How to Make a Site Analysis Sketch Diagram (Thinking on Paper)

In this video I do a quick sketch of a house designed by the architects Lacaton & Vassal. Doing quick precedent studies like this is an effective way to practice and improve drawing skills while simultaneously learning about design.

Yes, this is a good rule of thumb, however every site and design is different.

If you're just sketching a rough path of the sun I think it should be similar to what's shown in the video with the sun rising in the East and setting in the West. Hope this helps!

Thanks for watching! For a sketch diagram like how I show in the video it's just about remembering that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West and is at it's highest point at the middle of the day. If you need to use a more accurate sun path you can use this resource:
