Burnt joker is probably the seeding bug that made all the jokers rare, i.e. the seed is bugged such that every joker roll before ante 10 is burnt joker so all the other rares were produced by burnt joker blocking
@@BuffiestFluff if you already have a joker tarot or planet card without also having showman, the card is removed from the shop's pool so it's basically a knockout system unless you have showman
@@BuffiestFluffits not that hard tbh. since you cant make the same joker appear twice in the shop without showman, if you manage to roll 2 of the same joker, it just gives you that one + another random one of the same rarity. so basically if you get 3 burnt jokers on the shop without showman, it just gives you 1 burnt + 2 other rare jokers, hence this run
I played this on Anaglyph deck, and it's definitely weird. Here's some other thing I saw (some of which has been in the other comments): 1) The World card kept showing up in the store, more ofthen that every other tarot put together. 2) Once I got the voucher that let you buy playing cards, it was always the 10 of spades, the "glitch card". 3) I played a flush five build with lucky card, and I didn't get the +20 mult a single time. Not once. They would still pay out $20, though 4) Mime showed up in ante 11...which may have been ante 13, after figuring in the two vouchers that dropped the ante. 5) Ten or so rare negative rare jokers got a little wacky.
the reason this seed is glitched like this is because everything is at its "default value", which makes a bunch of weird things happen. 10 of spades is the default for cards, so you get a lot of 10 of spades, rare is the default rarity for jokers, so you get a bunch of rares. for the other stuff, i think its just luck with the seed though.
If I remember correctly, each ante has its own shop queue, so when you drop an ante and reroll once, you're now seeing what you would've seen had you taken a reroll one ante prior, not what you would've seen had you taken a reroll prior to buying the voucher. So, Mime will always show up ante 11 this seed, and if you wish to know how much you'd need to reroll to find it first shop of that ante you need to count how many rerolls you took, including the ones once you got up to that ante again after buying the voucher, and let's not forget that playing a blind counts as a reroll. Also, it's good to know whether you had Overstock and Overstock Plus.
ngl this seed is my fav seed of all time, bugged seeds are super cool and every joker being burnt joker (and then getting replaced by other rare jokers) is super overpowered, plus since it breaks after ante 10 i was able to get naneinf
idk if this was mentioned in the video (playing the seed first so no spoilers) but if you get a showman, all arcana packs are just world, even after ante 10
I never saved the seed because it was in the really early stages of Balatro (and I'm quite silly) but I had a bugged run where all of the jokers that appeared, whether from tarots, packs or just in the shop, were holographic. Weirdest thing that's ever happened
I played this seed before watching this video but i never took the burnt joker at the beginning. Yeah he constantly appeared. I was relieved for you when you took it even if you didn't know how annoying it would have been not taking him haha
With this seed I was able to get a mime by skipping the secound uncommon with bootstraps (you get this from first uncommon skip) in your hand in ante 4.
Technically it had potential, you just had to get a judgment, and then get a mime off of the judgment Then get shit negative and with your relatively easy access to invisible joker copy a bunch of invisibles
@@Djewell314 That is lame as hell There's no reason a rare joker that takes time to benefit you to begin with and randomly chooses between the Jokers you have shouldn't copy negative
My first thought is that there might be some potential in selling out of Burnt Joker and DNA (or skipping DNA to begin with) to force a Brainstorm copy off of the first Invisible Joker so that it isn't wasted on something that's going to get sold later anyway. Burnt Joker would just come right back and there's a healthy possibility that DNA would turn up again before it becomes make or break. Also, I have to wonder what being more persistent about keeping a copy of The World in the inventory would cause to happen since it also has an irregular weight.
Mime would’ve scored more than dna it effectively doubles every cards strength and you had 7 cards in hand effectively adding 7 cards where dna was adding 5. Not to mention if you played more gold cards instead of going straight for steel so early mime would probably 100x your economy or more.
Your math is right but your logic is wrong because we couldn't have found a mime until post ante 10 (I think people found a wack way with uncommon skip tags but roffle had no way of knowing)
Many come from people just getting lucky, but someone also developed a program to search through Balatro seeds and return any that meet provided parameters.
Roguelite and roguelike are used pretty interchangeably today and no one except some true neckbeards are going to care if you call Balatro a roguelike rather than a roguelite. Originally, the name referred to the DOS game Rogue, and roguelikes were games that were like Rogue. Roguelites, meanwhile, referred to games that adopted some of the design principles in Rogue, such as permanent death and procedurally generated worlds, but abandoned others. By the strictest of basement dweller definitions, a roguelike has to strictly be a procedurally generated turn-based RPG with perma death and no true win state, while a roguelite pretty much just has to feature perma death and procedural generation in some capacity.
To me it's an important distinction because what other genres would group games with next to nothing in common with each other in the same genre? No one calls Myst a first person shooter because it's in first person. Most people don't group Leisure Suit Larry and the Legend of Zelda in the same genre because they both have puzzles. It's just bizarre to call everything with replayability a roguelike.
@@matthewgagnon9426 I believe it's an error to think of either term as a genre, both under the old and new usages of the terms. Roguelite today refers more to a design philosophy than a genre. The old definition of roguelikes, being games that play exactly like Rogue with little to no deviation, is not much of a genre either, especially as the definition is so strict that no innovation can be made.
