When I got my first BP in January he ate pretty well for the first month, and then just stopped. Didn't panic until about 2 months, at which point I started getting a little concerned. Reached out to the breeder to ask him to double-check my husbandry, just in case. He said it all sounded fine and added, "He's probably just in breeding mode." So yeah. My snake refused to eat for 2 months just because he was horny. At the end of April he realized he wasn't getting any ladies and decided to eat again lol.

Medusa stopped eating for around five months solid. She finally ate her rat a few days ago. Talk about being worried to a frazzle. I literally danced a jig in my living room when she finally ate. No worries, though. They are finicky eaters and will eat when they are ready.

I wouldn't say it's "normal" for a ball python to go off food. Common? Sure. But it isn't normal. If your snake isn't eating, there's a reason and it's up to you as the caretaker to figure out what that reason is and fix it.
I've had a few snakes die on me from going so long without eating. So anytime one of my snakes goes on a hunger strike. It's definitely a concern. I currently have a baby king snake that won't eat. When they are babies I worry when they won't eat.
i have a 3 month old male ball python and ive had him for a month and he still hasnt eaten i tried feeding him frozen thawed food and that didnt work so i tried getting a live mouse and killing it before i fed him and that didnt work either so it would mean the world to me if you could give me some tips
That's what worries every Snake Owner when a Snake won't Eat my Corn Snake Medusa did that one time and Scared me a lot because they are not know to do that but she ate the week later I was so happy my snake is more then my pet She's Family

I just got a caramel zebra jag carpet python that has a love heart on her head, her name is medusa too 😂
My bp won’t eat if he can see me. I can be nearby, but have to be out of site. Otherwise he just stares at me.

My corn snake wasnt the best eater when he was younger, which was definitely stressful 😅

For my hide should i bury it a little bit in the substrate to make it a little hotter i use mulch
You definitely can, especially if your ball python likes to burrow 🥰
How do you get your ball python to drink more often?
Wet the mouse so that your python can get the water from swallowing the mouse
