Newer smoother operation, better ergonomics, smaller and quieter for the Makita here all day. Makita coming out real strong for using that little 4.0 amp hour battery 💪.
That's a 2.5ah battery, making it even more impressive!
@@pianoverg It’s a 2.5 at 40v which would make it more comparable to a 5ah at 18v
@@kyle3045 I have every 12v, 18v, and 40v battery, and a massive fleet of tools for my crews so I already get the watt hour size comparison, I was only pointing out that it was a 2.5ah battery to the guy who called it a 4.0
Had a Makita long time ago, I did like the chuck and fast charger . Drill was stolen and I sold the remaining battery and charger for half want it cost and bought a DeWalt ( because you can buy a DeWalt at Lowes and I don't have a home Depot near by)
Thank you for the video!
👍🏻👍🏻
You got it 👍
do you feel like the new 6Ah battery for DeWalt is more powerful than the old? Are they using 21700s in the 'yellow top' version?
I would have to test that. It would make a great video.
This 6ah flexvolt use ole 18650 cells. 9ah and 12ah use 21700 for example.
That gigantic battery on the Dewalt though......ouch!
makita is better because it is more compact with same power against dewalt
True 👍
Perfect bro! "Nothing Scientific ". Tired of hearing "oh 2.5 ah 36v vs 5 ah 18/20v not fair" blah, blah, blah.....I'm with you, can I get work done faster with this, or a power application where the other can't do the job. Fan boys just need to stop.....
Which tool felt smoother? Which one has better and more precise trigger?
Makita XGT is the most precise piece of equipment in this video.
Makita easily and chuck a 5amp on it that dewalt will get smoked
This!!! I could care less about a drag race with tools. I care about build quality and trigger quality and engagement
Those test do those drills no justice try some hammer drilling in concrete or holesaw in treated lumber
The 18v dewalt keeps up with the 40v makita and beats it. But I like the makita because the makita has newer stuff hahahaha
True 👍
Having a separate battery platform for a hammer drill sounds terrible. No backwards compatibility makes Makita 40v a complete non starter
I think what they're targeting is the professional that may need larger power tools 40v and 80v demolition hammers bigger saws.
Dewalt tried this years ago with a 36v platform and it failed rather quickly. Dewalt did great this time around with the flexvolt being backwards compatible. Throw in that a number of 20v combo kits come with "flexvolt" battery it makes it much more attractive to buy a 60v bare tool later on.
@@InspiredCraftsman True!
@@InspiredCraftsman yea but they’re also limiting their tool power usage for higher demand job site and running those juicy batteries will destroy older tools longevity that can’t utilizes flex volt tech.
@@InspiredCraftsman flex volt batteries are dogshit, look online…the amount of failures and dead batteries you see is so bad. It actually makes sense to make it non backward compatible when you think about it…if u had an impact driver and drill in a kit, it wouldn’t come with a flexvolt battery…now you want to buy a flexvolt circ saw, u have to buy a battery too (most people don’t think of this). That’s where a 1 battery platform outshines 👊
Makita 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Drill for drill I have to give a slight edge to the Makita for how smooth and compact it is, however the Dewalt has a better battery lineup for less money and in Battery vs Battery comparison the dewalt beat the makita but not by much. The Makita though has a safety cut off feature to extend the life of the batteries. So, overall they are as close to equal as it gets buts im convinced these are the two to choose from out of all other hammer drills. If money permits, I would own both to be honest.
I'm curious what the better battery lineup is? And last time I checked dewalts flexvolt batteries are still the most expensive.
Looks like they were equal…except for the price….Makita very expensive. Great video..not too shabby…👍👍…
True 👍
More expensive but better 👌🏻
@@Aladinscave and heavier…🤣🤣🤣
@@delosaurasrex732 depends what battery is used
I rather drive a toyota than a Ford. Thats all I'm gonna say
Drill 's chuck 's without the turn key's.are loose anytime's ....( Impact drive ,impact wrench tools , are better , than drills
DeWALT wins hands down
2.5 ah vs 6 ah .. now 5 ah vs 6 ah
" DEWALT EL GIGANTE "
Si esta muy potente
The Makita is nice But it Absolutely Sucks Drilling Concrete .......and If thats what you Really need it for , Don't Bother , get Something Else.....
