Awesome first flight with this jet ended in disaster when I flew slightly too long and didn't have enough juice to execute the landing. I rough belly landing resulted in snapping the nose off...but a quick repair and it was flying again the following day !

I set my timer for 3 minutes for a 4,000 Mah battery and 3.30 minutes for a 5,000 Mah batt. 4 plus minutes on your maiden going hard like you were was always going to end in a low voltage cut-out, we have all done it. Must say it is one of the best foamies out there definitely in the top 5.

Great flight Dom! Shame about the mishap but at least it repaired OK. I'm thinking of getting this plane as my next purchase. I have the smaller Arrows one.
Would be a good choice I think. I'll be trying 6S6000 in future for longer flying time 😉
Nice flight dom. I just got the 80mm myself. And i Love it. I get about 4 min on a 5200mah pack. But thats not full throttle the while flight
Aww no Dom broke my heart this Lol I love that Fms BAE Hawk it's a fantastic EDF Jet, I've nearly bought it a few times but alas my flying field is not good for those small Jet wheels!! Sad to see it in bits as it was flying so well, easy fix I know but us pilots do not like seeing planes crash!! Great video 😀👍

Yup. With half flap and a breeze it gets off the deck quite quickly.

After flying my LiIon powered Su-27 twin 50mm EDF jet it's going to be difficult to find something better. This hawk is too small. 6S9000 LiIon would be too heavy. And I'm not going LiPo because the flight time would be too short. Going to need to be a bigger 90mm to 120mm EDF jet I think.
Very nice. It appears this bird doesn't like to fly inverted too long, unlike the Avanti that knows no difference?
Not flown it inverted for long enough to form a definite opinion but with some elevator no doubt it will do it
@@EssentialRC Looking at the dihedral(s) it does take a little more work than for instance an XFly T-7A 80mm.

What size battery and how long did you get out of it ?
6S4000. Looks like I got 4 minutes. In hindsight wish I had used a voltage sensor.
You are an experienced rc plane pilot, why don't you use telemetry? In trust is danger
