Most importantly, the energy and freedom the band embodies collectively. Axl gives us a lot and continues to, and I hope he sings till ripe old age.

    Some great memories from this band. I graduated from high school in 1988 and this song was rocking on my local radio station played on the stereo of my POS 79 Honda Prelude. While attending university I bought tickets with my limited funds to go see these guys in concert. I'm in Canada, but at the time weed was not legal... and yet I think I got high at this concert from the second hand smoke. I'm sure it was a gimmick that they had at every concert, but they stopped the show midway to order pizza from a local vendor and have it delivered on stage.
    The 80's were a fun time for lovers of music.

I saw ‘em in KC in 2013 & Axl was absolutely amazing! Sounded great! So glad I got to see him then…. 2017 was definitely the start of his noticeable ‘voice change issues’. I hate it for him, but I’ll always love Axl! THE most amazing voice on earth cudnt last forever…💔 None of us are at ‘peak performance’ our entire lives. One of these comments said that Axl GAVE us his voice in the 80's and 90's. So true. John Lennon sang with that much grit ONE TIME, for Twist and Shout, and it's legend how it shredded his throat. But it sounds SO good. And so did Axl. Much pleasure was gained, the world over, from his vocal performances - for decades. He paid the price but he is still performing quite admirably.

    To everyone whining about his voice, he's 62 years old, and of course he can't sing as well as used to. That being said, he's still giving it his all at every show, and tickets are reasonably priced. GNR isn't charging an arm and a leg for a seat like Bon Jovi; who's voice is now horrendous.

    • @davidphilipsmusic
      @davidphilipsmusic Год назад +2

      Age is not the main factor in the deterioration a voice. If it were then singers like Paul Rogers wouldn't be singing better now in his 70s than he did in his 20s. Life style, alcohol/drug abuse, amount of touring, lack of sleep, diet, vocal injuries incurred due to the above... these are all factors. To say "of course he can't sing as well now, he's 62" is not correct.

Probably had a secret liver and kidney transplant during that time. Celebrities get to go to the front of the donor list.

      I mean it’s a compilation that specifically focus on his voice evolution, so there’s nothing cruel about it, it’s just reality… voice changes, and for rock singers it’s almost never for good. Obviously this compilation focuses on the upper register of his voice because it’s the one part of his voice that has evolved during the years, his lower register is basically the same as 40 years ago.This doesn’t mean that now he’s a bad singer, he just can’t reach those high notes in a powerful way, resulting in the not so pleasing “mickey mouse” voice. That’s why even if already had two opportunities in the last 2 years, I didn’t buy the ticket (and all the nostalgia about them being them even though all the years doesn’t get me…guns n roses ended in 1996 period.)
