I just want to acknowledge what a wonderful thing you are doing for your wife. I'm so happy she has a husband who cares about her interests and is willing to learn about them non-judgmentally for her future enjoyment. You're a good partner!
The rabbit hole that is Taylor Swift is actually a whole new world of complexities, her songs are her stories, some true some are not, but they evoke feelings, and her words create pictures in your mind. It is one rabbit hole I don't mind being in, she makes a person think and feel and sometimes makes one a better person, and for some, they don't feel as alone in this big world, she is relatable to many people in different ways. Well, welcome to the rabbit hole.
I love every version of this but at the Eras tour, the way she performs this is SO visceral you can feel it resonate through the whole stadium! It's amazing!!
As good as this version is, because looking at herwhile singing is always the best.....I still think the recorded version on the album is better, probably because of the great music production that just hits at the right times really hard, so if you haven't listened to that version please do! Love watching your journey!
Absolutely I was going to say this. Since he likes analysing a lot of the production side, by not listens to the studio version he missed out on pretty much all the amazing production and backing vocals which completely changed the whole atmosphere of the whole song
This version of this song may be the most heartbreaking shes ever performed. I cant imagine having songs you wrote as a 13 year old on your bedroom floor taken from you :(
I think the best thing you can do now is watch her documentary ‘Miss Americana’. It gives you a lot of the context behind her music and you’d get to know her better as a person too!
His heartbroken wail at the end along with her meloncholy moans fit the lyrics to this song perfectly. He's dying inside while she's feeling the pain of the inevitable. Just brilliant.
The jewels Taylor gave Scott Borchetta of Big Machine were her albums that went Platinum and Diamond, Fearless was one of them, which is like a feather in their hat. The reference to her stolen lullabies of course you know by now her albums that were sold out from under her.
LONG POND! YES!! Ya don't have to analyze her lyrics...just sit back and appreciate them. Swifties may disagree with me, but when you do "All too Well", I would do the lyric video before the short movie. She's singing it live, so you will see her and not just the lyrics. Then, take in the movie when you can. But get the effect of the true song first. Just my opinion and I didn't steer you wrong on The Long Pond Sessions :)
I actually do agree with you! People often go straight to the Short Film and there's so much information at the same time that either the person leaves the lyrics at the background and mostly reacts to the movie, or the opposite, and ends up losing interesting parts of the movie while trying to catch up with the lyrics
The Long Pond Sessions are just wonderful and very reminiscent of the acoustic/"surprise song" section of the Eras show. The stripped-down versions are always just so wonderful I think because it's how her songs usually start: just her and an instrument or two. The standard folklore version is very haunting. and lovely, but this one hits different.
This is exactly why her stripped down songs are so effective. Some one once said:”Great design isn’t when you can’t add anything. Rather it’s when you can’t take anything away.” I look at her songwriting the same way. She is a master of layering meaning in seemingly simple songs…
I feel like that's kind of the idea almost, it gives you cohesion and insight during an "era" instead of bouncing around. Definitely makes sense to bounce around in the beginning to get different "vibes" though@
After watching some of you reactions, at the middle of this video i thought i would comment "Metalhead to swiftie in 300 days? I give you 30!" and than you said it yourself at the end :D
We know this song is about her record label drama but I always listen to as a divorce proceeding. Not a literal funeral. The man is slandering and burying her emotionally while also letting his pain run rampant. It’s such a mature and multi-layered song.
The question of going thru the albums, what do people think of a track 5 sequence? TS goes to extra work to select track 5, so perhaps that is one way to "learn/focus on the eras"
Love following your journey. This song is devastating live on the eras tour. You will love the instrumentation and intense visuals Taylor adds to the live performance. It is one of the only songs that filmed the entire song from my show because I wanted it forever it’s THAT good.
I cannot imagine how it must be helping her create such boatful music. TS and John Moreland are the only artists I have heard that sing about feeling love in your bones. That is such a powerful image,
One of my favorite examples of her songwriting. I’ve listened to this song 100s of times. It still hits my heart every time. Great reaction!! Thx for bringing us on this journey with you. Can wait til you get into more live versions and her videos. SO MUCH MORE TO DISCOVER!! 😁
No idea how I missed this one earlier, but such a cool surprise today when I have been having SUCH a moment with My Tears Ricochet (and Mad Woman) the last few days. Probably time for some Red vault tracks for me, lol. Little Babe and Message in a Bottle for a change of pace, lol. Thank you for this. I forget if you have done Last Great American Dynasty already, but would be fun to see that. And Maroon.
Personally, I think it would be great fun to watch you watch her old concerts (+ Long Pond) and her documentary, then maybe go back to music videos so you can catch more of the Easter eggs… Part of me wants to try to curate a playlist for you to make it easier to track down songs, but that seems presumptuous on my part, haha. Still, I’d be happy to if it helps! Loved the reaction. It’s been such a fun journey so far.
So glad I tuned in early in your journey, I have a feeling it will be an interesting one to watch and you will enjoy yourself so much at The Eras Tour, you’ll be a full blown swiftie by then, guaranteed 😅
hey! I recommend listening to the We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Rock version), it’s from one of Taylor’s live tours. I think Bad Blood had a rock version cover as well on one of her tours!

ruclips.net/video/hHkPYQRD-z8/видео.html got you covered! For the first part at least. Bad blood I haven't done yet 🥰
This song is about how she feels about the man who discovered her and signed her to his record label, Big Machine Records, when she was a teenager and who subsequently sold her masters. Where this relationship comes into play is all of the internal references to her music that she made while under this label which were her first 6 albums. Taylor has a history of internal references in her music, in Getaway Car she references Love Story, this is something that happens all the time in her music. I didn't have it in myself to go with grace - referencing State of Grace from Red album (#4) And you're the hero flying around, saving face - referencing Superman from Speak Now album (#3) And if I'm dead to you why are you at the wake? - referencing Reputation album (#6) (in the death of her reputation...) Cursing my name, wishing I stayed - referencing All You Had To Do Was Stay from 1989 album (#5) or Stay Stay Stay from Red album (4) Look at how my tears ricochet - referencing Tear Drops On My Guitar from Taylor Swift Debut (#1) You Know I didn't want to have to haunt you - referencing Haunted from Speak Now album (#3) Cause when I'd fight you used to tell me I was brave - possibly referencing Fearless from Fearless album (#2) (I'm less confident about this reference lol) And you're tossing out blame - referencing Don't Blame Me from Reputation album (#6) I'm sure there are other references in this song, but this should start you off and show how intricate her songwriting is!
Some explanation behind folklore and evermore just incase u don’t know… these two albums where written during the pandemics folklore was released in July 2020, evermore was released in December 2020. Folklore asthetic represents spring and summer but evermore represents fall and winter. The evermore album was written because she just simply could not stop writing more music so don’t think of evermore as “just leftover songs” it’s it’s own album with a similar vibe to folklore. Folklore also wasn’t planned and was A suprise drop along with evermore. Being announced a day before there release with the single being released the same date… u should maybe react to the music videos to cardigan (on folklore) and willow (on evermore
Okay, I’m really excited to share these things so I’m sorry for the long comment but I really think you’re gonna like it! First of all, please check Alef Vernom arts of the Tayrealm, each one of her albums are different “houses” and each one of them with their own knights! He created these amazing personifications as RPG characters with their classes, alignments and powers using a lot of easter eggs from song her lyrics and the whole aesthetic from each era so is really fun to look at them always find out something new once you understand and get to know her music! About songs, please react to the lakes, I think you’re gonna love it! I personally believe you’re really gonna enjoy evermore, red, speak now and lover albums a lot and so here are some song recommendations from each: evermore: willow, no body no crime, right where you left me red: all too well, treacherous, holy ground speak now: long live, enchanted, back to december lover: the archer, miss americana and the heartbreak prince, daylight Also if you wanna get to know more about Taylor herself watch the complet Folklore long pond studio sessions and check out her documentary Miss Americana as well!

I appreciate that the main video is big and your face is smaller, most reviwers don't. I'm got tickets for the Stockholm concerts and have to turn my boyfriend into a Swiftie, do you have any tips? He doesn't seem as willing to put in any work 😂

@@PeterPumpkinEater83 100%! Just gotta find some time to sit down and record. Have 3 shorter reactions to non-swift stuff I want to do and something like 5 swift reactions I want to do next 😅
I don 't get how a rock fan can be into Taylor, just your average female voice. Nothing special like the type of voice a rocker would listen to like Pink, Gaga or Grace VanderWaal.

She's an incredible songwriter with a great vocal range with a nice tone to it, especially her lower register. Her vocals may not match Sharon Del Adel or Floor Jansen, in pure "skill" but she makes up for it in other areas. Not gonna lie, I kinda assumed the same when I started the journey; a hit machine with an average voice. But that was ignorant and false, I learned very quickly. At the end of the day though, music is subjective 😅
Really wish reaction channels listen to entire song then say what they gotta. Only one channel.i kno if does it that way the pausing during the best parts turns me away
Год назад+11
That'd be more of a review though. Personally I prefer when reaction channels stop to talk about details they hear (I watch a lot of metal reactions 😅) but I know not everyone does. And if I am going to take inspiration from the stuff I like to watch when making my own, I prefer to pause and run it back a little over talking over it, cause otherwise I might miss a detail 🥰
Part of it comes down to pausing to prevent copyright strikes/claims. But like, if someone was gonna do it that way, there would literally be no point in including the song in the video. What I enjoy about this series in particular at least is that he does back up when he pauses. I just accepted that most people won't notice my particular favorite bits on a first listen, but it is a lovely surprise when they do.
I appreciate that when you stop, you always go back a bit so you're not cutting anything off. Feels more genuine and that you aren't missing the flow. I picked up on that right away.
Her expressions is everything to me, you can see the hurt and the anger 🥹
I just want to acknowledge what a wonderful thing you are doing for your wife. I'm so happy she has a husband who cares about her interests and is willing to learn about them non-judgmentally for her future enjoyment. You're a good partner!

I said this on his Exile reaction. I love the LPSS BUT the production on the album is next level.
Totally agree. This version is good, but the studio version is way better! That haunting intro adds so much to the song IMO
This version of this song may be the most heartbreaking shes ever performed. I cant imagine having songs you wrote as a 13 year old on your bedroom floor taken from you :(

Oh I definitely agree that it's better to watch the lyric video first!
As said above- for All Too Well (10 min version), do lyric first, then do Short Film (back to back like you did Dear John/Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve)
Yes, agreed! So many people are reacting to the short film first and I feel like they aren't paying enough attention to the song that way.
The Long Pond Sessions are just wonderful and very reminiscent of the acoustic/"surprise song" section of the Eras show. At this point I would say just do albums in order from track 1 to end (including all deluxe/bonus tracks)

@@ZosiaDabrowski That makes so much sense! "cursing your name" and "cursing my name" are pretty much the same lyric!
