The changes are visible and significant. - Skincare is a non-negotiable. - Attire is vital. If you're dressed like a slob, expect to be treated as such. - A good cologne.
I could not agree more on all of your points but especially on attire. I find when I am dressed well, I feel good about myself and I am treated very well by staff at a store or restaurant than if I was a slob.
I would also add, to create for yourself an aura of mystery in regards to your speech or your actions. Not with everything, but enough to keep those around you trying to figure you out. Their interest will only rise. Don’t ever show all your cards to anyone. Always keep an ace under your sleeve.
Appreciate the sense of humour! 0:33 - 0;41 _"Let's waste no time and get straight into number one"_ -- then the long delay with the logo ... 🤭 _...and "long-distance cycling, but they look like this"_ 1:14 😏 That's me
Does anyone else have great success with most general stuff about self improvement (gym, eating clean, quitting videogames and adult content, starting to dress like an adult and that other stuff) but socializing and finding friends feels almost utopic and like it only happens in movies? I can't where I could find guys with similar habits in real life. It feels so scary to talk to random people and makes me feel like a psycho when I think of approaching people other than at the store or at the gym.
Yes, it can be difficult to find men in real life that share the same vales as you. That's why I began hosting the Gent Z meetups. What city are you in?
@@Gent.Z I live in Finland. We're like the most antisocial, sad, hateful, quiet, and prejudice-having people in the world. We're also racist and dislike immigrants. It's normal to not talk to anyone unless it's absolutely necessary and you're seen as annoying and trying too hard if you act socially. We don't make eye contact with random people. We stand minimum one meter apart at bus stops. I'm not even kidding. Google "How to wait for a bus in Finland" for an illustration.

One thing I get most compliments on is being good with children and pets. I always take my time to pet a stray cat or dog, or getting along with their younger siblings, cousins, nephews, etc. I genuinely love taking care of them, and apparently, that is attractive. 😂
Hello, I am a Gentle Woman and I learn a lot for myself from your podcasts. I have some comments on this podcast and you may not like them at all!! :( First, I find a beaming happy smile one of the most attractive things in a man, something that I haven't seen from you!. I like a man who talks a bit faster than you and has excitement and fun in his voice, something else that I haven't seen from you! You would bore me to death!! Sorry, but it's the truth from this Gentle Woman!
Don't forget that weight training also makes you more attractive to men. I'm old and out of shape now, but in my younger days I did weight training sporadically for long periods. I noticed a huge difference between being treated as though I were invisible when I wasn't weight training and having lots of people - particularly men - wanting to be around me when I was weight training. I found it fascinating.
Well done James. A question….. I have several pairs of cufflinks from my father and brother that I’d like to wear but don’t have the proper shirts just a tux shirt. Can you recommend ? Thank you.
I don't find social a bad thing. I rather like engaging in conversations except most of the conversations revolve around work which I find boring b/c I don't do what most men do. I have a white collar job in supply chain and most men are physical labor type work and just jobs that I find rather boring. I don't mind talking about sports or athletics but after awhile I get bored with that too b/c that's not a life priority. I enjoy talking about Christianity though and spurring men on to being a better husband, father, etc.
Saying no frees up your time and money to spend on the things that matter most. Pick one or two hobbies and do them well rather than five that are done mediocrely. When you are young you think you have unlimited time. As you get to middle age you realise that there is not that many years left. A few good friends mean way more than twenty you really don't know. Build a brotherhood and don't waste time on those who don't reciprocate.
Once I turned 30, I stopped wanting to wear graphic ties and started wanting to wear a button-up shirt or polo whenever I have a reason to leave the house that has nothing to do with my job.
Yep gotta dress like a man if you want to be treated like one. No graphic tees or splashy logos. No sneakers unless at gym or casual bbq. Got to develop a style that is unique to you.
@lachlanmaple4868 i got cowboy boots,a pair of tennis shoes, and a pair of oxford shoes. I only were the Oxford shoes for church of any other formal occasion. When it comes to the boots or tennis shoes,it all depends on how I feel when I'm getting ready to head out.
weight training and maintaining a good body fat percentage is important not just for the look of your body but the look of your face. fat face = weaker slim face = stronger
you miss-read the topic of sigma-male; the 0.5% circle don't care much if anything about the rest; the valuable is in the essence, inside, not outside, and most people show no ability to pierce the veil of the appearance; why they should care, maybe it is important, yet they go on with a lonely life.
Paradoxically...I prefer "old James" look, which was perhaps not that polished, yet had certain distinctive charm, relatable "roughness" ☺️ Great video tho!
I go to the gym but I have stopped doing machine squats because when I am out that night, i walk about like I am drunk. Its the squats that cause it. By the way an english gentleman would never say riding shotgun with you. Not unless he was a cowboy gentleman. Just saying bro. ☺️
And what makes a gentlewoman? The counterpart of the gentleman. They belong together. It would be an addition to have a partner who instructs the gentlewoman.
I’m just curious to know in case you read any of the comments is what are your feelings of cursing and swearing? I’m a Gen X(1978) and we swore like sailors with Tourette syndrome back in the day. I thought we were bad but I found out that the Gen Z apparently is the worse for cursing and swearing. Unfortunately when it comes to the F word, I have absolutely no problem saying it but try to be mindful at work but it slips out time to time. I just want to know what your thoughts are on this. Especially with hearing that your generation is the biggest cussers of all.
1) Having to duck when you enter a doorway. 2) Seeing beautiful blue eyes in the mirror. 3) Having to shave around your square jaw. 4) Having to stretch to fit your broad shoulders into your shirt. 5) Counting your six-pack abs. 6) Being able to decide whether to take your Lexus LX600 or Bentley. 7) Listening to the crowd cheer as you score yet another World Cup goal.
I would very much Iike for good manners to be at the top of everyone’s list. That has gone out the window and look how awful people act towards each other. Be a good conversationalist. It’s an art form that doesn’t exist any more. Ask follow-up questions about people’s lives. Makes others feel seen and valued. Plus you might learn a whole lot. Speak purposefully and clearly. Don’t mumble. Know how to use cutlery and don’t eat in a way that makes others at your table feel ill. You’re not a farm animal; don’t eat like one. Move with purpose and precision. Do not rush. When was the last time you saw a truly powerful person hurrying? I always say: good breeding is free; and yet it is priceless.
What a bunch of shallow empty self important self involved people we have in here. Go contribute something to the world and stop worrying so much about your appearance and the way people think about you. Hint, they aren’t thinking what you want them to think, it’s mostly. “Wow this guy try’s too hard” and then they go back to not caring about you.
Glad you gently debunked the "sigma male" myth. There is no such thing as a "sigma male". Not in anthropology, biology, psychiatry, psychology, sociology, or any of the sciences.

My habit is to apply moisturizer and sunscreen before I step out. I never really cared much for skincare before. My attitude was always "I'll get burned, but I'll never tan, so why bother"
Now..... its thanks to my sister that I've started taking care of my skin.
Top content man !!
Thank you. - James
Effective people. Affective men. Wow. solid 9/10 for thumbnail 😂❤
another great video james!
Great video James. Excellent video and great points. For skin care, 100% agree a proper grooming/hygiene regimen is crucial. A few comments from me if subscribers don't use Tiege Hanley
Wow, just wow, I was extremely impressed when I saw your physique. You had a great transformation!
Thank you. It was a lot of work and A LOT of eating. Still a work in progress but I'm proud of what I achieved so far.
I study language most days. Intelligence is an attractive quality, doubled when combined with style and personality.
Improved my listening skills.
Very very valuable information. I think you missed one: PUNCTUALITY
That comes later. 😅
LOVE the way you look in that pinstripe suit!
Google "How to wait for a bus in Finland" for an illustration.

when you show the evolution of your appearance, the second one it GOAT.
Great body transformation
Thank you. - James
I will be 50 in january and still a work in progress.
One thing I get most compliments on is being good with children and pets. I always take my time to pet a stray cat or dog, or getting along with their younger siblings, cousins, nephews, etc. I genuinely love taking care of them, and apparently, that is attractive. 😂
You’re correct about hairstyles and grooming. You also appear 10 years your senior

Great channel !!
Your habits reflect a sense of responsibility for your own destiny.

What is a gentlewoman? I believe the word is lady.
@@robscoggins Gentlewoman is definitely a word! Maybe you should look it up, Rob. I like it better than lady. Have a Gentle day! :)
One habit I have...
I salute all
No matter their rank!
Thanks for your service!
quite a transformation since 2023
Don't forget that weight training also makes you more attractive to men. I'm old and out of shape now, but in my younger days I did weight training sporadically for long periods. I noticed a huge difference between being treated as though I were invisible when I wasn't weight training and having lots of people - particularly men - wanting to be around me when I was weight training. I found it fascinating.
Great advice.
Well done James. A question….. I have several pairs of cufflinks from my father and brother that I’d like to wear but don’t have the proper shirts just a tux shirt. Can you recommend ?
Thank you.
@@honest-andy Start with two French cuff shirts - one in white and one in light blue. - James
Great tips. You and Jamila Musayeva (RUclips) would make a great collab on a video on general etiquette one day. Thank you, James!
I have to say you look better clean shaven. Much better.
Looking like a CEO
I'll take that as a compliment. - James

Haha, thank you. The first part, at least, I can confirm was quite accurate.
I study a lot of psychology and philosophy which is attractive to some people.
Shave, shower daily and cut your hair for gods sake.

weight training and maintaining a good body fat percentage is important not just for the look of your body but the look of your face.
fat face = weaker
slim face = stronger
Don't forget manners. 😉
you miss-read the topic of sigma-male; the 0.5% circle don't care much if anything about the rest; the valuable is in the essence, inside, not outside, and most people show no ability to pierce the veil of the appearance; why they should care, maybe it is important, yet they go on with a lonely life.
Paradoxically...I prefer "old James" look, which was perhaps not that polished, yet had certain distinctive charm, relatable "roughness" ☺️
Great video tho!
Hands up if you’ve been a gentleman of RUclips for so long that you’ve seen enough Tiege Hanley adverts to last you a lifetime…
James, I believe your shirt is slightly long but your jacket looks to be good length.
The greatest thing anyone can achieve is an education.
Without that, you are not useful or interesting to anyone...
Do you wear medium or large for shirts ?
And never forget, weight lifting is super effective to attract other men
I love my own company that is something really something
I go to the gym but I have stopped doing machine squats because when I am out that night, i walk about like I am drunk.
Its the squats that cause it.
By the way an english gentleman would never say riding shotgun with you.
Not unless he was a cowboy gentleman.
Just saying bro. ☺️
And what makes a gentlewoman? The counterpart of the gentleman. They belong together. It would be an addition to have a partner who instructs the gentlewoman.
A gentlewoman is called a lady sir
That would be opposite of these habits
And, you added what to your diet. Salads and vegetables?
💯💯
I couldn’t agree more that is a great book a forever read! I highly recommend Psycho Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz.
Thanks for the recommendation. Good to see you here. - James
Not in anthropology,biology,
psychiatry,psychology,sociology,
or any of the sciences.
