I just picked up an EL cluster for my Civic today and this really helped, was at 217,000 to 175,000. This video explained it perfectly, thanks for the help!
You sir are a gods send. My speedo broke on my automatic cluster and I'm rebuilding a bunch on my car so I'm gonna be getting a new speedo and zeroing it out. And before anyone says a damn word its not illegal to do so on an exempt car.
If you have two, just put the one you wanna see inside your new cluster,I wanted to see cause the other cluster i want has a techometer,so I wanted to find out how to adjust that mileage, after seeing this vid I know I'm blessed now in sorting things out with ease... Marvelous video brethren..
Ill definitely use this to rool back my odometer in my civic cause i recently bought a CRV cluster (cause it looks cool and has a tachometer where as my stock one didnt) and it has 245ish thousand miles on it whereas my car has 113 thousand miles on it. thanks for the helpful video man
My cluster had a short in it. Instead of trying to fix it I just replaced the cluster but my car has low miles because it was a one owner car before me so thank you for the video I can keep the original miles on it now.
MaritimerMitch I have a 2000 Accord and the speedometer stopped working. Got one from junkyard but the mileage is less than mine. How do I set the correct mileage. There are no screws to remove to switch speedometer. Thanks.
anyone buying a car simply turn the key and look to see if the check engine light is working before cranking the starter . If its disconnected it wont light up . Check the straightness of the odometer reading . A real reading should be straight and sharp and the dashboard should not be loose and older cars have dust under the dash so you can also look for finger prints or dust deposits that looked recently disturbed .
just because you got a new engine doesn't give you the right reason to do this. Since the speedo is used to measures your transmission, your suspension, your tires for servicing. so the only reason to do this roll back...is if your original speedo broke and your replacement needs to match what your old one was marking.
I just rebuilt my b16a2 and trans so i was looking to get a fresh si cluster and roll the odometer back since im starting fresh. I dont think someone thats buying a 20 year old car gives a shit about tires suspension and chasis as much as they do the motor and trans. It would have been dope if the cluster had a reset button hidden in the back somewhere.
Previous owner had switched the gauge cluster from miles to kilometers. Will the odometer calibrate to kilometers, or to miles? Trying to figure out if I should adjust the odometer to its proper mileage or it’s kilometer equivalent
I actually used this to tool mine forward, car has 325,000 miles but the speedometer stoped working at 245,000. Got another cluster at the salvage yard and fixed it.
Are CTR clusters tamper proof? I took mine apart and found a shield over the odo miles. I tried to remove it but don’t want to damage the cluster doing so. Is there a way around this?
No haha, I must of not taken my time to match it correctly. I highly suggest buying a few junk odometers for like $20 and practice on those. I believe you have to match them all correctly as in aligned, or else they won't work.
because once you turn them it breaks a little pin in it and will never work again... only way to do it right is to go to the very first one and turn it backwards... will take a really long time but it will work after you put it back together
lol everyone complaining about someone using this to scam people? y’all do realize with cars this old, the odometer reading is completely irrelevant for the title
Justyn Markland it does work and it has worked for others. Just becuase it doesn't work for you doesn't give u the right to comment on my shit saying it won't work piss off
Thanks man, converting my 2000 si to 5 speed. Car has 175,000kms. Manual cluster has 350,000kms. You helped a ton.

My speedometer needle was broken with 150,000. My replacement cluster has 250,000. This vid helped me keep the original miles! Thanks!

A GOOD PERSONAL REASON OF WHY TO DO THIS, IN MY CASE, I JUST REBUILT MY ENGINE SO NOW IS BRAND NEW AND ACTUALLY 0 MILES ON IT.
thank you for making this video,I've always wondered how to change the miles on the odometer.

He actually has every right to do it. It's his car so whatchu mean. I do it every fresh rebuilt on my track/race cars

glad it helped
I love this cuz this is how I was told to be done, Sir!
Ease with just finger"

You can roll it back on the cluster not on the title :)))
usually not mileage on the title on the civics bud XD they are old
@@ezfunsquad2156 Has it on my title
got an aftermarket meter TRD for my car. can i just exchange my existing odometer to the TRD one?
I took the needle off. How do you recalibrate the needle. It’s now jumping to 20 when I start the car up.
You need a new cluster. Mines does the same thing
Dont remove the needle
So I did this successfully but the miles on the odometer wouldn't change anymore, they were like frozen. :(

Yeah I wanted to do it on my Si cluster too but I practiced on regular cluster and did not keep rolling. Good luck.

Federal offense to alter that sir
I just changed the instrument panel on my 94 civic. But the fuel and temperature gague go all the way up and stay there. Any suggestions?
+MrSlickmonster6973 no earth on the gauges
+Tom Martin .... ok thanks
i had to do this because my tach stopped work

It's AWESOME. Thank you for this Video Tutorial.
enjoy, video intended for non illegal purposes like a new motor or something like that

Wonder what happens if you roll it to 999,999
Where’s LeBeautiful at?
Who
way to boost selling price of my car lol
Also the buyer car can order a car facts report and check when the last mileage was last recorded.
“Don’t use this for illegal purposes”
“I just took the engine light bulb out”
For what other reason besides illegal reason would you do that? Lol
Guys rolling back odometer and taking out the check engine bulb. He definitely ripping people off.
Nope actually I changed the engine and the car ended up in the scrap yard
ALERT! ALERT! dirty water in fish tank!!!!! ALERT!
were lazy
CANADIAN?????? OUT OR OOLUT.......
N ISNT IT A ODOMETER ???
All this method does is break your odometer. It will not work after doing this method.
Justyn Markland it does work and it has worked for others. Just becuase it doesn't work for you doesn't give u the right to comment on my shit saying it won't work piss off
You can tell someone messed with the mileage, there would be finger prints and dust on the inside.
