That was a very good video! Very informative! Very thorough and professionally done! 👍
Thanks for your advice very specific info.

Thank you so much. Just got a boat with twin 200 Yamaha's . Have 23 hours so now its time.
Congratulations on your new boat.
Hope this helps out. Thanks for checking out my channel
This is awesome!
So it's hard to tell exactly, but the lower unit There is a small bolt that has a square nut that fits into an inset.
that square nut. You have to put in to that inset before you screw. The screw in or the screw has nothing to hold on, to.
That's what I'm doing at that point i believe. The nut fell out of the hole when the bolt was taken off.
Hope that helps.
Don't forget to change the filter too.
Nice video very helpful great boat have a new 22.8 myself love it checked off so many boxes compared to the market.
Yeah I looked long and hard. I'm actually looking into moving up to the 24.8.
New prices come out in July so going to see what the prices will be.
Thanks for watching.
I felt that
Help!! The bolt that you start to take off at 4:12 in the video… what is that that you grab with your other hand.. is there a nut back there that needs removed? I just completed this service and that specific bolt won’t go on… is there a nut you’re catching there?
Also, that small screw with the square nut is very small. Probably only a 1/2 inch long max.
new subs
Welcome to the channel. TY for the sub. Hope you find something you like. Anything you would like to see please drop a comment.
I think maybe you overfilled your OB? According to my Yamaha 2018, F200XB owner's manual says 4.55 qt. without filter and 4.76 qt with filter. Check your owner's manual before changing your oil.
I’m afraid to screw something up. Is it this easy?
Its pretty easy to do. Just take your time. Make sure you replace everything you take off. Im Definitely not a person that's mechanically inclined so I did it. I think you can do it too. good luck if you try it on your own.
When u are doing this I know you want boat to be on a level surface, but when you trim the motor down do you just eyeball when it is level. I’m a novice just wondering if you need to put a level on the motor itself. Really liked the video tho. Excellent! Thank you.
To be perfectly level is really not necessary. Real close is fine but if you want to be precise a level wouldn't hurt. I didn't show it this time but I usually run the motor a bit to heat up the oil. IT helps it flow better.
@@oceandeepfishing4555 Thank you very much for replying.
Hey did the used oil you drained out have a faint gas smell to it? I just did my 20 hour oil change and it was dark color and has very faint gas smell. Thanks
Maybe more of a used oil smell then gas but could of gone either way.
@@oceandeepfishing4555 I wonder why my used oil had a gassy smell? Kind of odd
@@andrewn.5117 not sure. Maybe call the dealership and ask about it.
If it's concerning you I would change it again at maybe 50 hrs and see if it's gone away or you still smell it.
The screws are 5mm allen. Using anything else will destroy your screws.
Hey Captain.
Well on my 200 hp engine no Allen wrench fit perfect. So I had to go buy the star socket which fit and worked perfect to remove the screws.
Possibly yours might be different then mine but it fit like a glove for me.
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to cut open the oil filter, to check for metal, and replace with a new filter. This might protect the owner with a warranty claim, for the expense of a cheap filter!
Hello my friend. Yamaha suggest that the filter gets changed at the 100 hr. Service not the 20hr. Service. So im just going by the maintenance manual that came with the motor so following that I think anything that came up would be covered by warranty.
Thanks so much for watching the video and your comments.

Can you show where you greased the fittings?
Thanks so much for watching the video. I will be doing my 100 hr service soon on the motor and I will grease all the fittings then and show where they are. But if you need to do it now I would refer to the manual. But there is 4 fittings on the outer housing two under the trim motors. And one on the steering bar and one other I can remember off the top of my head.
@@oceandeepfishing4555 Thanks for the info and quick reply. I just got the same exact engine and your video helps.
@@PianoUniverse glad it helped you out. If you need anything else that I might be able to help you just leave a message. I will have a good detailed video on the 100 hr service so be sure to watch for that. Probably in about two months. I'm at 68 hrs now.
@@oceandeepfishing4555 will do!
Flip flops? Flip flops! Flip flops!!! You cant do that in flip flops!!
But i did
Anti Seize, not Siege!
Could have placed funnel next to container hole, and Yamalube is okay oil.. but the dye in it keeps warranty in good standing, although Yamaha does allow other oil to be used. Amsoil is the choice of the smart boater.
That was a very good video! Very informative! Very thorough and professionally done! 👍
Thanks for watching.
I will have another coming out soon on the 100 hr Service.
