We've had a tough last 2 1/2 weeks at our house (losing my Father-in-law in the midst of a holiday season). YOU calm me, you make me laugh and this long awaited video post was full of info and wonderful tips for timid 'entertainers'. I've had a few disasters in my day and I always just keep on going and recover because I don't let burnt biscuits ruin an evening (just slice the bottom burnt layer off and they taste fabulous). That's one story of many and with each and every one I just kept going. It's about your guests, having fun and nurturing, not about perfection :). So so happy Leonard is ok.

Ok, vermouth is divine!!! Who knew?! (Oh yeah...she did!) I had some in the cupboard from recent martinis and I just tried it solo. Love it. And btw, Ben and Jerry’s pistachio ice cream and vermouth is a match made in heaven! Love this show...my new fave.
Whenever two or three are gathered together, there’s usually a fifth! Had the choir over pre-Yule and used a cup measure (such fun) to make a huge pitcher of gin martinis. I called it “the Recipe” after those two old dears in the Waltons. Folks just luf the recipe. Thanks for a stunning hour of of cooking with Randy. I absorbed it all and hope to do a duck breast real soon! My Shepard’s pie - with lamb- has duchess spuds ’ on the top. I enjoy seeing it come out of the oven in swirly browned goodness. Love! I have been waiting for a new DPT video. I love all aspects of your videos. I love to cook and try new things. It is different to learn a recipe for one thing but to have step by step for a dinner party. The humor, education cooking tips, the stories, the quick bits of information that are lost until you cook them, then panic are all there. Besides, who does not adore Leonard. Grateful to hear that he recovered from the Thanksgiving day swollen faced dog debacle. I love that you go from beginning of shopping, (Tip your fish monger or butcher) to cooking the dishes, a sweet treat at the end and the ever loving cocktail. Thank you and your production crew. It takes a village.
In my culture we use a mortar and pestle practically on a daily basis for both wet and dry ingredients and really brings out the flavor in the ingredients. It’s usually front and center in the kitchen because it’s used so much. The people that I know that use it, can cook their tails off.
I love you, Randy... you are hysterical and give me tons of great ideas but I just want to mention I use a mortar and pestle 2-3 times a week in south and southeast Asian cooking. I’m no chef but I am a home cook. If I misheard this segment in your show I apologize, I was multitasking. Happy holidays and wish you a healthy and productive 2021.

My little senior girl doxie had a bad allergic reaction to vaccinations a number of years ago and also had swollen cheek from eating a bee ... will never do vaccinations again with our current dog when he gets older. Kitchen Disasters: keep the delivery pizza place menu handy. My story: NEVER place Pyrex after roasting anything on a stove-top burner EVEN if it is OFF (recently). My beautiful Rib roast. Pyrex shatters in millions of tempered shards of glass. (this was years ago -- believe it or not, I put it in the sunlight so I could see and pick out the sparkling glass, shaved off the top layer, and yes, we ate it.) Wasn't gonna waste that piece of beef on waiter's wages and having dropped $60 for it.
