@@infizex Greetings. I sang in choirs for many years: Bach, Beethoven, Verdi, etc. It is true that of these gentlemen, Pavarotti was vocally the best at that aria, but Domingo was a better actor and better at dramatic voice roles (Othello), Carreras was better at romantic, more delicate roles than the huge ones the other two usually did, and was a good actor.
Regarding other tenors doing this aria better, look for Franco Corelli. His voice was crystalline, and more precise than Pavarotti's. Also a better actor.
In the extremely hard profession of opera singing, there are no perfect artists; but there are the ones in which the sum of their perfection largely surpasses the sum of their imperfections. ✌

The way Pavarotti pats Carreras on the head shows their brotherly affection, one more remarkable basis of this collaboration. The Three Tenors became an iconic phenomenon, but we forget that at its inception it was unheard of that three divos would share a stage. They broke new ground, opening operatic singing to new listeners, showing that world class artistic excellence and camaraderie, beauty and fun, can exist on the same stage together.

Luciano’s always carried a bent nail as a good luck charm, my mother found a bent nail , had it covered in 14 caret gold and gave it to an usher , a few moments later Luciano asked to meet my mom . We went backstage and will never forget his enormous hands as he placed it on top of my head and called me princepessa. I didn’t understand how incredible that moment was until I became an adult . Sadly lost my mom almost 2yrs ago and played Nessun Dorma on a loop during her final days. The tears haven’t stopped flowing

Even though he wasn't my blood Grandad. I will always think of him when I hear this. My grandfather Danny was one of the most wonderful men I ever knew. He looked after my mum when she was a kid and never stopped caring about her or my family. He was a good partner to my grandma and more importantly a man that I always respected even when I was a little boy ( despite what my dad thought of him) I am not a spiritual man, but if i was I know I'd do anything I could to communicate to Danny and make sure his memory never died. Its our solemn duty to make sure the ones we love aren't forgotten. We won't live forever, but maybe the kindness we provide will outlast us.

They were great together! Pavarotti's voice so clear and beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.

All three are incredible, it’s true. But the ease with which Pavarotti sings, the lack of drama of body and face, allows the voice and the music itself to shine in a different way.

When all three of them sing, all of the instrument players just turn. I, personally, almost shit my pants. Amazing.

I wish I could have had the great privilege of watching them live on stage. It reminds me a lot of my grandpa. He used to watch his opera collections crying all the time. Just like I am now.

I was then and will forever be moved by how supportive and protective Placido and Luciana seemed toward Jose, all through this concert. He had been so devastatingly ill - it was a miracle that Jose was on the stage and still singing with his "big brothers."
